    Steak, pizza, fried potatoes

Found this place while looking for nearby places to eat from our hotel. First time in Italy and didn't know where to go. This place had some really good reviews on Yelp. It was delicious! The servers were really nice and were really accommodating to us not speaking Italian, service was great! We came back two nights in a row. Definitely recommend this place.

A very nice/upscale steakhouse that also serves amazing pizzas and pasta. This is definitely a local favorite and was packed every time we passed by. If you're staying in the area, Joseph is a must. While you can get by at popping in before the busy Italian dinner time (8pm) on weekdays, you might need to make a reservation or wait a little bit on weekends. A very filling meal with an antipasto and 2 seafood pasta dishes only ran us 24 euros.

This was an incredible meal! Everything was fresh, service was precise and so good. Antipasto buffala- every bite was so tasty and I did not want it to end Pasta with zuchinni Flores - pasta was fresh, cream rich and thick Steak and brocolini- every bite was bursting with flavor. I'm already thinking of the next time I'm going back!

Sorry but this is all that I have to show that was left of the Tiramisu. You won't be disappointed!

Just laying over in Roma for a couple of nights and found this place on Yelp. We started w/a margherita pizza which was heavenly. (The house red wine was good too...) Then we went to the grass fed beef steak and it simple melted in ur mouth! (The grilled veggies were just ok) but the pasta with mushrooms was divine. To finish it all off, we inhaled the best-ever Tiramisu that has ever blessed my lips... We will go back...

This was our first exlerience with food as We just landed and found our hotel. As we walked down the street we found Joseph's and decided we better eat now becase its getting late. To our surprise it stays open until midnight. We walked in looking dead, the hostess ask how many in our party, we said 2. She led us to the very back room then pointed to the rear of another room. We walked back and found a empty table. We sat and waited for a couple of minutes before our server came over and layed down a couple of large square plates, and two short glasses. I noticed that my plate was chipped. I asked the server for a new plate. We took a look at the large menu, and picked a few items, off the starter menu. scamorra bruchetta artichoke bruchetta, zuchinni risotto with prawn and pasta pomadoro. The scamorra bruchetta was so bland, it was just as if they took a piece of cheese and one slice of mushroom and baked it. It was served with 4 little slices of burnt toast. No seasoning on the bread. The artichoke bruchetta was one large piece of sliced bread with an artichoke spread. It was a little better than the other bruchetta. The zuchinni risotto was very fishy. It came with the heads still attached and lots of crack shells in this dish. Which made it very unpleasant to eat. The rice was under cooked and very dry. The pasta pomadoro was also undercooked and bland. But i ate it because i was so hungry. To get any type of service you must flag down the server. We asked to try the tirimisu, this was the highlight of the night. So delish. We finished up and had to flag down the server again to ask for the check. He simply said your table 64. Pay up front. Bottom line, we would go back but i would try the steak, this is what they are known for. Especially when you walk in the front door and see a huge humidity controlled dry aged counter. Oh and the price for dinner, 36 euros.

Ristorante Joseph offers an excellent set menu (menu fisso) that runs about 8€. I got the strangozzi con spigola (bass) and a cappuccino for 10€. What a deal. Definitely recommended.

    Great display of meats!!

LOVED the gnocchi with Gorgonzola and radicchio, and the panna cotta (with mixed berries) was like silk!

A good honest neighborhood restaurant…read more A large honest neighborhood restaurant. It is in the Aurelio neighborhood which is one of Rome's many ugly neighborhoods. There are two walled-in complex that are beautiful - The Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music and A Spanish Language Collegium designed to provide advanced training to Catholic Priests working in Latin America. Both establishments have stunning beautiful grounds inside their walls. Outside, it is brutal every day Rome. Grim apartment buildings, a lot of traffic, factories and stores selling practical items like automobile parts. The general area is a restaurant desert - except for some very small and grungy mini-cafes. In this grim world of concrete reality, Ferro e Ghisa stands out like an oasis. They serve industrialized food but good industrialized food. They have a fine bar. The place feels relaxed and spacious. You go outside and you feel like you are going to be run over by speeding cars every six and a half seconds. * * * When we came in at 4:30 on a warm sunny late afternoon, their vast room was completely deserted. Golden light poured into the front from outside giving the establishment a warm glow. By the time we left at six, only one other set of customers had come in ... an Indian family. However, as we sat there one waitress after another after another reported for duty. A look inside the kitchen showed an army of cooks. So even if the place was nearly empty while we were there, It looked like they were preparing for an onslaught of hundreds of customers. Given how few other good establishments there are in the neighborhood, their expectation of an onslaught of customers was probably right on target. * * * I had the house white wine (they were pouring Riesling), and a Fritto Pazzo. The menu said clearly the Fritto Pazzo was made from frozen ingredients. It was absolutely peachy, frozen or not frozen. * * * Fritto Pazzo means Crazy Fried Whatever. Like American vegetable soup, There are no standard rules as to what has to be included. Certain items show up frequently. Rice Croquettes show up nearly always. Those come with and without tomato sauce inside. It is common to throw in both kinds. Fried vegetables show up. Some kind of fried potato shows up. Fried seafood can show up if the house is feeling expansive. The Ferro e Ghisa version features very very curly fried potatoes making them kind of a curlicue chip and three different flavors and shapes of rice croquettes. Short and fat with just rice and cheese inside, short and fat with tomato sauce and cheese inside and long and skinny like a breadstick with cheese inside. There may have been some incidental other vegetables or even a shrimp in there somewhere. But the potato chips and the croquettes were there in quantity ... And they were the total stars of the show. This was heavy snacking in style. I was glad to have it. * * * We have had legendary food to die for elsewhere in Rome ... So I sort of have to call this a four star review. But there was zero wrong with what I had. I would love to go back ... Notably when I could do a deep dive into their fantastic bar ... And see what else is on their very large menu. I shouldn't drink too much however. It would be too easy to be run over by the 1000 cars that run in front of this place night and day, day and night.

We had dinner at Ferro e Gisha, and it was fantastic. The food and service were impeccable. They…read morehad outdoor seating, but we chose to eat inside because of the road noise. We shared the Floretine steak with green beans, and it was wonderful.
