Dr. Zuchero is a great caring pediatric dentist. I highly recommended him. I brought my child to see a dentist for the first time at 15 months because she chipped her teeth due to a fall. I checked out many dentists 5 miles near home and visited two for their opinion on dental care for her chips. I truly wanted to a cosmetic fix so she will have pretty teeth again. One dentist agreed and recommended crowning on her teeth with local antesiathic (while assistants pin her down) at the office. I wasn't comfortable with that option and talked to Dr Zucherro. Dr Zucherro said a fix is possible with crowning but only under a hospital setting while she is asleep. Having her awake for the surgery is too dramatic for her to experience being so young. Doing so in a local office is too risky without professional supervision in case something goes wrong. Furthermore, he explained that her teeth is actually very decayed to the point that crowning may not help. Removal may have to be an option, possibly a better option. She also doesn't have to be put under and it is only a few minutes with me present in the same room. Visiting Dr Zuchero was surely more informative on my options, risks, and what each procedures entailed. I was comfortable choosing Dr. Zucherro to be my child's dentist. I personally feel that he takes the extra time to talk to his patients and not just blindly executing a procedure for profit. He saves my child from experience a dramatic experience. We ended up removing her 4 upper teeth due to severe decay. Dr. Zucherro also took time to talk about future dental care for her and future babies to prevent such decays from happening. He recommended that all babies to visit a dentist as early as one year. Had I done so, my child's teeth severe decay would be prevented. Her decayed started from behind which is not visible to parents but a dentist would have spotted early enough for cleaning instead of removal as a last resort. I personally had many bad dentists growing up...and went through many dramatic experience myself. I was fearful of each dentistal visit. I am glad to find Dr Zucherro to ease my fear and my child's fear. Thank you. Fyi. My child's teeth decay was due to extended overnight breastfeeding, early introduce of sugary products, and poor dental hygience. Sadly. I have done all the wrong things. My child resisted whenever I brushed her teeth and I hated seeing her cry. So, I skipped some nights. After this experience, i am much more adamantly about brushing, singing the "this is the way I brush my teeth" while she is brushing, maiking it more fun, she now loves to brush and some times brush for 10 minutes on her own and then I brushed it again. Now and then, she resists but I never let her go to bed without brushing. So to all moms...bring your child to see dr. Zucherro early and brush often. Dr. Zucchero is truly an amazing dentist. Not only is he great at what he does, but he is so wonderful with children. I got the best first impression from him from the moment we stepped into his office for my son's first appointment. My son was traumatized by doctors just from being sick so much and dealing with a bad primary doctor. So my son was crying as soon as he walked in to the waiting room. Dr. Zucchero actually came out to the waiting room to talk to us first just to make our son comfortable!! Dr. Zucchero also performed surgery on our son who was two at the time. As a mother I was absolutely terrified. Dr. Zucchero took time out of his day to call me back to walk me through what to expect during the day of the surgery and talked to me not only as a medical professional, but as a parent to a parent. He is always so realistic and does not do procedures only to make money. He is honest and always has the child's best intentions in mind. We never knew HOW much of an impact that surgery was going to make. Before surgery, our son did not eat, speak, and he constantly seemed to be uncomfortable/in pain. After surgery (literally that same night!!) he started speaking, eating, and was SO happy!! He has been a completely different child since surgery!! We call Dr. Zucchero our miracle worker!! Today, our son needed to have a tooth extracted. Dr. Zucchero took his time with numbing our son and doing the extraction in order to not terrify our son even more. He was so extremely gentle that our son was smiling within minutes!! Dr. Zucchero also gives great referrals. He steered us in the direction of a wonderful pediatrician (finally)! Our son loves Dr. Zucchero and talks about him ALL the time!! Dr. Zucchero is such an advocate for young children and for getting them into the dentist early in order to prevent them from having cavities and other teeth problems later on (something that not many parents know)! I would recommend Dr. Zucchero 1000000% and I will always share the story about how he truly changed our son's whole life by caring and being a wonderful dentist who knows what he is doing. My children have been going to Dr. Zucchero for many years. I first met him when my 3 year old daughter fell into a coffee table and injured her top front teeth. Not only did he save her teeth he saved me from the anxiety I had through the whole accident. He has helped teach my children good dental habits. He has also taught my children not to be afraid of dental work. (from cavities to cleanings). I write this review after having witnessed a child getting two teeth pulled. He walked out of the office with a smile. I laughed and said us parents were sweating bullets and this kid is smiling. He is good with kids and as a mom this is all that matters to me. He is knowledgeable and he explains and shows you everything to make sure as a parent you are aware and understand. He takes his time with every child no matter how many children are in the waiting room. Most importantly my children like and are comfortable with him. I feel if we start good dental habits now as adults they will carry on with those habits. I always forget to say Thank you when I leave his office and I would like to say that now. This doctor knows what he is doing. He performed work on my kids (ages 7 and 4.5) with confidence and did a good job. Everyone i know of including myself hates going to the dentist because lets face it, it is scary. My son whined and cried before going there but after he sat in the chair I held his hand and the dentist started to work on him. He talked to my children during the procedure in such a way to ease their worries and tension. His work was without hesitation, it was swift and to the point. After the procedure he provided small gifts to the kids and it made my kids happy. Every dentist will give you advice on what they think can be the cause of current or future dental problems which is a good thing. Nothing bad happened to both my kids on multiple visits and as such I would recommend this dentist seeking quality dental service for their children. read more

Dr. Zucchero was not my first choice for my daughter, but I'm so glad that my husband chose him. My daughter was 3 when she first visited Dr. Zucchero's office for routine check up. My daughter was very scared and loud and was wailing. Dr. Zucchero is understanding, compassionate and patient with our daughter. Dr. Zuccero educated me and my husband on how to care for our daughter's teeth properly. He established a comfortable and confident relationship with our girl Remy that when I see my daughter now sitting in the dental chair, I never thought that she will ever be calm and 'happy." You won't find a better children's dentist anywhere else! My girls have been coming to Dr. Zucchero since my oldest was a baby (she is 13 now!) the staff is so friendly. Also, I appreciate the follow up phone calls regarding my appointment times. In the 13 years that we've been coming to Children's Dentistry, I have since moved out to Joliet but we've kept Dr. zucchero as the kids' dentist because he is just so kind and most importantly patient! I love the set up of the exam room where kids can support other kids and watch Dr. zucchero while he's working on a child. We love Dr. Zucchero! He has been caring for my kids' beautiful smiles for two years now. My oldest son has autism and to find a dentist to care for him was a challenge. Dr. Zucchero is a fantastic dentist. Four years ago, we were in need of a pediatric dentist for my, then 2 year old, who had a broken front tooth. So, my dentist referred us to him. Since we were extremely happy with his work, personality and staff, we brought our 9 year old to see him as well. We love that we can sit in the same room and watch him at work. He explains everything to us while he's working and even invites us to "take a look". We have since moved but continue to take the hour-long drive to see Dr. Zucchero. I have been going to Dr. Zucchero since I was a child and now my three children go to him. My children started at the age of two and now my oldest is 18! He has done a great job with them throughout the years. My five year old enjoys his visit and never cries! Dr. Z is s great Dentist! I love that he educates us parents. He is great with my girls. My daughter had an overbite and he caught it and took action right away to improve it. My son was so afraid of a dentist that he didn't even wanted to open his mouth. He screamed, kicked,bite. I thought he would have to be put to sleep to have his teeth done. I was recommended by my dentist to see Dr. Zucchoro. On his first visit he had his 2 teeth extracted and he was afraid . On the second visit he was already much calmed. Did not have a great experience. I'm honestly shocked he is a pediatric dentist because it doesn't seem like he likes kids. My older son was scared and he didn't make things better.
