I agree with a previous review. My family started seeing them when they first opened their doors. We loved it and recommended so many people to them. Now that they have established their business, the service and care have really declined. I would try to schedule with a particular dentist and would sometimes not get that person. My son, who has cancer, and they were aware of that, would get switched. I would have to explain his situation and sometimes it would never be addressed. Scheduling with the same dentist was a way to avoid all this and he would hopefully get better care because of it. This was not the case. I just think they have gotten too big for their britches. The flashy office and the pretty packaged toothpaste and toothbrush is not enough. read more

wishing others better luck while dealing with the front staff. first time misinformed me that they did not accept my bluecross/blueshield. second time (about a week ago) would not bother with me. had to do my own legwork,two dentists there except bluecross/blueshield according to them all dentists accept physicans mutual (which i just appled for). asked all three at the front desk to have dr. jeff call me(he did not,they probably did not tell him to do so). we are former patients in good standing with both dr.jeff and his wife or at least i thought we were,not to be shown such disrespect. thank you read more

This review is long overdue. It's been almost 3 months since I finished a long list of treatments at this office. Including working on dental issues while wearing braces, and replacing my front teeth with crowns! Words cannot describe how appreciative I am of the work Dr. Valencia and the whole team have done (Dr. Valencia is a true professional doing her magic, Matt making visits fun and easy going, Nycole always keeping me organized). Uptown Dentistry is a terrific practice. The office itself has high-end equipment and amenities while also being located in upscale downtown Park Ridge. They have personal TVs in every chair as well as X-Ray machines in every room (I've never had to move rooms when I was due for x-rays). Their safety protocol is also excellent. They have limited appointments that encourages social distancing and the place is spotless. They also do temperature checks, require masks (until you're in your your chair), and require every patient to wash their hands before sitting. Parking is very convenient, there's always parking just outside in the half circle lot or you can park underground if you're particular about your car. The garage below will easily accommodate an SUVs height and there are very clean stairways that lead right outside the office. There are multiple dentists at this office and I see Dr. Jeff Ruttencutter and I can confidently say he's been the best dentist I've ever had. He's very detailed and thorough in his work and he's also very thoughtful in his interactions with his patients. I would highly recommend him. I can also add that Uptown Dentistry is great for families. My wife and toddler see Dr. Marta Demski and she is terrific. She is so patient with my son and always has such a warm attitude with the both of them. Furthermore, the staff here is wonderful. They are always so accommodating if you're preferential during treatment (tv channels, toothpaste flavors, rescheduling appointments) and the entire practice as a whole makes going to the dentist so much better. read more

I do not write a review often, but I find myself compelled to do so now. When I originally started going to Uptown, I loved my experience. Now that some of the original dentists have left, they are horrible. I have consistently scheduled appointments at the end of each cleaning so they were on the books. They would then call and cancel my appointments due to some issue or other. However, they were then not able to reschedule me until months out. I took it upon myself to go to a new dentist for my last cleaning so I would not be too far behind and called to scheduled my next appointment with Uptown for December 2023. They cannot see me until the end of Jan 2024. If you cannot take care of your existing clients, why not turn away new clients? Not a great way to do business. read more

Wonderful experience at Uptown Dentistry! My family has been going to Uptown Dentistry since we moved to Park Ridge in 2012. The kids were 3 & 6 at that time. They loved the doctors, staff and office from the get go (prize box doesn't hurt) and 8+ years later, they still look forward to their 2x/year visits! We have seen Dr. Jeff & Dr. Priscilla primarily, but have seen other docs as well. They are all great! The whole office is welcoming. When I had a persistent tooth issue, they saw me many times, looking for the root cause of the issue! And, the office itself is beautiful - so clean and crisp. It's a pleasure to go in! This place is fantastic. Dr. Jeff Ruttencutter takes the time to explain everything he is doing. He is not only concerned with the "business" end of dentistry, but rather will recommended what he feels is best for the patient. Example: I had a crown with a post that fell out. I came into see Dr. Jeff and he was able to reattach the crown without having to make a new one. I have been to many other higher priced dental practices, whos first response is to always replace. That is not always the best course of action. I appreciated the fact that Dr. Jeff explained the situation and I felt comfortable with his recommendation. I don't write too many reviews, but I really wanted to share the positive experience I've had at Uptown, specifically with Dr. Jeff. I've been a patient of his for around 7-8 years now, and he is by far the best dentist I've had in my entire life. Besides the regular cleanings, he has pulled a wisdom tooth for me (which took all of 5 minutes and I was back at work that same day), he fixed a tooth I chipped while biting my nails, and most recently completed a dental implant for a back molar I was missing for over 13 years. Not only is his quality of work top notch, he's someone whose opinion I trust and hold in high regard. I've asked for thoughts on numerous different things ranging braces to random cosmetic issues, and he always takes the time to talk through the options with me and never pushes me to do anything. I can't recommend this practice enough! We moved to the area 7 years ago and once settled I started looking for a dentist. Now...I have PTSD with dentists. I had some really bad luck with crappy ones that messed up my teeth and I'll be that person who starts to cry and hyperventilate when others wouldn't even bat an eye. A friend recommended this practice and I hesitantly made my way there although not covered by my insurance. I'm really glad I did. In the intake form I mentioned my struggles and once on the chair we talked about my past experience, what they could do to put me at ease etc. it was awesome. Because of insurance I did try another dentist once a few years back and ran back to Uptown Dentistry for my next check up. They are so professional, understanding, kind, no shenanigans so for dental cleanings you're in and out in 20min. Great with kids too when I took my daughter who was 2 or 3 at the time. Beautiful practice. Parking super close and free for 90min or in the garage. Little Goodie bag as you leave and treasure chest for the kids. I still don't love going to the dentist but Uptown Dentistry has made it so much easier to ensure it and I'll take the 30min ride each way to get there read more

You always hear people say that they hate going to the dentist, but not in the case for uptown dentistry. Been seeing Dr. Ruttencutter or I just call him Dr. Jeff and his team for the last 5-6 years. My dental appointments which I used to think as something dreadful has become something that i look forward to every 6 months. The clinic's cleanliness and their practice with hygiene has been over the top even prior to covid and their equipments are up to date. The place may also look intimidating and fancy but the staff are super warm and friendly.
