Not consumer compliant. Put an item on layaway gave a credit card for the deposit. After 3 days went back to explain I wouldn't be able to make the purchase and asked for a credit on my card. They didn't want to hear it. They would only give me a store credit. Never once did they explain their store practices about only giving store credit. Sure they are very friendly and helpful when you want to buy jewelry but try and explain you changed your mind in 3 days then watch the horns come out. Poor customer service. Not happy with them at all. Told my whole community about this store. There are so many better jewelry stores that actually care about customer service. Not this place. Their prices are high too. I've never been treated so shoddily! What a dump. The owner is pompous and rude. They wouldn't even honor a Pandora warranty from something I bought there. They told me that my wear and tear was excessive on a bracelet I had purchased there and worn only 4 times (because they had sold me a defective bracelet). I took it to another Pandora dealer who absolutely took care of me and treated me wonderfully even though I had not bought my bracelet or charms from them. His fine jewelery is overpriced at best. Save your money and shop with someone who will stand behind what they sell. read more

I would give negative stars if possible. The service here is atrocious. The owner is degrading and extremely snobbish, as is the rest of the staff. It was almost a chore getting anything done there as they acted as if I was wasting their time as they sighed and stared at me down the slope of their nose at me. My fiance purchased wedding set for me there. It was beautiful, but horrendously made. The side diamonds popped out of the ring four times within six months. Each time we took it back to get fixed, they planned on charging us for the repairs until we threw a fit. I teach, so it's not like I am abusing the ring. It comes off for any chores and when I go to the gym. Upon the third time this happened, we took the ring to a different jewler, and he was beyond appalled when he saw the ring. He said it was so poorly repaired and initially designed, that the band was a small step above being scrap metal. Inspecting it further, the new jewler discovered only a few of the prongs holding in the side stones were actually holding anything; the stones were just sitting in the band with nothing to keep them snug in there. The wedding band was the same way and it was never worn. Armed with pictures and written estimates of what should have been done, my fiance and I returned to get our money back. We were refused and extrememly offended by the poor customer service skills. We ate the loss and are investigating Joseph's with the BBB just so we wouldn't have to deal with them or their rude staff. read more

My fiancé and I went here to find his wedding band. Joseph was so helpful and there were so many options that were different and unique. We have visited about 7 other jewelry stores and nothing compared. His prices were very fair and the quality of his merchandise speaks for itself. I had a ring resized a few years ago and the owners son waited on me, ---- a very pleasant man. I had my Rolex serviced by Joseph's recently and was charged $680.00. I was told today by a neighbor, 3/14/18, he had his serviced by Newitt's last month and paid $398.00 plus tax, for the EXACT same thing. So I called back and talked to the same man, owner's son, and was told a song and dance about the other jewelry store's are not as good as his......I think I was over charged at least $200.00 and asked for a small rebate and was told "SORRY". PLEASE get a second price before dealing with these people ...... As I sent my wife into the store to retrieve my watch, she came out with a brown envelope. When I got home I opened the envelope there was no receipt, no bill, nothing stating how it was worked on, how it was repaired. It was as if it was never there. What if it breaks again? I called, he said everything was in the envelope, the envelope was empty. How can people, from up north come down here, open a business and cheat people. read more

If you take an item to be repaired be sure to request an itemized receipt. Their policy is to give you a small ticket with a number on it. I went over every item I brought in to be repaired. Bottom line is I left 5 items to be repaired,a ring, ankle bracelet, watch & two necklaces. I got four items back. One necklace was missing, a gold chain. Their resposne was you never left it, check your purse. I had a full conversation with the salesgirl concerning each item. She will not fess up and be honest. She even commented on the necklace, that it was a nice chain. She is totally holding back and I told her she was. I would have never taken the necklace back and I don't have it. I would take a lie detector test to prove it. The value is about $200 so it is just not worth everything I would have to go through for that amount. I have nothing to prove I left it there, everything protects them. It was left there and someone either has sticky fingers or is irresponsible, but I'm out a gold chain. I requested to view the video. No video over 48 hours they claim. Also, when you pick up you get no receipt for your repairs. They charge your credit card and that's it. Joseph claims he doesn't give itemized receipts for security reasons, if I lost the receipt someone can come in and pick up my jewelry. I told him that could easily be resolved and I even suggested how. I will never leave items anywhere without them being itemized The salesgirl was going back and forth asking repair questions to other employees. There is no telling what she did with my necklace. Once I gave it to her I wasn't paying close attention to what she did, I was on to the next item. Multiple items repaired at the same time was also a mistake. The story is too long to detail here but the bottom line is you have no protection at all. Their claim that this never happened before, who knows if that is true, it definitely happened this time. For me it was a hard lesson to learn, thank God not a real sentimental piece and not that expensive but I want to save someone from going through the same thing. Be very careful. read more
