I switched to Dr. Chang after hearing such great things about him, his staff and his office overall. I had my first appointment on 3/20/26 @ 2:30 and from the moment I walked in, the front desk girl with was friendly and made me feel very welcomed. The office was super clean, nice and organized. My appointment was at 230 and I didn't have to wait long to be called back. The office coordinator/manager (I think that's what her title is) was super friendly, as she made me feel very welcomed and comfortable in my new environment. She gave me an office tour (which was cool, as I never experienced that ANYWHERE), she was very thorough with the tour, explained how the office runs and took the time to talk with me and get to ME, not just as another patient, but an actual person! They even take pride in their patients by making them feel important and appreciated with fun giveaways and going that extra mile. I was even given a goodie bag which was super cool and 100x better than a small plastic bag with a toothbrush and toothpaste from my former dentist. The gal that took my x-rays was also super friendly and nice, as she took the time to make me feel welcomed and important by explaining everything she was doing, step-by-step. While waiting for the doctor, another gal walked in (name started with a K), to check on me and to give me an update on when the doctor would be in. She offered me a beverage and put Nextflix on so I can watch while I waited (the dental assistant's at my former dentist would leave me sitting there without even saying a word to me), again, above and beyond service at Dr. Chang's dental! Once the doctor came in he was also very friendly, talked to me and actually got to know me! He put my x-rays on the TV for a better view and was very thorough with explaining my x-rays to me. The Dr. Chang was very friendly, funny and kind as we discussed our lives, my teeth It was well the worth the wait in this dentist office and VERY pleased with Dr. Chang, as I learned my teeth weren't as good as they look, and I blame my old dentist for that. Now that I'm with Dr. Chang, I can finally properly get my teeth right! I'm very thankful for the several referrals I got from people, to switch to this dental office and I'm very glad I did. I urge everyone who sees this review, to ditch your old dentist and come to Dr. Chang's office, I swear you won't feel like just "another patient" and you'll be happy you made the switch... I am not usually one to leave a bad review but i had such a terrible experience that i hope somebody out there sees this and stays clear!! Especially military folks.. watch out. Back in 2024 i took 3 of my kids there for the first time for simple cleanings. None of my kids had cavities/ problems. I was in the office for 5 hours. Never in my life have i spent so long at ANY office for any of my kids. I left feeling very annoyed and also saw multiple red flags. Just a very off vibe. Last month i was overdue for a cleaning for myself. I decided to schedule an appointment there for convenience since i already knew the office. My mistake!! I was taken back to a room where the hygienist looked my teeth over and measured my gums. I knew i had a cavity and that was addressed by a "visiting" dentist. I will explain more on that later when i get to the billing/money part of this review. The hygienist proceeded to tell me that my gums were measuring up to a number 7 and most of the rest were 4,5,6. She then told me i had bone loss and gum disease and i needed to get a deep cleaning done. I was very confused since i had been to the dentist the year prior, had lots of X-rays and my gums were completely healthy. So i asked her, will my insurance pay for the deep cleaning? She had the front office lady come chat with me and bring a paper of all the things i needed done with their costs. Almost $600 for fixing my cavity. And $238 (approx, can't remember exactly) for each quadrant for the deep cleaning. I asked the office lady, will my insurance not cover this? And she said i just got off the phone with them- sadly no. I started to cry in the room and the hygienist came back in. I said can i still get my regular cleaning done today? She said no, it's against our policy to give you a regular cleaning. You need a deep cleaning. I ended up going to the front to check out where the front office lady assured me they would check back with my insurance and call me. I never received a phone call. The next day i decided to call around and get a second opinion. I called Dr. Craig Robinson and they got me in the NEXT day. I made sure they knew all of what had happened the day before and my prior experience. The hygienist measured my gums and NONE of the numbers matched what Dr Changs told me. She even triple checked. I was still recommended for a deep cleaning but she reassured me that my gums weren't bad and would be fine once cleaned up. She then gave me a regular cleaning and was very confused of why the other office refused to do so. This hygienist was experienced, patient and calmed my nerves. At their front office i was told i would pay $16 for my cavity to be fixed. $16!!!!! I then asked what i would have to pay for my deep cleaning and the receptionist told me it takes 2+ weeks for a preapproval from my insurance. I just found out yesterday i will be paying $51 per quadrant because my insurance approved it. To summarize it all.. Dr Changs just wants your money. That is all!! read more

What a great start to a new dental experience. I've had a preliminary appointment where I got my x-rays and assessment done. They really try to get to know who you are as a person and do a great job informing you of the process as they go. Everyone here is super nice and informative. Dr. Chang is thorough in his explanations and makes you comfortable even when you know you have some dental problems. My second appointment was for a deep cleaning and laser treatment. It was as comfortable as it could be, and Dr. Chang somehow didn't even make the numbing shots painful! The office is immaculate, with televisions, water bottles in a fridge, and a Keurig with many coffee and tea selections. The rooms in the back are just as clean with all the modern technology. After many years I'm very happy to have a new dental home. If you live in the area I would strongly consider using Dr. Chang and his amazing staff for your dental needs. read more

Cleanings are good but the billing is the worst. I have High PPO insurance but they keep charging me for basic cleaning and trying to push more unnecessary items on me. The get rich quick dentist. If you don't let them suck every penny out of your insurance they won't even work on you. Went for my routine cleaning and they refused to do it because they wanted to do deep cleaning which cost insurance about 10 times as much. This is a cosmetic procedure to me. I want to begin with saying I don't like writing anything bad about anyone. But I've given this place 2 years to try to prove differently to me, and I feel it's only right for customers to know. Down to the point, Dr. Chang's office is about the money and reviews. That's his top priority. It really is. They even ask for you to give them reviews. Just be a good dentist and you'll get reviews, don't ask people. He's made me get this new technology type retainer that other dentists (I've asked them) haven't heard about that was suddenly going to fix my clenched jaw but it didn't. Just made me with $750 less money. The thing that hurt me the absolute worst was my permanent bottom retainer broke and was stabbing me in my tongue and my nurse advice line told me to call my dentist. I'm literally 4 days away from being due with my baby and live 50 min away from him (on Fort Irwin) and it's the middle of July (105 degrees out) and he just kept telling the receptionist for me to just stop in to see if he could even do anything about it. I asked her if I could tell him what's going on and so he could let me know over the phone if he could help instead of taking off work, driving, only to be told her couldn't or could only to charge me either way. I started tearing up on the phone because I desperately needed immediate help, they said they'd call me back and they never did. That one hurt and was the last straw for me, because I now know for a fact he doesn't actually care about his patients. I knew since the first time I went there something felt off, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Several people I know have left his office and switched to Dr. Robinson and I just kept going to Dr. Changs. But once I called the Ortho connected to Dr. Robinson's office, and when I told them my retainer and having my baby any day, they literally said come in as soon as I could and they removed it for free....I'm not even their patient! They just cared for me! And the ladies at Dr. Robinson's office were so kind! I'm switching to him. I know I'll be in good care there. Dr. Chang's office also makes you wait FOREVER to be seen. I'm talking about an hour just in the waiting room. Also, there's all these strange prize things they do for referrals (just be a good dentist and you'll get referrals instead of bribing people into bringing them in). He's also recommended more work for me to get done than any dentist I've ever seen. The saving grace there are the hygienists there. They are nice and friendly. Again, I feel awful submitting this, but I hate seeing people get screwed over. Especially us military related folks who move around so much and get screwed around so much, and it's just not fair. I'm sure he's a nice guy, with a family to feed and bills to pay, but he's not the kind of dentist I want. So I'm leaving and just want other people to be forewarned. It's only right. read more

A total disappoint!! I went here because I was coming due for my civilian dental exam which is required for the military reserves. Arrived 10 minutes early to fill out forms... sat for another 30 minutes. Finally was taken back 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time.... I handed them my form for the military making sure they could complete it... I was assured by two people they could complete it that day. I was having a trouble spot so the hygienist looked and they said it was a boarder line cavity. A simple appointment that would take maybe 30 minutes took darn close to an hour. The dentist goes back and forth to all the patients and therefore it makes everyone's appointment time longer! After all that was said and done I left. Forgot about the form and now I followed up about the form and found out I was completely LIED to!!! They can not do my form and on top of that the hygienist I had was back there talking about me. Someone opened up the door and I hear her yell "that's here that's the one I was talking about!" Totally unprofessional! This is probably the best dentist I've visited in all my life. The employees are super nice and they even show you around the office at first and they make you feel very comfortable. The assistant nurses ask about you and they make you feel very comfortable and aware of what happens and the procedures that follow. Called the office on Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving and was told that they were closed for the holiday. I told them that a crown fell out and I was told to come in on Monday but I had to move it to Tuesday. I was called Thanksgiving evening and was told to come to the office at 9am the next morning. After fixing the crown, I asked why the change and was told that it was important to get it fixed as soon as possible. What a great Dentist, and crew. read more
