My father got on well with the various folks who cared for him. They are short-staffed, and yet they provided excellent care. My Dad is a very slow eater, so I would try to make sure I would bring him snacks or even a lunch. Because I'm sure they would take his try up before he was finished eating. I loved that the rooms were large and that they were free to roam indoors and outdoors. No TV's in each room. The TV room was also a dining room, so they would have to leave during cleaning and the TV wasn't on during meals. On the day we picked Dad up, a few of the staff and myself were in tears. I loved them & they loved my Dad. He would still be there except it was much too far to travel to visit. The facility was good about contacting me about Any incidents injuries or behavior changes; but I was blown away to find that my father's toe nails had not been trimmed during his whole stay. I had his nails clipped just before I admitted him in May and informed them that I wanted to keep his nails in good shape because they are so thick and need to be trimmed by the doctor only. I was assured that he would be taken care of. My Dad's toe nails have grown in the shape of a J and presses into the flesh of his toes. A fungus on one toe and mad dad said that it hurt him. He had An awful smelling brown substance under in between his toes. We are waiting for his appointment with the podiatrist. I was told that my father's toenails were not cut because my father refused to have them cut. My father is in no mental state to make decisions about his care and I was never informed. This saddened me and I was very embarrassed at the hospital when he asked me about it. This is not ok. Otherwise, they took good care of my dad from here to ankle.

I'm quite particular about what kind of touch I receive and I'm seriously glad to report that I totally trusted her knowledge of the body and felt very comfortable communicating with her through each and every step. First of all, before the massage as I was telling her about my issues with my wrist... and shoulders... and neck... and spine... and the list seems endless sometimes.... I felt like she was really listening and paying close attention. She had me do some tests for carpal tunnel, assessed my posture, and answered all my questions so honestly and thoroughly that I immediately felt I was in knowledgeable and capable hands. I'm often not a big fan of deep pressure, sometimes it feels like therapists just try to smash though the muscle tension without much sensitivity, but with Mira I had total trust to go deep. She has such a great technical knowledge that every point she went into felt right, like really right, like not just nicey-nice feel nice but seriously mechanically right. She spent a luxuriously long time with each area she was working on and was patient with my body. It really was so wonderful to be attended to so thoroughly. The cooked them home cooked healthy meals and often times you find the residents in the rec room together watching TV or eating family style. My dad is a handful but they have worked with hospice and gotten him comfortable and feeling like he is at his home. Any time I call the nurse answers and knows every wheee my dad is and hands him the phone. I live quite far away and can not get there often but I know he is well taken care of. He always tells me that the nurses are wonderful.

They receive kickbacks from the company and this is how Aaspen rotates the residents of not staying too long. Have filed several complaints with San Bernardino county and am coordinating with a legal team to resolve the horrible experience I had with them. The people they have working for them (the term staff is not deserving of them) are not even certified or licensed professionals. They all look like dirty tweakers. Jaja (the care coordinator) delayed what should have been a routine urinalysis by twenty days. Her behavior was unprofessional, unpleasant and uncaring 100%. I asked for her supervisor Josie to call me which never happened. Today I finally got to speak with Ena, the Director of Medical Care only to be "redirected " to another home health agency. Again, 100% unprofessional behavior. If the director of medical care penalizes a patient for advocating for her well being and health, imagine how the rest of the staff behave. I asked to speak with Ulysses (the director of this agency) and I was not able to do so. I would never recommend this agency and if I could give them zero stars I would. But that's not an option.
