Coconut shrimp, loaded baked potato, and corn!

Josie's is a home town, family restaurant in Coalport, PA! Home of delicious wings, lobster wraps, salads, pasta, dinners, and a huge breakfast challenge! I can't recommend this place high enough. We usually come in two-three times a week, and are always greeted with excellent service, a big smile, and we feel like family....not customers. There are so many items on her menu that we love, but some of our go to favorites are: Sweet and Sassy Wings (both wet and dry) Lobster wraps Turkey dinner Breakfast (I recommend eggs any way you can think of them, omelettes, bananas foster French toast, S'mores French toast, and you can't forget her fresh sausage patties!) Cobb Salad Meatloaf dinner Loaded French fries (cheese, bacon, chives, sour cream) Fresh soups (can't go wrong with any of them) Country fried steak dinner As you can see we can go on and on. Now not only is the food delicious, but the service is quick, the coffee is fresh, and your order is cooked fresh regardless of how busy they become. You can't beat the quality!! Last, and certainly not least, is owner JoAnn who not only will check on you, but follow up on any compliment or complaint, will sit and have a conversation with you, and take any suggestion openly and graciously. She gives so much back to the community and we love getting to know her more during every visit! You owe it to yourself to check this place out! You'll be glad you did!

Holy hotcakes, this is THE place for a great breakfast! Delicious! Fresh! Made from scratch! You can't ask for more! If you're feeling up to it, try the breakfast challenge. That's finishing the large breakfast which is eggs, meat, potatoes, and two gigantic, saucer sized pancakes! If you can do it - a Josie's tee shirt is yours. Kids breakfast is an adorable teddy bear pancake! A short and beautiful 1 hour drive from State College that's well worth the trip. A great family weekend morning get away. Enjoy wildlife including wild turkey and deer along the beautiful tree lined roads. If you're camping at Gallitzin this is a must do! On the way in, the way out, or when you want a great meal without the camper/camp fire burden of cooking. Heck, I'd do all three. Oh and take a look at the prices! :)

Their burgers are really good. The outside dining area is nice to sit and enjoy in the summer and the staff there are always super nice

It's rare that I know I want to go somewhere, but every so often I surprise everyone and pick a place. Pirates Cove is kind of an institution in the area, but mostly for the ice cream. Notice I keep saying something about the ice cream. There will be more to that later in the review. Obviously this place is more busy when it is peak summer in the area. When we arrived, it was nearing the end of the summer season and all the campers in the area were returning back to wherever they came from. We should have come for just the ice cream. We actually came and got dinner and then ice cream. I did a quick once over of the menu and didn't really see much that was appealing. I went with a reliable chicken tender dinner. Well, it's usually a reliable dinner. This was not the most pleasant chicken tender dinner. The highlight of this was not the chicken tendies, but the French fries were the highlight...that is until the ice cream. The chicken tenders were decent, but you can tell they were you run of the mill, out of the freezer, chicken tenders. I asked for barbecue sauce and had to wait for that to show up to start eating them. They weren't bad, until I reached the last one. They were stuck together and because of that, it wasn't cooked the whole way through. Where they connected, it was cold. Not to even mention that the vegetable, I chose green beans, tasted just like the can they came from the can and was heated in a microwave. But, let's talk about that ice cream. It was definitely worth the wait and agony. I kind of already knew what I wanted by the end of the meal. I had been eyeing up the ice cream menu during the whole meal. Pirates Cove's take on the blizzard is called a tornado. I had been craving some peanut butter and they have a Reese's Pieces Tornado. I went with the large size and even though it was huge, I did not regret it. After the less than stellar meal, I dug into that ice cream and was so happy. The ratio of ice cream to pieces was on point. Every bite I took had some pieces in it and it was a delight. It kind of erased the memory of the lackluster meal that I had.

We were pleasantly surprised to find the town celebrating its Homecoming Festival. The streets were closed, bands were playing, and the entire atmosphere was lively and so much fun. The patio had about a one-hour wait, so we opted for the first available seating in the bar area, and it turned out to be a great choice. The service was friendly and attentive, and everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I ordered the Chicken Milanese, and it was absolutely delicious. The portion was very generous, and the chicken was perfectly cooked--moist, tender, and full of flavor. It was served with creamy garlic mashed potatoes and a fresh green salad, making for a fantastic meal. Between the delicious food, excellent service, and the unexpected festival atmosphere, this was a memorable dining experience. I would definitely recommend Pour on Center and look forward to returning! **Everywhere I go, I bring my Yeti filled with reverse osmosis water. At this restaurant, I was asked to remove it from the table because they don't allow outside beverages. This is only the second restaurant I've ever visited that has had this policy, so I just wanted to give others a heads-up. If you usually bring your own water like I do, you may want to leave it in the car.

We enjoyed some delicious cocktails and hadn't noticed that the meal was taking a while until the waiter informed us there had been a mix up and the order didn't get fired right away. They comped an round of drinks and part of our dinners. The food was worth the wait: my steak was a perfect medium rare, tasty chimichurri sauce, perfect green beans. My wife loved her chicken piccata. A great option for a special meal.
