Nice outdoor seating area. Drinks are great. Didn't have any food, but it looked delicious. Service was good. Brough a bottle of water for us to enjoy. Four star, I'll be back to try food! Then maybe 5

We decided not to take the turnpike home from Pittsburgh. My wife looked up places while we were driving and we stopped here. Wow. It was great. I wish we had something just like this in my town. Great service. Great alcohol selection. We chatted a bit with Andrew who provided friendly service. The menu had good options. We decided on a burger. It was delicious. Very!!! The fresh cut fries were good. I would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Great friendly service, with good recommendations. A lot of great items on the menu. I've come back several times and will continue to!

This place is one of the best restaurants I've visited all year! They truly are a GastoPub! Wonderful menu! Love the Brussels sprout appetizer, chicken sandwich and burger. Seems rather basic but not here! Every is notch above other similar places Our server was great, too! Can't wait to return!

There was a great blend of spicy and a surprise sweet almost maple hint that I wouldn't think I'd like if I saw it beforehand. It was so good I will be thinking of this sauce forever since we are just passing through on a road trip. It's next door to the hotel and when we went it wasn't so busy that we were ignored but they staff were certainly being kept on their toes (Father's Day weekend, graduations, hotel guests...). They have both indoor seating (complete with a bar if you'd like to sit there) and a really nice looking patio area. The food was fantastic. Our server was great too; she was really friendly and helpful with recommendations. I ordered the reuben sandwich, which was deeeelicious. The salmon was apparently wonderful too, from what my partner said. And I ordered the macaroni and cheese from the kids menu but it was huge. My baby loved it and since it was so huge there was too much for her, so I had the rest at a later time. They had a really good strawberry lemonade, of which we (my daughter and I, because of course she had to have some) drank several glasses. Our server even brought me a to-go cup of it because she said it looked like we were slowing down and may be near finishing. I didn't ask her to bring me a cup of it to go, and wouldn't have thought to ask, so I was very happy she brought it for the rest of our ride to Cleveland. But perhaps my favorite part of the meal were the appetizers. We ordered some macaroni and jalapeño bites which were a hit as far as myself and the little one were concerned, with not too much heat that she could enjoy them. The restaurant has a Brussels sprouts appetizer, but they do it as an "of the week" special. The week we were here it was inspired by elote, so it had some corn and cheese and stuff on it and they were so good. I love Brussels sprouts, and will happily try them prepared in a new way. As of June 2026, I think they are short staffed. Our food took a little longer than usual but that was ok; it gave us a chance to chat and relax. Just be patient if you visit in the near future since they are down an employee or two! But even with that, it was a pleasant evening, the staff were fantastic and helpful, and the food totally hit the spot.

But we decided to not spend more time for finding something else and stepped in. It was very charming, surprisingly well kept,of course old,but in a good way. Menu was intriguing, modern and seasonal, which I value the most. Waiter was engaging in our menu exploration and was knowledgeable. Now to the food.. cauliflower appetizer made as General Tso was one other best cauliflower in my entire life. Lightly fried, not mushy, but with exact chicken like texture in divine sauce, kicking spicy with sweet undertones. In the same way not overpowering to forget about cauliflower itself. A+ for that dish!!! Pirogi was a little doughy on my opinion, but taste was good. Asian bowl with salmon had great flavor profile: cabbage salad was beautiful and freshly crisp, carrots were marinated perfectly with slight vinegary flavors, bok choy was unbelievably delicious. I asked for medium salmon, mine was almost well done, but taste was good and rice in the middle wasn't sticky and flavorful, but had watery texture and was bland. Overall, this is an amazing festival of flavors and technically challenging menu. Bravo!!!

A Hidden Gem Worth Leaving the Turnpike For! After making…read morethe drive between Northern Virginia and Ohio for more than 20 years, we couldn't believe we had never discovered Out of the Fire Café before. Anyone who regularly travels the Pennsylvania Turnpike knows how hard it is to find a truly memorable place to eat. This one is absolutely worth the short detour. The atmosphere is charming, the view is beautiful, and the food exceeded every expectation. We had to try their famous mushroom soup, and even though I'm not normally a mushroom fan, it was hands-down one of the best cups of soup I've ever had. The smoked salmon salad was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon Sandwich special, and every bite was packed with incredible flavor. Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She made us feel right at home and added to what was already a wonderful dining experience. We finished with the Bananas Foster. While it wasn't the tableside flaming presentation you'd find at a fine-dining restaurant, the flavor was outstanding and the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. We'll definitely be making Out of the Fire Café a tradition on our future trips. If you're traveling the Pennsylvania Turnpike, do yourself a favor and make the stop--you won't regret it!
