Well, I've heard about Jot's for a long time, since I was a kid. That was a long time ago. And evidently, a long time ago since they've worked on the place. The Carpet was musty, so it was no fun breathing. Since there is no A/C, you would normally leave the door open with the screen locked, but the screen door can't be locked (broken). The sliding door lock is broken too, you have to put a pin in a hole they drilled. The back balcony is all shared, so you really want to lock your door. The walls looked painted, why they didn't bother replacing the carpet and fixing the doors is anyone's guess. The staff were friendly, and obviously trying to defend the place. This is supposed to be a resort. I've seen better motels. They have new condo's but I didn't check them out, perhaps they're better. The view is fantastic however. So if you're going to stay there, ask to see the room first, and check the door locks. Also check the sheets, ours had a hair on the sheet, (gross), and we had them change the sheets. There was also a stain on the undersheet, and one on one of the chairs. How's it go? eeew! read more

Altho the location, on the river, is wonderful....the condos we've experienced the 2 night we stayed aren't so wonderful. 1st one they gave us keys to had not been cleaned. Old, stinky carpet...filthy! Trash in trash cans, etc. We went back to the front desk & they gave us the condo next door. It was a considerable improvement, but stinky-musty. Not just "damp on the coast" musty... not deep cleaned in awhile & has housed smokers stinky-musty. Full "ashtray" on the deck....dishwasher full of dirty dishes....and pile of bat guano on deck! Yes....lots of bats here! Resort has been here for years, but needs a LOT of updating & maintenance. For $200 a night for a 2 bedroom/1 bath condo....we were so very disappointed. Gave 2 stars.... 1 for the view & 1 because the guy at the front desk was nice! But we won't ever be coming back! read more

Worst Place I've Every Stayed! We got in late from on the road and this was about the only place available. I shared a 2-queen room with my brothers. When I went to go to sleep around 11:30 pm I discovered that the bed sheets were filthy and obviously not changed. I called the front desk with no answer, so I went to the office and knocked on the door. Eventually a guy answered, and I explained the situation. He said there was nothing he could do other than switch rooms. It was around 12:00 am by then. I could wake up my brothers who were already asleep for quite a while and move all our stuff to a new room or I could just sleep on top of the bed coverings rather than wake them, and address the situation with management in the am. And who's to say the other room would have been any better? In the morning I explained the problem to the manager and her reply was they couldn't do anything about it because we were offered another room. I said I didn't want to inconvenience the other parties that late and asked for at least a reduction in the room cost for the inconvenience. The manager declined and would not give me the owner's phone number but said she would have him call. Do you think he called? Of course not. If I could give this place a zero I would. Don't stay here! Go to the next town first. read more

We had a great time at Jot's. We are from brown, crowded, So. Cal and staying at Jot's was exactly what we needed. We loved our room with it's great view of the Rogue River right where it meets the Pacific Ocean and not to mention the BEAUTIF UL bridge!!. We spent a lot of time watching the wildlife along the river, deer, raccoons, lots of different birds--right from the chairs in our room. The price was right, and we found the staff to be excellent and very friendly! Gave us all sorts of tips on what to see--where the best breakfast places are in town and generally just made our stay better. They were very accomodating when we needed to add my daughter who joined us up there from Humboldt CA. We had such a great time and enjoyed our stay so much that we are hoping to move up to the area in the future. We didn't get to fish because the fish weren't "in town" that weekend (the staff let us know ahead of time and did not try to sell us something that wasn't happening at the time, which I really appreciate!!)But next time we go, and there WILL be a next time, we will catch Jerry's river speed boats from right outside our room door and try that adventure next time. I'll start out on a positive note..... The young man at the front desk was sweetheart and was super informative... The view from the room was amazing!!! The bar stopped here!!! We were on a road trip with our family and it was getting late so referred by a friend to go to Gold Beach, we got into town about 10:30 pm and we were super tired. This was the only hotel within 50 plus miles that still had a vacancy, NOW I KNOW WHY!!!! The room at night was out of date and not to clean (room 210 I think or 225), but when we awoke in the morning we got the whole picture of what a dump this really was!! As we slept beetles and spiders inundated our room... As I inspected the room, there were spider eggs infesting the ironing board that hadn't been used since 1970, but it was at our disposal if needed....NO THANK YOU Next there were spider webs all over the windows in the bathroom and over the other bathroom sink. I looked under the sitting bench and it was infested with spiders and eggs. In the corners of the room we slept in were dead bugs in webs....So when was the last time they cleaned this room???? In addition the beds were hard as a rock, the sheets, mattress pads were stained (Thank GOD we brought our own pillows and blankets' but, they did not go past the threshold at my home when we arrived back...my thought was BEDBUGS!!!) the carpet was stained, not vacuumed for god knows how long.... The slider only locked with a pin and the chairs on the shared sitting area were old, broken, and plastic. Upon check out I took a few pictures to share with the front office of the disarray this room was in, hoping for an apology and a refund..... NOT A CHANCE the blonde woman who claimed to be the "SORT OF" manager told me that they were "BUSY" and short staffed, the rooms don't always get cleaned!!!! WHAT??? She also informed me "She is not giving any refunds" and with that she stormed into the office and would not give me anything else!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR LIFE!!! I stayed here on my way up the Oregon Coast from CA and again when returning back home. I had different types of rooms, both were dog friendly and very comfortable. I loved being right on the water, seeing the boats fishing up and down, and the people cleaning the daily catch. I had the best fish and chips I've ever had at the restaurant. I am looking forward to returning soon. read more

I wouldn't willingly go here again. The rooms are nice, but the design is outdated. The bedding, microwave, and telephone that's inside the room look like they're from the 20th century. However, it is a fairly clean room + bathroom. I was actually surprised at how clean the bathrooms were. Parking was also very, very spacious, and there's also a great view of the river from the rooms. The whole place however, made me feel like I was at some sort of old camp cabin. The staff are super friendly, and the 24 hour lobby + souvenir shop are pretty cool. The complimentary breakfast is literally just coffee, some muffins, and a banana..... The room is fairly clean, like I stated before, but the smell in the room makes it seem like it's reaaallly old, and since they allow pets, some rooms smell even worse. read more

Room was clearly(by the smell) a smoking room in its past life. Very musty. There were other rooms available that said no smoking on the door, but she gave me this one anyway. I've stayed in most other motels in the area, and they were ALL better than Jots---at a way cheaper rate. Won't stay here again! Well...I was scared with the reviews... but it was 2:30 am and the only place on Northern CA coast or Southern OR... up until Gold Beach...We had to stay... All I was hoping for was clean enough to sleep and no bed bugs... well it was that. I thought it was decent. It had a little musty smell, but not bad, clean sheets, fairly ok comfortable bed, good shower, in room coffee and hair dryer. The view is Fantastic. I probably wouldn't want to stay with the price for a 1 or 2 star hotel... but I would if it was less expensive. Decent place. Adding the 3rd star was for the view. read more

This place has been there forever. It remains locally owned, and the folks there try hard. Yeah, the outside is a bit weathered, but it is a beach town. This place is a motel of the old school variety, and by that standard it is excellent. Our room was spacious and very clean. No funny smells, The bathroom was spotless. Beds were new, bedding was good, television was new. There's a nice, clean, laundry facility. If you need a gym, or the crummy breakfast that's typical of most modern franchise accommodations, then look elsewhere. Jot's is a comfortable place to stay. It is superior to most of the local competition, and the prices are hard to beat. read more

Excellent service! Rode in as one of our stops on our honeymoon ride. The front desk ladies, Kris and Josie, were friendly and very helpful. The recommended eating at Spinners, and provided a 15% off hand written coupon. Very nice! The room was clean, good bedding, firm bed, and the hot tub was clean, and the view was fantastic from the back sliding glass door. We will definitely be back again, and we shall also eat at Spinners again! Pricing is very reasonable. read more

We checked in and room wasn't ready, so we waited for 1/2 hour for it to be cleaned. Then when we walked into the condo there was 20+beer bottles on the deck the carpet was filthy, there was ashes on the bed side table that smelt like pot. There were cobwebs all over inside the condo. We called the front desk and told them we either need the room cleaned again or a different room. It took about another 45 minutes to find us another room because they didn't want to clean it. We wanted something That was equal to what we had paid for. Then they didn't want to accommodate us untill we said we were going to cancel. Then magicaly they found a room. By the time we finally got into our second room we had to call the front desk to come clean the cob webs out of the loft bedroom Sky light and all the windows looking out of the loft. We checked the towels and bedding to make sure things were clean, and they were. The gal that finally came and helped us was super sweet and very apologetic. I ended us cleaning some of the stuff so it was acceptable. We would have left but it was a holiday weekend and there was no other rooms available in town. We will never go back. It was probably the worst experience I have ever had as far as how I was treated. It's to bad. The views and grounds are amazing. The cleanliness of the entire building were full of cobwebs. read more

Okay where do I start, I booked a room for a getaway with my wife for a little R&R so I assume jot's would be a fairly nice decision but after receiving my keys and entering my room I realized that was not a very good decision I guess at that point I should have went back to the office and ask for my money back but instead I tried to make the best of the weekend the bathroom had old soap from previous customers the toilet look like it had never been cleaned there was old coffee in the coffee pot the mattress to the bed was like sleeping on a sheet of plywood thank you Josh for my new back pain I opened the back door to look at the view and realized I share a back porch with the entire floor so definitely no privacy or opening your back door or curtains unless you feel like sharing your world with the rest of the floor level customers so much for privacy I went to turn on the AC and realized there is no AC so I had to open the back door and share my world with the rest of the customers Saturday I decided to take a little nap due to not getting any sleep the night prior and was awoken in the middle of the day buy some Hotel staff as I stand there in my underwear and ask him what the hell he wants he wants to just change out the menu in the hotel itinerary like that can't wait till I leave? So I pretty much spent the weekend without any sleep so if you are headed over to the coast for a relaxing weekend I strongly do not recommend the high traffic boat ramp run down Hotel called jots read more

The room we had was the most vile room we have ever stayed in. It smelled very musty, old furnishings, carpet stained and stinky, there was ivy growing in to the room under the sliding glass doors that wouldn't open easily, there was mold in the bathtub and the beds were awful. My wife and dog got violently sick both nights due to the smell and mold we weren't aware of. Had we been able to find another hotel we would have asked for our money back. It was our 20th anniversary, one we won't soon forget. The view was beautiful though. The place should be turned in to the Health Department or OSHA, or be condemned until it is updated. Save your money. Rooms aren't like they look online and they can make you sick. We will NEVER stay there again. read more

I Give them one star for posting misleading info on their website. They gave us a room with a beat up rusty fridge that wasn't working and door didnt close unless u kick it shut. Complained about it and they told us to unplug it as the freezer was iced over. That took about half the day and our leftovers were bad and had to throw them away which was a waste of money. Secondly, they advertise they have queen beds when they barely fit two adults comfortably. When I asked them about them, they stated that they are the "old type" queens. Wow they must be really old. Also killed 2 spiders in the room. It was humid when we went and their was no fan or any type of air circulation in the room. We had a rude neighbor who smoked on balcony and we asked him to not smoke on balcony (which are their rules) and they said no problem and went to smoke out front. Had to sleep with slider open since it was the only moving air and woke up to the smoke coming in from balcony. Had to shut the slider and sweat to death. They claim it was renovated. It had lenolium from 1970 and a yucky old moldy shower tub door, also old carpet. They painted and had new balcony fencing in between the rooms, guess thats what they call renovated. Also didnt offer any type of grab and go continental breakfast due to COVID-19. How convenient for them. The last motel we stayed at offered Jimmy Dean breakfast biscuits to heat up in your room, plus wrapped muffins and juice boxes. Come on, they can inpress a little better.. When checking out I asked for a discount since we had to throw our leftovers away and she said no and would inform manager on monday. Of course he hasn't called. I would never recommend this place if you like clean and nice. Only nice thing this place offered was a view. read more

The aw moment lasted as long as the first view out the patio doors looking at the bridge. It was beautiful. After that our stay wasnt all that pleasant. This was our first and most definitely our last. Im not sure how long it had been since they used a brush inside the toilet bowl, for starters. There was soap from a previous guest on the top rail of the shower along with their curly hairs they left behind, just to name some of the more disgusting observations. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN WHEN WE ASKED FOR OUR MONEY BACK. The the back patio was a shared patio with everyone on that floor so the beautiful view was quickly ruined by the regular passer-by'ers out our back door. We decided this wasn't awesome but wasn't terrible. We decide to just deal with it and continue trying to enjoy the weekend. The next morning was rough when we woke up barely able to move due to the awful bed!!! For some odd reason, later we decided to lay down again on the board with springs for a nap once the ruckus died down outside. We were rudely woken up by the motel manager banging on our door wanting to replace the menu in our guest services book. As my husband stood there in his underwear amazed by the demands, we didnt even receive an apology?? It seemed like the manager was in the midst of a tantrum. As we left very early Sunday morning with our very sore backs and tired heads we agreed we would never stay there again, lesson learned. After the feeling of the staff watching us leave like we had done something wrong?? I decided i would write a review to warn others...... if you are looking for accommodations in Gold Beach, this might not be the place!!! We love Gold Beach and have stayed at many other places but none have been like Jot's. The rooms and the staffs attitudes are as crusty as the place looks on the outside. Be warned. If you are looking to relax and feel renewed, keep looking. Oh and by the way, the only air conditioning you have is opening up the back door to the general public so dont count on privacy either! read more

We loved our stay at Jot's! Everything you could want from a hotel, huge indoor (and outdoor) pool and hot tub, spacious rooms, waterfront decks, roomy clean showers with awesome water pressure, friendly staff, great starter breakfast, cute gift shop, and most importantly beautiful views of the bay, right under the bridge! The only bad thing I can say is it's too tempting to hang out on the docks and patio all day watching the seals. Best spot in Gold Beach! read more

They had vacancy in one of the busiest weekends, memorial day weekend. The rooms were emasculate and the people were super sweet. The view from the porch from the back door was gorgeous! Loved seeing the bridge, lake and the jet boats. My husband and I WILL be back!!! read more

Just stayed here over the 4th of July weekend. A nice place. The outside looks a little rustic (maybe outdated), but the inside was nice and modern. The beds were what you would expect from a decent motel - not broken down, but not hard as a rock. There was also a selection of soft and firm pillows on both beds, so everyone in my family found one that was comfortable. It is right on the river and has a really nice view. The official city fireworks display is set off over the river so you get an amazing view from the balcony. The balcony of the room is a shared balcony with all of the rooms on that floor, so you do get people walking past your patio door. The wifi was included with the room price (you aren't charged extra for it) but the connection was horrible - I was only able to connect about 1% of the time, the rest of the time the status was "connecting..." and "obtaining IP address..." At one point my Android phone listed the status as something like, "Connection poor, not recommended." For a phone you're better off using your data plan - didn't look to see if there was a wired jack in the room for a laptop. The pools and hot tub were nice. The outdoor pool was a bit chilly, but the indoor pool was warmer. The pools and hot tub were clean and well maintained. Parking was spacious - never had to hunt for a parking space. Overall a nice place to stay, and I would/will stay there again - it is the nicest place I've found in Gold Beach, OR, and I've stayed at several places there. read more

There is a new restaurant. Literally the worst place I have ever been. I don't think there are enough characters allowed to write this full review. The waitress was horrendous. She said two words, yes and no. There is a "bar" and lounge side although there is no alcohol there. The food wasn't even worth eating(hence, We didn't eat it). The garlic bread would have been better if you took 3 pounds or butter off it. The popcorn shrimp was probably bought from a homeless person on the side of the road. Frozen, thawed, and refrozen multiple times. The fish and chips looked like a dragon who had massive diarrhea, shitting on a plate. There was hair (6inch) in the food and the waitress responded with, "oh ya" then walked away. Thankfully they took it off the bill, because we asked. We got the bill for $13.00. Then received a receipt for $25. I asked about it and from afar the manager says, "she added wrong" I would rather eat lava and then have to go back to this place. read more
