I have stayed at the Wild Rivers Motor Lodge several times over the years. It's a very nice roadside "motel" that is clean and the rooms are cozy. It's always a pleasure staying at a place like this because it's a break from the cookie-cutter hotels at which I usually stay. There can be some road noise since these rooms are right off of the highway but it's nothing that has kept me awake. The owner and staff are very pleasant and accommodating. I especially like the pet policy. If you're traveling through the area or need to stay for a visit to the beautiful area, I highly recommend staying here, especially if you have dogs. read more

I realize that I was charged 2x for our stay. Once At the property and also on Booking.com. It seemed like an easy fix, when I spoke with Maggie she insisted that there was not a double charge. I explained the issue multiple times but it was obvious she wasn't hearing me. She told me, "it was your choice to use booking.com, it's not my problem." Then she hung up on me. I called and left a message to speak with the owner but have not heard back. It seems that this would be something that does happen and can be resolved, without attitude and poor customer service. read more

The day manager is an ass and he yelled at my wife when she told him we woke up and had ants all over the room. She ask to be compensated but he said rudely all we do is call the exterminator. Don't stay here. read more

You get what you pay for. So, you have to go in with that expectation. The rooms are cheap, clean and well taken care of. The location is convenient. But, you can't really ask for more than that. The walls are very thin, the beds are squeaky and hard, and the showers are lukewarm. And it's obvious that the rooms don't receive very frequent touch ups. Not a bad experience overall, for the price you pay. I've definitely stayed in worse. read more

This place was awful, my fiance was staying here for work. When he had gotten there the person who had checked him in had taken his card information in case of any damages caused by our dog. Our dog had not created any damages while being there. He gets a call because they tried charging him $120 dollars for dog hair being in the room. He was told he never disclosed that he had an animal. When the person who checked him in had known he had a pet. The manager Brett Burgess had cussed out my fiance then made it to where he's never allowed there again because we were upset that he had tried to charge him $120 dollars for zero damages. I was astounded when I saw this facility in person! The online pictures ARE NOT a true representation of the motor lodge. The facility itself is run down and the landscape is overrun with weeds and large fallen plants. When I entered the bathroom I suspect there is mold on the ceiling. The shower was filthy & moldy. Hair was left on the sink counter & it appeared the room had not been cleaned. The people that stayed in the room above us were up until 1:00 am playing loud music, stomping around and dropping things on the floor. No phone in the room to call about it & the office is only open from 9:00am to 9:00pm. read more

The road noise was the only complaint. several days earlier I stayed in a hotel costing $100 more a night, it was not as nice as this one. BEWARE: My family, including my rather long haired surfer son, were charged an extra $200 for "cleaning fees". The manager claimed they smelled pot and photographed a "bud" on the floor. The evidence picture they showed was so obviously of lichen it was laughable. I was there. There was no smell and no pot was brought into the room. Successfully fought the charges. So this place was a pleasant stay on out journey up the Oregon coast! It IS dated and tired, but our room was clean and comfortable. We have a dog so finding a decent place that accepts pets can be difficult. This place charges $20. A little steep but acceptable. Some of the rooms looked updated w A/Cs in the walls. Ours had a nice ceiling fan....honestly a air conditioner is probably never needed. So summary... clean, comfy and I felt it was safe. Not a bad stopover when needing a rest from the road! Large parking lot that seemed pretty safe looking. Friendly staff who helped make from food recommendations! Room was about what you expect but it was clean & the bed was comfy. Floor had stains and looked like it needed a serious carpet wash but ‍ fridge was a bonus as well! The carpet was filthy couldn't walk on the carpet without our feet getting all black had to wear shoes. I asked if it was a room that had dogs and he said no. That was obviously a lie. It also had a very strong chemical smell. My husband had a rash all over his face and neck. Went to the urgent care and they said that they are bedbugs bites. Obviously they don't wash their pillows or linens, The room needs a deep cleaning. I called the hotel and he just acted like it was not a big deal. I will never ever stay there again. read more

This place has new owners who are trying to make it better. They don't allow locals from within 55 miles to stay there, which prevents a lot of the weirdos who abuse budget motels from showing up. When we were there, the clientele appeared to be all respectable road travelers. We got a pet room and almost immediately noticed the floor turned our socks black. We were traveling with toddlers and had to restrict where they went pretty hardcore. The corners of the bathroom floor were terrifying. It has vaulted ceilings, which is cool and the beds were comfy. It was quiet enough for us. There was a convenient place to walk pets nearby. I imagine non-pet rooms aren't as dirty? read more

So first of all my roommate and I checked in to a motel at night when we finally got there and just to find out there are a whole lot of rules that we weren't aware of until AFTER getting into the room to see this big list of stupid rules. I could see that they were sorta trying but unfortunately there were more bad things than good. We were in a non-smoking room and we found a cigarette burn on the curtain and it smelled like cigarettes when we walked in and there was a fee of you left the room smelling of cigarettes. It was also a room for no pets. There were "special towels" only for animals. We clearly didn't have any pets. Another reason that we got this room. Last thing was that I almost hurt myself by getting scared of a spider that was in the bathroom. I honestly wouldn't recommend this place. There also have a power wire waaay to close to the room. I don't wanna be there when something happens. read more

Absolutely amazing and nice staff who made it super easy to reserve a room! Large rooms with TV, mini fridge, keurig, and microwave.

Saw the good reviews on Yelp and thought, "Hey...let's try this place after a long sleepless night at another motel in Gold beach." Tracey, who checked us in, was super nice and fast. Went to our room, it looked "ok." For $80.00 I was hoping for for something nice.....but maybe not. Nothing fancy here. Kinda old, but at least it didn't smell bad. It was nice that they offered Bath and Body works bathroom supplies. SOOoo....we started to unpack, until we realized my hubby lost the backing to a computer mouse. OMG...you can't loose that...that's between life and death for our little mouse. And.... if our mouse doesn't work, we won't be able to get on the computer. And.... if we can't get on to the computer.....Life would end. Well, not really, but our computer was a necessity since we were searching for homes in the area. Anyway, while we were searching for the back to our computer mouse, I looked under, over and behind things. To my surprise...behind the dresser it was full of garbage. Ewwwww......used cotton swabs, candy bar wrappers and more. I was about to clean it up, but then decided...not again. I'm just going to ask for another room. I told Tracey what happened and how our room was still unclean and she kindly apologized and upgraded us to another room. It was a little better than the first, but the walls were pretty nasty looking and someone forgot to clean under the beds. Oh well...I give up. I would of given this place a 1 star, but for Tracey's sake, I give it 2 stars. Tracey was the real winner of this place. Again, Thank you Tracey! read more

The only reason I gave this one star is I had to in-order to post a comment. Checked in and went to the room, based on the price I thought it would be OK for one night, even with the odors and the feeling that we were checked into the "Bates motel" We unloaded the car a got ready to go to bed until I turned down the bed and discovered hair on the bed, not sure if it was from the head or down under. At that point we dressed and packed and headed down the road. No matter how long you've been driving just keep driving before stopping here. Next time I'd sleep in the car before staying here. read more

Truly an epic fail, the owner blatantly lied. Easy to find, happy we had a full bed just like home but we were not prepared for the smell or the tiny size of the room. The fan over the bed turned on to try for fresh air sounded horrid. When I could not hang my clothes on the closet bar while my suitcase was on the stand, and my things would have to be on the floor, the only space to place them was in front of the baseboard heater, I had just had it. I found another fantastic place to stay with ease. We asked for our money back, and receivrd only one night. I went back to ask the owner to reconsider refunding both nights because if the dog smell, he said dogs were never allowed in room 104. I proceeded to show him the photo I posted here, he lied again to my face. If paying our lawyer to get a $79 refund was worth it, I would. Avoid this place at all costs. P.S. it is for sale. My family and I were planning on fishing with a local charter (Tidewindes) tomorrow. They contacted us just a few minutes ago and said they were canceling the fishing trip due to high winds expected. We attempted to cancel our hotel reservations at Wild River Lodge. The incredibly rude lady at this business said they have policies for a reason and they are still charging us for the rooms. Great experience. The majority of my stay I resided in the king suite. The space was VERY nice. Clean, comfortable, and spacious. It included a fridge, microwave, very spacious bathroom with large shower, multiple windows on adjacent walls which brought in a lot of welcome light and opened the space up. Privacy and peacefulness were top notch. By and large though, the staff were what made this place a 5-star experience. The host was incredibly hospitable, friendly, easy going, and attentive to my stay, needs, and comfort in every way during my three day stay. The cleaning staff were SUPER friendly and a true pleasure to get along with. I'll he back in town within a month and this will be my top pick. read more

I know if u read some of the reviews they may not be the best about this location but luckily there are under new ownership with some great people. They helped me and my girlfriend for a night stay in a very clean and nice room that was fairly priced. It's walking distance to a lot of nice places to shop and eat and the first thing I noticed when I walked in this hotel room was how good it smelled. About minuses: thin walls (you can hear everything that is going on on the street), unclean coffee table (I suppose they forgot to clean it). For me the main things are: clean bed and clean bathroom. This motel is wonderful. Sadly, I was just passing through, but I could see myself staying here again. It was cozy, but there was still space for my son's pack 'n' play and for us to move freely around the room. The owners were very nice and sociable and I enjoyed chatting with them each time I was in the office. It is right off of Highway 101 and was super easy to find. read more

High ceilings, spacious, and ours seemed quite clean. Pet friendly pergo floors are a must for me and keeps this room from smelling bad unlike our next motel did. Don't espect perfect quiet because you are near 101 and the walls are thin. Dont get the two story rooms because you will hear everything. It is nice that you can park right by your room for unloading. I understand all the pet signs and warnings as there is no common understanding that pet owners follow to clean up after their pets. We could see this on many poo strewn hiking trails. I also felt like the room was a liitle overpriced. We payed 100 plus pet fee. But all in all a perfectly good pet friendly option. read more
