This was my first time attending & I cannot speak on manicures or anything of that nature because I've yet to get that service done. I got a pedicure and waited about 15 min because everyone was busy but the wait didn't feel too bad. The woman who did my pedicure (I wish I got her name) really took her time and made me feel so relaxed and comfortable that I easily could have taken a nap. I ended up taking a chance and allowing her to do my eyebrows because my regular eyebrow ladies, located elsewhere, were not available and to my pleasant surprise she did an awesome job. I ended up allowing her to do my 12 y/o sisters eyebrows as well because hers are a lot thicker and tricker than mine and she did great on hers as well. I would def recommend going here. Be sure to take cash to tip though as I was advised that they don't charge cards for tips. The four starts are due to that very inconvenience, as I do not carry cash too often. read more

So I need to start off by saying that Joy Nails used to be my go-to nail salon.....until last week. I got a no chip done on Tuesday, and it was chipped and peeling by Saturday. Usually my no-chips last at least 10 days, this one hardly lasted FOUR. A $30 no chip manicure should not only last 4 days. I do agree that they give great pedicures here, but I will NOT be coming back in for a no-chip. Don't waste your money. read more

This place is Horrible!!!!!!! I got a no chip gel fill in today. It looks as if I let a kid play with my nails. The polish is sloppy, not covering the side of the nails, all my nails are a different length and to add my cuticles are bleeding! I am beyond upset at the their lack of professionalism and experience. When this was expressed to them I was still forced to pay! And the nail tech just gave me an apology.Are you serious? I told her I wanted a full set she told me i was going to have to wait a long time, she then demanded I came back the next day.. I told her it was fine i would wait.. she suddenly started to ramble in her own languge to another employee with attitude.. Great service, hardly ever a wait and my nails ALWAYS come out perfect.

The first couple times I went here my nails were great, I had absolutely no problems! But, the last two times my nails didn't turn out very well. I was the only one in the nail salon and yet my lady still seemed to be in a rush and did not do a good job at all, she was also a bit rude. This place is either great or a bad experience depending on who is doing your nails. I will go back because there are certain nail techs I love, but I will make sure to have one of those in order to get the results I am looking for. This place is just a bit inconsistent. read more

pedicures are there strength. i ask for regular acrylic white polish, although they made my Fill in SUPER thin, paper thin , the sides of my nail wasn't really filled with acrylic it was so thin. i wont be coming back. at least not for fill ins. read more

I give this place no stars, but I couldn't post my review unless I selected at least one star! I moved to Melrose Park from the city about 5 years ago to be closer to my job. This used to be my go to salon since it was right around the corner from my house, but never again! There used to be a male tech there that seemed to rush his work. One day I was unfortunate enough to get him and I just decided to roll with the punches. I did notice that his hands were really shaky. Like an alcoholic's hands would shake when they needed a drink. I asked him if he was alright and he answered without looking up at me. At this point I'm nervous as well because he now has the drill with the thin metal attachment and he hasn't stopped shaking yet. Then right as I was about to ask for another technician he cuts the soft part of my right index finger's nail bed with the drill. It literally took everything in me not to beat this drunk's face in! I believe the owner at the time, another male that always sat in the front, thought the shit was funny and was laughing at my expression. He finished my nails, but as you can imagine I only got 9 nails done that day. Then, the fucker had the nerve to try and paint the cut nail and STILL charge me for a full set! I told him that Jesus will walk on water again before I gave them money! He threatened to call the police and I pulled out my phone saying I'd call them my damn self in addition to the BBB to let them know they're employing an alcoholic and putting their customers in danger for allowing him to work in that condition. He didn't have anything to say about that! I left and haven't been back in 3 years. They need to close this damn place! I now go to Nail Paradise on 25th and have been happy every since! read more

I use to go here all the time up until 2 years ago then I stopped because someone messed up my nails. I stopped by today because my usual shop was too crowded & I must say I was VERY PLEASED with them today. Nails & eyebrows came out Great! The manager was rude and his employees disrespectful. I showed the woman a picture of what I wanted she said she could do it. But then halfway through I asked her again and she said she didn't know how to do it. She made 5 of my nails crooked and painted them how she liked and refused to give me my money back. Awful place. Do not go here! I repeat...DO NOT GO HERE! This company knows NOTHING about customer service let alone NAILS! I got my nails done here because of the convenient location which was a HUGE MISTAKE. Immediately when I sat down, I told the nail tech that I wanted my nails cut down...she insisted that I should keep them the length that they were. After about 5 minutes of going back & forth, she finally agreed to cut them down (she even refused to clip down my toe nails because she insisted they "looked good" the length that they were). I told her that I wanted coffin shaped nails, but instead she did what she wanted to do and did them square!!!!! After I asked her if she could reshape my nails because I didn't like them, she got an attitude & started talking to her coworkers in her language. The coworker then came up to me and told me my nails were fine & didn't need to be reshaped over. The lady who did my nail kept insisting my nails where "pretty" after I told her a million times I wasn't satisfied! How RUDE & unprofessional! Whatever ever happened to customer satisfaction? If you want them to do your nails THEIR WAY then go to this place. If you believe in great customer service and quality work...go elsewhere! I was there the other day. You wouldn't believe how bad my nails looks I kept telling one of the tech how I wanted my nails and still was not doing it right so they switch me over to the manager "Jenny" she still was doing a horrible job not listening to a word I was saying I therefore told her I did not like them I was not satisfied she only spent a total of 7 mins on my nails she then grab a nail clipper and said she would cut them all off so she was going to leave me with the acrylic still on so I would have to go somewhere else to get them soaked off she said I needed to pay her $10 I said these are horrible she then locked the front door and threaten to call the cops she thought I was going to leave when all I wanted was for them to fix my nails she then started grabbing my hand with the nail clipper to cut them all off that's when I told her not to touch me! she was going crazy yelling at me. I believe that was horrible customer service and no manager should ever do that to a customer the way she went about controlling the situation was unbelievable. read more

Please do not go here for a no chip! I have went twice within two weeks, and both times they have chipped within 3 days. There is no way that this should happen. TWICE. Also, they made me pay the second time, although it should have been free. When I called to complain, the woman who answered the phone Helen, told me in very bad English that I must have "two much oil" on my fingers. I will buy that once, but twice? Nah. Trust me, they are watering down their polish or something because it's the worst no chip I have ever received. Hands down. read more

This was my second time at this salon. First time, it was a good experience as staff was nice and welcoming. However, 2nd time when I went in this morning to get a pedi and mani was a different experience. The staff member who attended me was so rude and unwelcoming. I cant believe I saw the customers carrying their own shoes and purses to the table to dry their nails... My nails came out uneven and I had to put my own shoes on after getting a fresh coat of nail polish !! Never coming back to this salon! read more
