So for whatever reason my brain read the address as being on West NORTH Ave when it was actually on…read morenorth WESTERN Ave. Derrrrp ‍ I've lived here all my life (currently near BOTH Western & North avenues which I use FREQUENTLY too! ... go figure) and I STILL don't know how that happened ‍ I had realized My mistake when I was on the north Ave bus around Elston Ave and it was 5 minutes before my appointment was supposed to happen!! At that point I had resigned to the idea of having my card charged the no-show fee of half the price of the service I scheduled myself for ($100) and just having to eat it because it was my stupid fault when my phone rang and it was the lady who was waiting for me to show up. I apologized and told her what derpy thing I'd done getting on the wrong bus and that my job as a professional pet stylist ALSO relies on people showing up when they're supposed to and how it really bones up our day when they don't so I'm not upset about the fee in any way whatsoever. She was so nice too. I could tell this had happened with other clients of hers in the past because of how she tried to nicely explain why they had to charge the no-show fee, and had a sense of "please don't yell at me" in her voice. I know EXACTLY what that is like having to have that exact convo with someone using that exact voice in my own business. So I assured her I was not upset, admitted again that I knew it was all my own fault and that I'd re-book on the website before thanking her and hanging up. As I got BACK on the bus (which to my surprise came very quickly believe it or not) my phone rang AGAIN from the salon!! It was the same lady and she actually said if I could get there within a half hour she could still juuuuussst fit me in still!! F YEAH!! I told her that I was at the mercy of the CTA but that since the bus back toward western had come quickly I actually might be able to do that! She was so nice and just reminded me it couldn't be but a minute later since she had other clients after me, and I said I'd do my best. WELL... once I got to western and stepped up to the bus stop there I SAW THE BUS ACTUALLY COMING MY WAY!! I was delighted at first, then after getting on I realized it was an express bus that wouldn't be stopping at Augusta OR Iowa so I started to panic a bit as it was less than 5 mins before I had to be there!! When the bus stopped at Chicago though I RAN LIKE I WAS BEING CHASED BY THE CHICAGO MOTHMAN HIMSELF and got there JUST as the clock "struck midnight" so to say. And the nice woman was right there waiting for me too. She showed me to my seat where she'd already set up and I started borderline violently ripping my coat and other winter gear off while thanking and explaining to her that I totally understand because my job works the same way and that I knew she'd need to begin ASAP in order to keep her schedule on time. She really was awesome (and I friggin WISH I could remember her name because she needs an award immediately) and said I could take my time and all that. But like I've said I know how it works and knew that was her just doing her job and being polite. She asked me what Style/length/shape I wanted to which I replied "STRIPPER BIG" and she laughed in a way that acknowledged that she understood the assignment precisely. So I hopped in the chair and before I knew it she was DONE! And not RUSHED done either.... She took her time, made sure I didn't feel a thing, and KILLED IT!! To top it off she gave me a little box with some eyelash brushes to keep them all aligned, and in my line of work: to get the dog hair out of them at the end of the day, AND instructions on what face stuff to use/not use to lengthen their longevity. SUCH a DELIGHTFUL human... I'm telling you!! A friggin PLUS PLUS! If I figure out her name (which I'll have to when I see her for my fill-in soon) I'll come back to update this review. I was worried the lashes would be too curled as I've seen it happen before, but felt very comfortable with her working on me. She was extremely accommodating as I had to reschedule my appointment and very easy to get in touch with through email and answer my questions. The lash lift is beautiful and her studio is very relaxing, I am definitely going back to her again when I need another lift. Pricing is cheaper in comparison to most downtown nail salons and they do a considerably better job. I was done with my service in about an hour. Considering i got a brand new acrylic no-chip full set plus a pedi i was still please with the quality in the amount of time it took. I'm giving it 4 stars from the appearance of the salon.
