I love this place. My family has been loyal to this restaurant for many years and deservedly so. All I ever order are the noodles, rice, beef broccoli, orange chicken and teriyaki chicken. And if the flavor alone wasn't enough, they always serve you with massive portions to the point where the food is bursting out of the box they place your food into. To top it all off, the food is really cheap. I do miss their old location because their current one is hard to see if you aren't careful and the parking lot is atrocious so you're better off parking in the street. But it's a small place, gets packed & parking is very limited & tight. Used to have another location near the old "Clark's Drugs" - place is a local legend. I haven't eaten here for a while so I gave it a shot yesterday. It's standards Chinese food fare, 2 item combos and what not. The quality however, is clearly better. Even the sauces seem 'carefully crafted'. I mean, I wouldn't go so far as to call it gourmet, but it's the best generic 'Chinese food' I've ever had. They moved twice before, the first time after the 92 riots. They have settled here for a while now. Yes, the portions are huge. And to those purists, no, this is not "Chinese" food. The portions are more than enough, the selection is good, they serve red pepper flake chili (which is my favorite chili when eating Chinese food) and most importantly the food is very tasteful! When my 10 year old niece chose this place for lunch, I was like "um no!" Hole in the wall! Thank goodness I didn't listen to myself because Joy Wok is sooo good! The chow mein is nice and thick with the cabbage still having a nice crunch to it just how I like it. The orange chicken was nice and tangy, I could definitely taste the orange in it. After hits and misses its not like thee best chinese food but its good. Like everyone says huge portions cheap price! The chow mein is flavorfull and plump. The bbq pork has great flavor and tender!!! The orange chicken was nicely crispy with moist inside the color and flavor arent very orangy but its good! Ok so the " orange chicken" taste more like honey chicken with a hint of orange. Thats the best way to describe it. This place is VERY easy to drive by. It looks like it's closed due to the bars and metal in front of it but if you drive slowly and look to your right - you'll see the entrance. That being said, this food is sublime. Everything I had was amazing. Orange chicken still had the crusty and burnt orange peel in it, their beef and broccoli was amazing, egg rolls were SUPER tasty and garlicy. Chili sauces contained actual big chunks of chili. At first I was discouraged because the place was a ghost town. Later, I found out that it was so empty because they just opened. They open at 11 am. After eating there for maybe 20 minutes I saw about 8+ people come by to get food. My mother in law brought me here and she knows good Chinese food. She did not disappoint. The noodles in the chow mien were nice and thick. The orange chicken was sweet. And the veggies weren't old like in other places. Although the place was clean, the bathroom was tagged with graffiti and the baby high chair was sticky..
