Oxygen is clearly the choice to be made! I spoke to both Chantelle and Meagan, both ladies shared their positive expertise and were beyond helpful - very kind too! Honestly, I'm happy that I took the time to ensure the best yoga facility met my needs; I've tried other facilities in the past, but found that I felt out of place. I signed up for a bi-weekly membership through the Oxygen App. The terms appeared in a pop-up…read moreduring checkout, but no retainable copy of the agreement was provided or accessible afterward, either by email or within the app. When my work travel increased, I attempted to cancel and discovered there is no cancellation option in the app. I was then told I was locked into a three-month commitment with a 30-day notice. I made multiple written requests for a copy of the contract, explaining that consumer law requires delivery of a retainable agreement. I was first sent a broken link, then told I would need to attend the studio in person despite being out of town. Only after repeated follow-ups did the studio provide screenshots of the agreement. That agreement explicitly allows cancellation within 10 days of signing and receiving a copy, so I canceled immediately upon receipt. Despite this, my concerns were dismissed, and I was told the pop-up alone counted as delivery--followed by a "see you on the mat" response while billing continued. I ultimately resolved this by confirming my rights with Service Alberta and disputing the charges with my credit card provider, which resulted in a full refund. My concern isn't that terms existed, but that they were only shown briefly in a pop-up, not provided in a retainable format, not accessible afterward, and legitimate concerns were ignored. I'll be continuing my fitness routine through ClassPass, where terms and cancellations are clear.

Came to Barre Body Studio for the first time this weekend as part of Yelp's Club Fit!…read more The facility was beautiful with Barre studios (one larger than the other). The atmosphere was beautiful, bright, and clean! Glow Juicery is just inside to the left for a pre or post workout treat! I love that everything is made right in front of you and totally customizable! I love ANYTHING with ginger and kale - Yummy! Erin was the instructor for my class - super friendly and knowledgeable. She gave alternatives for lower impact options when it came to the cardio section. I was really surprised at the intensity of the class given the small movement/range of motion. I am confident the class could kick the fittest butt around as well as being modifiable for someone just starting to work out. Class was broken up into warm up, upper body with weights, lower body with a squishy ball, cardio, and ab work on eco friendly mats. They provide everything you need, including lockers with a key! They sell special footy socks that help you grip the floor if you like. I noticed on the wall that they were in the midst of a 30 day challenge, too! There were three large washrooms and beautiful vanity sink area complete with personal hygiene items if you needed to freshen up. If you are looking for a women only fitness class, definitely give Barre Body Studio a try!

Visited the Integration Pilates studio last month for the first time…read more I was really surprised by the size of the studio inside. You think the Reformers (traditional table pilates) is the whole studio and then you realize there are 2 more studio spaces including a GIGANTIC one in the back for mat/floor work. The owner was fabulous and really informative. They can provide a bazillion modifications for any injuries and really take their time to help you get into the right positions with hands on help. I had taken a floor pilates series of classes years ago but it was nothing like this. They offer a phenomenal 2 week unlimited pass to check them out for only $30 for the first time! The reformer tables were my favourite - it felt like traction heaven for my back! One suggestion though, I really felt the atmosphere needed to feel updated (wall colours, etc. Something to make it feel fresher/brighter). Man, I wish I lived closer!

Megan and her sister really outdid themselves with the newest Barre St. Albert location!…read more It feels like you're walking into a magazine photo shoot - so chic! Love the gray, chandeliers, clean bright white lines in the bathroom, large vanity, 2 private showers... I good just go on and on! Megan does a great job teaching classes and comes around to make sure everyone is engaging properly. This workout is all about small movements and it can take some practice to disengage your larger muscle groups. I like how you are in complete control of how intense you want your workout to be. This location has 2 studios just like the southside Barre Studio. Only difference is it may be a little trickier to get to transit wise (in an industrial area) and does not have a Glow Juicery inside. They do have a variety of Glow juices, water, and snacks on hand, though! Great job ladies! P.S. When Megan tells you to start with 2 or 3 lbs. Dumbbells, listen to her! A million reps later and you'll be glad you did!

Amazing - from start to finish, this was a great experience…read more Barre Body Studio is a stunning studio located conveniently just off 111 Avenue just north of downtown. It's in a great new building surrounded by like-minded businesses with lots of parking around, both in the lot next door and the street. Inside, touches like beautiful chandeliers over the counter along with contemporary light fixtures in the studio, make for a space you want to spend more time in! The whole space is bright and cheerful! And it had the best locker room I've ever seen with soooo many lockers! I really appreciate actual lockers to store your stuff while you're in class. The actual class is a lot of fun. The best tunes ever with some really good base make for a rocking environment. It almost makes you forget about how hard you're working because you're just having a lot of fun! I found it really easy to follow along with the routine which included a lot of ballet moves, ab work, cardio and more... Which is saying a lot as I'm not really athletic or coordinated! I look forward to coming back to work on toning and strengthing... everything! You work way more than just your legs and glutes - your shoulders and abs will feeeeel it!
