I was able to walk in and get an appointment for a pedicure, which is much appreciated. I got the jelly pedicure which came with a scrub, hot stones and massage. The lady who did my pedicure was on her phone for the first 10 mins and even stop the service when someone called her. The massage chairs are old and some functions don't work. Smaller shop off 34th Street. Depending on the tech, service I have had has either been "fair" or "great." Staff are always friendly and rarely have to wait long for service. There is one tech (name not sure) but she is not gentle and does not have an attention to detail. Too many do not push cuticles back, do not clean sides and under nails, and apply polish too thick. This tech, and too many others at different shops, file the top and sides of nails with heavy pressure and in "back and forth" motion like sawing a piece of wood and not skin. Nging (sp?) is a fairly new addition to Joyful Nails and her work is impeccable. She took her time and even though I visited on a Saturday, I was not rushed which was fabulous. I have been going here for 7 months now and I feel like the quality of their services have down graded. For the last 3 to 4 times I have been here, each time I leave disappointed and annoyed. I feel like the nail technicians do not listen to my requests of how I want something done or just completely ignore what I say. They have cut my skin to the point where it bleeds the past 2 times. The paint job is sloppy and either gets on my skin or in my cuticle. The only plus is that they have recently added a "rewards program" to where if you come so many times, you'll get $10 off. I've been here several times before and they do a great job on the pedicures. Today, however, I decided to get something other than polish on my nails in over a year. I went in looking for a specific color, which they ended up not having in gel. No big deal. I just chose another color. I asked for gel and the lady doing my nails told me to do the dip because it was better and only $7 more than gel. I never tried it before and she made it sound like it would be a great manicure, so I agreed. The dip turned out horrible, but she was 3 layers in and I wasn't going to make her change it at this point. The color was nothing like it looked on the shade chart. In addition, the multiple coats made my nails look thick and lumpy. As she was finishing up, she was trimming my cuticles and after one, she said "you wanted your cuticles cut, right? It's $5 extra" I've never heard of anyone charging extra to cut cuticles, especially after she had already started. Overall, the total was $121 - $38 each for 2 pedicures and $45 for my horrible dip manicure! read more

I have finally found my go to nail spa (hard to find a decent place in St. Pete that isn't overpriced.) Don't let the area deceive you. Kayla Is amazing! As far as prices go they are definitely reasonable. The staff is always friendly and making appointments is a simple phone call. I would definitely recommend making an appointment, as they are a small place. Unlike most places where you make an appointment, they always take you right away and know there's a reservation (Nail Art Spa you make one and it seems to go no where and you don't even get who you asked for). I always get asked every little detail about my pedicure or my manicure (sometimes things I forget to tell them they ask!). I've been here twice recently and have really mixed feelings about it. First visit was fantastic. I went in for a mani/pedi without an appointment and didn't have to wait at all. The pedicure was great. I got one with a scrub and hot stones and it was really nice. I planned on a manicure with regular nail polish but they convinced me to get the gel and I was really happy that I did. Second visit I went in with high hopes since my last visit was so great, but sadly I was really disappointed. They had a few customers and the girl that did my nails last time was busy, so I had someone new. I just went for the gel nails (no pedicure this time) and I felt like he was really rushed to get done. Several nails ended up with bubbles and all of the nails on my left hand are not smooth. The amount of nail polish applied isn't even across the nail so there's a crease and it bubbles on the ends. I haven't decided if I'll give them another chance or not. read more

What a great find! I was traveling through Saint Petersburg when I happened upon this place. I got the deluxe pedicure, $30, and since I'm a guy, I didn't need any polish or other fancy stuff. Not to say there's anything wrong with guys painting their nails, of course! Anyway, the staff is genuinely friendly and accommodating, and it was lovely to make conversation with some of the other guests while Quansy did a thorough and most excellent job on my feet. She is head-and-shoulders above the run of the mill pedicurists I have encountered at home in NYC. She also happens to have a great command of English, and a witty sense of humor to boot. Yes! This is one of the most comfortable nail salon environments I have ever been in. The staff is always in a great mood, funny and never make you feel uneasy. The first minute I walked in I was helped immediately by two nail techs to get a mani pedi. They cut the time down without short cuts. My nails looked great!!!! Time is so important to me being a single mom of a 2 year old. I usually spend almost 2 hours easy just to get my hands and feet done. I went in again the other day and was hesitant on getting a pedi because I was in a crazy rush and they literally got both done in half an hour... I don't know if I sound crazy but that's amazing!!! Really upset with my nails from here. I got them done for my birthday on a Saturday, didn't even last till the Tuesday (THREE DAYS) after. My thumb dip and acrylic nail off. Then Yesterday, being Wednesday, four days after the next thumb fell off. Today my middle finger nail. Everyone was so sweet and I thought I found my new favorite salon based of the service, but so sad to see the quality sucked. She took a really long time and I thought that meant she was putting in a lot of effort, but I've never had nails fall off so fast. I tried giving the benefit of the doubt with the first thumb, but seeming I don't work or do much with my hands there's no reason three fingers should've came off this quickly. I live 35 min away so wasn't worth driving back to get it fixed. Got the thumb fixed at a local salon but at this point I'd have to pay for a whole new set to fix all of them.
