We received a follow up after about signing up for classes regularly but I explained we couldn't due to our schedules/distance and this was kindly responded to/respected which we appreciated too! Little did I know how strong it would make me physically and mentally and I stayed consistent and grew my practice to a level I didn't think I was capable of. The teachers here are so observant and pay attention to each practitioner. I never once felt pressured to catch up with the class but was taught to own each practice as my own. Johnathan has to be one of the best teachers I've been fortunate enough to learn from. Jayme, Michelle, Gretchen all have such unique and amazing teaching styles and make yoga feel like your own personal practice- and not a commercial exercise class. That is incredibly important to me. I can't recommend this studio enough. I wish I lived closer to take advantage more often!

The combination of the heat and the targeted spine strengthening series has made a huge difference in alleviating pain and building back strength. I've attended three bikram studios in the DMV area and Reston Yoga is my favorite. The instructors mentioned in previous negative reviews do not teach here anymore. The studio is cheery and clean and the staff, instructors, and students are very friendly. Particular shoutout to Yun and Julie for their calm but motivating teaching style and for being so welcoming when I brought my partner to try a class! Tip for first class - attend an Original class (and hydrate a lot!) Request - Please add more weekday morning options (60 min or a 6-7:30). I loved the 7am pop-up class last Friday! The evening classes can be challenging to fit with work schedules. I appreciate the mix of original and limited instruction classes; please continue to offer both!

Not recommended. EDIT: Responding to the owner below, Groupon was purchased over 2 months ago and I waited for reformer classes schedule for over a month and not one available. I think this was reasonable wait period. As for the relocation out of this area (something out of my hand), I was offered 1 reformer private session (in place of 5 group sessions) as substitute, but wasn't made aware of $45 additional fees on top of groupon I had already purchased (I should have asked). Overall, not a pleasant experience.

My first experience with SUP was at the Georgetown marina. There was no lesson. I had gone with friends who had SUP'd but it was new to me. It was scary and the Potomac is a beast to paddle. When I read and saw the Facebook photos of the classes and events run by Surf Reston, I knew this place would take care of me. Sign up was easy, it's all done online. Before I signed up, I had a few questions. I texted them and received responses right away! Once we arrived we saw the staff working diligently to get all the boards and life jackets together. We got a very detailed land lesson(about 10-15 min) and then the rest of the time was on the water. Steve and Sabrina were awesome. They know their stuff. My main issue is getting from the knee position to the Stand Up position. They had a few helpful tricks and then I was standing! They take lots of photos and sent them to us the very same day. The location is one of the Reston Lakes. We were on Lake Newport. It was very calm and we had the lake to ourselves. Once on there water we were free to paddle on our own. Steve and Sabrina were always there if we needed anything. Everything from questions, to registration to event was perfect. They offer group discounts so ask about it. If you are curious about SUP, then this is the place to try it out!

She knew what areas needed strengthening and what exercises to recommend. It is not an exaggeration to say taking her classes have changed my outlook on life. The instructor was just super nice overall and did a great job motivating quotes and also demonstrating the moves. If you've been to a YogaSix before, it's the same jam: Flow water dispenser, restrooms, one studio room, decent heat. I would def return.

I love that they dimmed the lights, which set the mood. The music was loud at times, so a bit hard to hear the coach, otherwise perfect. They definitely take pride in their studio by keeping it clean. After each class, they go in and clean/sweep the studio. They sell alo mats, but everyone can bring their own mats or rent one. A drop-in class is $10, which isn't too bad. I didn't get a chance to find out about the memberships as I booked through ClassPass. There is plenty of parking directly in front and also shared by surrounding businesses. Would I return? absolutely!
