I recently visited Joys & Toys, and it's truly a hidden gem for collectors and nostalgia seekers alike. This quaint little shop is packed to the brim with a wonderful array of antique toys, vintage games, and unique collectibles. The selection is diverse--ranging from classic tin toys to rare action figures and timeless board games. Every inch holds something different, and it's clear that the owner has a real passion for curating these treasures for a great price. I would not recommend bringing little ones here as it packed full & could easily be a hazard waiting to happen with little hands lol. Grumpy Owner who acts like he is the person who knows how to handle items carefully. I been collecting things since the early 70s and I know what I'm doing. Most items you aren't allowed to touch and aren't priced, so I haven't an idea of what things will cost me. Therefore the joy of browsing is ruined and the prices I notice of items were extremely overprice. Skip this place and travel to The Mad Hatter instead. read more

If you do not like digging and exploring, skip Joys & Toys as this isn't the shop for you. This is a crowded shop, with a deep selection and tons of potential if you have time to explore. Joys & Toys is located right on the street and is easy to find. This shop is literally stocked with random everything, from ceiling to floor. The amount of stock they have makes it hard to even move around at times, and you have to be careful not to bump into things. Toys are one of the shops primary items, from many different generations. Condition can vary from new in box, to open, and the conditions of the boxes can extremely vary. This shop had toys I have not seen in years, even at flea markets, and this very much impressed me. The other primary item is a reasonably large selection of vinyl records that seems to be organized. Old board game selection was large and is stored on top of several shelves. Some comic longboxes are on the floor and half were inaccessible. Metal lunchboxes were also available. The owner of the shop was helpful with our questions and prices were reasonable. Overall, I'll be returning here in the future to further explore, and Joys & Toys is absolutely worth a stop. read more

Payed for parking, and excitedly walked up to the store at 15:00 on a Wednesday only to find it closed and no one about. Sign says it closes 16:00. Drove an hour and 20 to get there and there wasn't even a sign explaining why it's closed. It's looks great peering in through the glass. Shame I could see anything during hours. If I ever get down this way again and get a chance to see anything I might be able to change the stars. read more

Coolest place ever! Not only do they sell all kinds of memorabilia stuff from way back but they also have quite an extensive used vinyl album inventory!! The staff and owner are friendly and helpful!! You need to go here and plan on staying awhile.....it will take some time to look through this gem of a store!! :) read more

A nice store with a decent size selection of toys from different time periods. I recall seeing lots of Care Bears, Garfield, California Raisins, Wuzzles & other toy lines. Tons of vintage board games and puzzles too. What looks like several hundred records (didn't go through though), and a very small amount of CDs. Prices were very fair based on what I saw, and I got a great deal on the item I purchased. The 2 employees working were very friendly and helpful as well. Street parking with meters, or park for 2 hours for free in the municipal lot behind the block across the street. read more

The best kind of junk shop - piles & piles of decades-old kids stuff, pop culture items, and semi-antiques. The merch is quite jumbled up, so give yourself some time to shop. A fair amount of this stuff is"collectible", but few things are in the perfect condition serious collectors look for. This shop is better for nostalgia and kitsch finds. Joys is fun for kids, too, and many things are cheap enough that you might actually buy then for a kid who is sure to lose or destroy it. read more
