We had our 40 class reunion at Joy'Table. They served 25 people with ease. Party room was set up in plenty of time. Servers did and excellent job. All I have to say I is "wonderful!" I had the Shrimp Cocktail, the Charcuterie Plate and Caprese Tower. Everything is fresh, thoughtful and well put together. Traveling from Indiana to Denver, with my sister, we stayed at the Holiday Inn in Kearney. Joys Kitchen was attached to the hotel. The ambience was good and after a long day of travel, we were tired and hungry. The hotel gave us a 10% off coupon for them as well, so in we went. Waited a bit long to be seated when there weren't that many people in there, but okay. I ordered the steak at poivere (sp) and my sister ordered the beef stroganoff. A salad came with meal. The dressing on the Cesar salad tasted like bad fish and stunk to high heaven. My sister, sitting across the table, could smell the dressing as well. Long story short, the steak was all gristle and there was no beef in the beef stroganoff. The waiter came back to check on us after our food was delivered, and shared with him the issues. He took my plate, apologized and said he'd make me another one. 45 minutes later, I approached the manager and told her, never mind, we just wanted to go at that point, just give us the check. 15 minutes later, they delivered the check and charged us full price for everything. The food was absolutely horrid, service was awful. Don't go to this place, if you actually want to eat...we ended up driving to McDonalds after paying full price for a meal we couldn't eat. We had dinner there tonight. The food was delicious. But the atmosphere - noisy!!! There are only hard surfaces and the kitchen is open to the restaurant, so there's lots of echoing and noise from the kitchen - dishes clanging, the grill flaming, cooks calling out to the waiters. The private room is private - except the walls don't go up to the ceiling, so there's noise from there, too. Several of the other tables were full - 6-8 people - each talking, laughing loudly - with no soft surfaces to absorb the sound. Add to that the loud music - it was too much! Also, they charged us 29 cents as an "occupancy" charge because the restaurant is attached to the Holiday Inn hotel. And a 4% charge for using a credit card. And 2 other charges - a sales tax (to be expected) and another charge of 29 cents - for something with 3 letters including a G. We didn't ask what it was for - we were tired and frustrated by the noise and just wanted to get out of there. But, as I said, the food was good. My husband had a half order of the chicken parmesan and I had a Caesar salad with salmon. We'd eat there again if only it was quieter..... read more

Pretty good! I ended up getting Joys burger which has a large foccia bun, smallish quarter pound patty and some potatoes wedges as a side. The crem brûlée was outstanding though and would highly recommend it read more

Saw so many amazing reviews so we thought we'd try this place out. What we didn't realize is it's part of the Holiday Inn. My husband ordered the beef stroganoff and it was very dry. He had to ask for more sour cream to give it some flavor. I had the Seabass and it was too salty. I had to scrape it off the top. They have cocktails but only mocktails made with wine. Service was good which is why I gave it two stars. Don't recommend. read more

I didn't get any pictures because I was so excited to devour our meal! We had the fried risotto balls as an appetizer. My husband had the jambalaya and I had the tuxedo pasta. Everything about this place is amazing! Pros: *We had a reservation and we were seated promptly. *Our server was very friendly and attentive. *Our appetizer came out within 5 minutes of ordering. *The newly renovated space is absolutely stunning! *The fried risotto balls were so so delicious! *My tuxedo pasta is seriously one of the best Italian dishes I have ever had. The marinara sauce is probably the best I've ever had - the spice and flavor were just perfect. *My husband really enjoyed his jambalaya, as well. Con: *My only con is, our luck, we happened to get seated at a table directly in front of the entrance doors. At one point, those doors were opening every 30 seconds to a minute with people walking inside. So every time those doors opened, we got a rush of cold air. Luckily, the temperature outside wasn't terribly cold yet, but it was a bit annoying! A partition of some kind to block that cold air when people come in would be awesome. I am so happy to have wonderful Italian food in Kearney. We will definitely be back and I cannot wait to try other menu items! read more

I brought my family there for a birthday celebration. They were having Brazilian days. There was a buffet the food obviously was made cheap for instance tater tots on top of peas and beef with gravy. This had tons of peas but rare beef. Then servers came around and gave you various meats and seafood. It was a packed house with only 2 servers. Well we did get some meat which was delicious but we had to ask. This cost $45 per person. I expected to get the delicious food Joy's table always has but we were all disappointed. Love the atmosphere of the restaurant, service was welcoming and helpful. Appetizers were very good(calamari and fried mushrooms- the dipping sauces were spot on)! The dinner was not as expected after such wonderful appetizers. Risotto Nero was sent back- overcooked, slimy, turns out squid ink is dye in the risotto. The osso buco was delicious but small. Beef tortellini was very good. We had two orders of chicken Alfredo -almost no sauce, dry and gummy pasta. I saw the reviews about the breadsticks and tried them anyways, bland and dry. Very disappointed. Husband and I went to Joy's Table for our anniversary dinner. The server was nice but didn't know a whole lot when asked about their drinks and wine selection. He had to go back several times to ask someone else. Only checked in on us once to ask how things were. The food was mediocre at best. I had the beef stroganoff and portion size was small. I had ordered the full size. Nothing else came with it. The noodles were soggy. It tasted like leftovers from the day before just out of the microwave. The kids meal was also skimpy. My 8 year old left still hungry. My husband said his steak was chewy and salty. Definitely not worth the price we paid for a family of three!!! read more

My husband and I went to Joy's Table for his work Christmas party. We were very impressed by the friendly staff and quick service. Our servers were engaging and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, I had the beef tortellini with bread sticks. I told my husband I couldn't keep each bite in my mouth long enough, the textures and taste were unlike anything I had tried before. Absolutely delicious! My husband had the 16oz NY strip with a side salad and smashed potatoes. He said it was the best steak he had had all year! First time here and it was AMAZING! Absolutely delicious. Started off with a cup of ham & bean soup that was very flavorful. Next was a wonderful green salad which was so fresh and the homemade Italian dressing was fabulous. Entree was the salmon over bacon risotto topped with creamy horseradish. My server (Kayleen) suggested this entree and I'm glad I took her recommendation. Salmon was cooked to perfection- not under or overcooked. Perfect! Total bill for 1 for diner-$31.12. We made reservations for an early dinner tonight (5:30) so the restaurant wasn't busy, we were seated promptly but nobody came to take drink order for about 10 minutes. We finally got the attention of a waitress & ordered only to be told they were out of the entree I wanted(@ 5:30)the waitress served our meals before she brought my husbands soup & after inquiring twice about my salad it still wasn't served, the food was less than mediocre & when we told the manager about our service all he asked was would you like a mint? The food is complex and fresh. The chef is an artist with the combinations of spices and fresh ingredients. Portions are very generous. That being said, without the professional and friendly staff, the experience wouldn't have been as wonderful! Our server, Katie, was a spunky redhead that made us feel comfortable and exceeded our expectations. We had the best meal at Joys Table tonight! Service was excellent, well trained and efficient. The menu has a lot to offer. All of our meals were excellent and the dessert was devine! We plan to return again and again. We had the stuffed mushrooms and devoured them. Entrees included the chicken Parmesan, the Nero risotto and the sea bass. All 3 plates were licked clean. Don't forget to order a side of the breadsticks, yum! Desserts were spot on! We tried the creme brûlée, the strawberry cheesecake and the chocolate mousse. So I just ordered the Calamari and it was to die had the perfect amount of crisp and the sauce was great!!! I gave it 4stars because I also ordered the Fettuccine with salmon!! The salmon was great very tasty but the sauce was bland!! It's missing something I can't put my finger on it I would say more garlic and add some oyster mushrooms or some type of delicious mushroom that pairs good with fettuccine!! A solid Friday evening dinner with my husband. We were seated quickly. Our server had a bit of trouble with our drinks but admitted it and made sure to get it correct before serving us. I had the blueberry mocktail and it was good, my husband enjoyed the negroni. We started with the italian nachos and they were excellent. I had the tuxedo pasta and it did appear different than the picture on this website. The picture shows a twirl of pasta with marinara, I was served a plate of alfredo with a drizzle of marinara over the chicken. It was still good, but would have liked ti closer to the picture. My husband had the NY strip and risotto and enjoy it significantly, a well prepared steak. I thought the risotto needed something more, just not sure what. Also got the breadsticks and they were good....just like most other Italian restaurants that serve them unlimited. We plan to return! read more
