Try the zucchini flowers as they are light batter with a rich cheese inside. Large calamari's also a great appetizer as it is lightly battered with a tomato sauce for dipping . this spot is a family owned and operated Italian restaurant. They are a well-oiled machine here, the service is so swift and polite. Lots of seating in the restaurant between booths and tables. We started with olive oil and bread, had soups as an appetizer (soup or salad included with each pasta meal), and then our main courses arrived. These plates are massive! This is a family owned Italian restaurant. They have been open for over 20 years. Where they are located its easy to miss. Its not the most fancy area with stores and restaurants. I would say its what you call a hole in the wall. But with a little twist. The authentic Italian food, and pizza I might add is absolutely amazing. Its filling its fresh and chefs kiss. A small, local Italian restaurant, that we saw favorable reviews, so, post Thanksgiving we were able to get a desirable reservation(note, the reservations are for two hour windows only). We arrived fifteen minutes early and our table was waiting for us. The restaurant was crowed, we had NO wait. The menu was in two parts, the regular menu and a separate specials menu. We started with beverages and a Calamari appetizer which came with either traditional marinara sauce or a delicious balsamic glaze sauce. For the main course, My grown kids had Chicken Parm in a vodka sauce. The portion sizes were huge. They loved it in the restaurant and again the next day. My wife devoured zuppa di pesce, seafood over linguini. I ordered from the specials menu, and had the Veal Chop Tuscany with wild mushrooms and potatoes. It was HUGE. This is an amazing Italian Restaurant. The food and service is outstanding. I ordered from the lunch menu, and ordered the Sunday Gravy pasta, and a cannoli. The lunch came with a great salad and bread, which was not your typical house salad or bread. The salad was delicious, and had great ingredients. The bread dipping sauce is like no other I have tried. It consisted of roasted garlic infused in olive oil, the flavor was incredible. The Sunday gravy was outstanding, the meat was fork tender, the sauce had amazing flavor, and the portion size was incredible. I finished the meal with a cannoli that was absolutely perfect. The prices at this restaurant are very affordable, my entire meal including tip was under $30. The the staff and management are extremely helpful and courteous. We came here with the Pops for dinner after an unanticipated but important trip into Jersey. For a random weeknight, the place was pretty busy, and you can tell that there are repeat locals. The vibe is "cheesy Italian", but it works. You feel cocooned in a bowl of red sauce. Big bummer: it's BYOB! So we had to run out to grab a bottle wine. The calamari we got as an app was not the best first impression since it was rubbery and fishy, but the split pea soup that came with all of our meals was outstanding! You could tell that it was homemade and the seasoning was just right. All of our mains were tasty. The eggplant rollatini was thinly sliced, saucy as hell, and positively oozing with cheese. A+! Our daughter got the short rib ravioli, and that could have been the best one of the night. The meat was tender inside and the bolognese sauce was spot-on. One of us got the shrimp parm, and while that one was nothing special, it was still fine, though the particular red sauce they used on the side of linguine was too acidic. The Pops had a homey penne vodka dish--love that they serve it with peas! We decided to go even higher on the hog and order three desserts. The rice pudding was standard, but fine. We really loved the limoncello marscapone cake, which was shockingly moist and had just the right amount of lemon in it. The tartufo was a bit of a bummer because they cut it all up and there was way too much whipped cream. It was also way too hard. Service was a bit limited at times. Our waitress was friendly, but she also got into a mathematical argument with one of us about an up charge (the customer ended up being right) and that was not appreciated. This was more of a 3.5 stars experience, but we're rounding up because this place was actually one of our late mother's favorites, so it's got some sentimentality to the family. And we would be happy to come again. Four stars. read more

Amazing!! This place is about 10 minutes from me but not sure how I never knew about this place. It seems very local and family run. Everyone was really nice. We started with the sweet and spicy calamari which was delicious. It comes with a sweet sauce and fried jalapeños but also super crispy. We got the penne vodka which is a must try. This is probably one of the best ones I've had. We also tried the eggplant parm which was good but a bit too much breading for me. You have to get dessert as well - the cheesecake is made in house and so creamy and rich. It's lighter than a normal cheesecake which made it even better! The tiramisu is also amazing. Well,,, as my very first and "MAYBE" my very last time I don't know if I'll ever go again because my food was so nasty. I couldn't eat it. I ordered lasagna. There was no noodles in it. It was just just mushed up sausage topped with some melted cheese. It was the worst thing I've ever eaten. In fact I didn't eat it. I had a couple bites, but I mostly ate the bread and embarrassed to send it back or tell them I couldn't eat it. I paid for it. I'm so disgusted. I've been wanting a good lasagna for weeks and it was a tossup between this place or Olive Garden and I figured this should be good but it was really nasty really bad. I'm 77 years old and believe me I have had lasagna. Do not order lasagna here. There were a lot of people it seemed busy. I know it's I heard it was a good popular place I've never had their pizza, but I'm telling you don't get lasagna ever unless you want mushed ups Italian sausage covered with a little mozzarella, an edible.!!! On Thursday evening, I ordered a special family dinner for my family as a take-out meal. We were so excited to have authentic Italian food as we have always enjoyed coming to Jozanna's and promised my 90-year-old mother a big treat! Unfortunately, the entire dinner was terrible. I honestly can't say one positive thing about the meal. Where should I start. We ordered garlic bread with cheese. The garlic loaf was entirely covered with minced garlic on both sides. Not edible. I asked for extra bread as my mother loves bread with her dinner. We received extra bread, but it was 4 very hard sub rolls. I ordered baked ziti which was mushy. The side order of meatballs were spongy - felt like they were frozen then microwaved before serving to us. Last item was chicken parm. The chicken parm was covered by baked ziti and drowned in sauce. It was very hard to stomach any of the food. The penne pasta was mushy and not al dente. I am not looking for anything from the restaurant, but I will not return, this used to be my go-to restaurant that I raved about. I don't know what happen to the quality of food. read more
