We always enjoy eating at Trattoria Uno. We popped in at about 4:30 after an afternoon of errands. We were not the only people in the dining area and there was a lot of traffic in the pizza area as well. That's a good sign of the restaurant's popularity. We started with the calamari. It was a huge portion! The calamari was tender and delicious. We each ordered a sandwich- I had the meatball Parmesan and my husband had the Trattoria Uno special deli sandwich. Since we were dining in, we had the selection of either fries or salad. I had the salad, Tom had the fries. My salad was very fresh and the sandwich was delicious. My husband enjoyed his sandwich as well. The staff, as usual, was very pleasant. FYI-The restaurant does charge the credit card up charge, so I recommend bringing cash if you're able. Really lovely trattoria in the back of a very popular place to pick up pizzas ! Right across the street from the Townplace suites so super handy ! Service: Great, friendly staff. Quick turnaround time on my order. Good price for the size sandwich you get. Food: I've never ordered anything from Trattoria before but others say the pizza is great. I tried the Chicken Caesar Panino and it was not what I expected out of a sandwich under the Panini section. Paninis are usually served warm after being grilled or toasted which this sandwich was not. The bread was also not your typical panini bread but honestly... I thought the bread was the best part of the sandwich. In addition, I'm not sure what the seasoning of the chicken was but it didn't seem to belong in a Caesar sandwich. I appreciate the caution for soaking it in dressing but there wasn't much Caesar taste to this sandwich. It really does have potential - but I'm going to need to stick to the pizza at Trattoria and say no to the pani - no next time around. read more

On a Monday night with many restaurants closed, thought I would give this a try. Placed my order online for a pick up on the way out from work. It was nice to be greeted by the staff behind the counter as soon as I entered which I appreciated after a hectic day at work. Ordered a sandwich and chicken parm meal to go... on the sandwich I stated I did not want any onions and was under the impression according to the menu that sandwiches were made with lettuce tomato, onions, oil and vinegar, mayo... the usual. My son can't eat onions, so I noted no onions. Got home and the sandwich had nothing but onions??? Was this a joke? Nothing else other than the meat and cheese, and onions. We had a packed schedule so there was no time to go back to fix the order. I gave him my dish and while the portion was plenty, half of the chicken was okay, but the other half was rubbery chicken, either under cooked, or frozen for too long and re-heated. It was inedible. Trattoria Uno lies along the busy US Highway 202. There is a medium-sized parking area in front of the plaza the pizzeria is a part of. Inside lies a welcoming interior with good lighting, clean tables, and great decorative wall hangers. The staff was very polite and friendly and the slice selection was excellent. I decided to go with the meat lovers and the tomato slice. They were not stingy on the meat with this slice...it came fully loaded. Very filling. The tomato slice benefitted from amazing sauce. There was a good amount of cheese and the ratio to the sauce was excellent. Both slices had a nice crisp crust and base. The tomato slice is a real winner, and one of the better ones I've enjoyed in Somerset County. Overall, this place has my approval! Excellent pizza! read more

I got this first tasting at my friends birthday party, vodka penne pasta , after that i visited this place myself and ordered Tiramisu, garlic bread sticks, Penne primevera.. It came with a salad, any chicken, veal, or eggplant entree with side of pasta or veggies and a cannoli for dessert - all for about $15 (cash only though). Food rarely disappointed and it's a great deal if you're in the mood for a classic Italian dinner out. However, with COVID I don't know if they still offer this special since it was for dine in only - maybe they allow it with takeout? Anyways, we were recently in the area and made a quick stop to pick up some chicken parm subs. It was delicious and the perfect ratio of chicken cutlet strips to sauce and cheese - nothing's worse than an overly sauced chicken parm! This place is fantastic! The penne pizza and lasagna pizza are absolutely delicious, and 2 12" were more than enough for our family of 4. I also love that their wings are fried and the sauce is on the side. The service was excellent and they were handling the dinner rush efficiently and gracefully. The manager or owner (I think his name was Angelo?) had this place running like a well oiled machine. They also anticipated that we needed forks, napkins, and plates and packaged it all up upon learning we were from out of town. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area! read more

Nice family-friendly place with good food and service. Full sit-in or carryout available. Very nice and friendly wait and serving staff. Food portions are good - you are likely to leave with the next-days lunch. Fresh mozzzzzarella with tomatoes and pear insalate with gorgonzola cheese for apps served four of us well. Could spot only one veggie pasta but they gladly accommodated our Penne alla Vodka minus the prosciutto request. Penne was good. Their Rigatoni Arrabiata who was quite good though the zucchini pieces were a bit hard (no I don't mean al dente). Personal veggie pizza had good veggies but the cheese was rather unremarkable. And yes, forgot to tell them to charr the crust well - so had a bit of mushy crust to deal with. Place is in a small plaza that has plenty of parking. Nicely surprised - initially I thought a pizza place with the usual simple pastas but this is a real trattoria with very good entrees. Salmon was excellent over rice with fresh spinach, the special pizza slices were very very good again with quality looking and tasting ingredients, any my guest enjoyed chicken and sausage dishes. I've been coming here for years. A great little Italian restaurant with good quality food and fast service. We usually have the same waiters who are pleasant, move quickly and suggest the specials that are offered. Tuesdays are all night lunch prices, which is pretty much half off your usual dinner entree. I think this is a great way to get customers in here. I like the layout of the place, pizzeria in the front and wine and dine in the back. There are tables for two or larger circular tables for big groups. It's BYOB which is also nice. The complimentary bread that is served is always fresh and classic Italian dishes, chicken, veal, shrimp are delicious. Never had a bad experience here. Order the cannoli! Yum! read more

Since Eden East (Chinese food) stopped having dine in we decided to try this Italian restaurant. We've actually been meaning to for a while now so glad we finally made it. Calamari appetizer was excellent, best I've ever had and I've had it from a lot of places. Penne with chicken for me was also amazing, sundried tomatoes, broccoli rabe, garlic chicken and pasta, how can you go wrong. The salmon was also very good. This is our go to stop whenever we are in the mood for Italian! Everything is freshly made and the staff is extremely accommodating! Anything you order from here is a good choice, from the pizza to the entrees--everything is legit. They also accommodate for parties in which we had them cater and everyone enjoyed the baked ziti, sausage and peppers as well as the bruschetta chicken. We use them to cater for us when we go to the outer banks on vacation as well as dinner while at home. We get the Eggplant Parm, Chicken Parm, and Meatballs all packed and frozen to go. Don't get me wrong EVERYTHING ON THE MENU IS AMAZING but the wings sold us. Before calling Trattoria Uno my boyfriend tried every other pizza place and always had a complaint about the wings so I said "You have on more chance, we're trying Trattoria Uno and if you don't like their wings then you just can't order wings anymore." Called up Trattoria Uno and FINALLY no more searching for GOOD WINGS!!! Enough about the wings though, they have real good pizza and pasta. I went in for lunch and decided to sit down with my computer. I ordered a tuna sandwich. Simple right? No. First, it took 30 minutes and I had to ask twice where it was. When it came out, fries were cold and tuna was out of a can. No onions, celery, mayonnaise--nothing. Completely dry. I would have said the 30 minutes was to make the tuna, but it was literally from the can, and not the good kind either--the cheap grey kind. I left most of it on my plate and left to tell them I couldn't eat it. Here is the zinger: as I told the guy at the counter (he looked like the mgr or owner but who knows) he just stared at me.
