Lisa Rose and David Gerber from JR Johnson spearheaded both the clearing of debris, landscaping and replacing her 40 plus year old carpet, with a beautiful vinyl plank floor. Built a lovely ramp for my sister so she could have two ways out of her home, fixed her drywall and then found her a new refrigerator, washer and dryer and a brand new mattress. After a leak in my condo due to a burst pipe in a unit above me, JR Johnson arrived quickly to mitigate the water damage and hard to dry things out so that a minimal amount of destruction of walls and cupboards, etc was necessary. The reconstruction team was just as conscientious working efficiently and cleaning up at the end of the project. When there was a small adjustment needed on the floor replacement , the team and supervisor came out quickly to adjust and clean the floors. Throughout this and the rest of the rehab in the common halls and other units JR Johnson employees were friendly, cooperative, and informed me of the next phase ahead of time. They clearly were trying to minimize the irritation of the experience for owners and please us. The manager of the team was responsive and has trained and supervised his employees well. read more

all six units were flooded in my condo building. Dec 2018. JR Johnson did the work. Present day When it came time to get new vinyl flooring for the bathroom floor. Crown carpet wanted to do asbestos test and I told him JR Johnson just replaced it in 2019. Brad. Schmautz went the extra mile to find the paperwork and give it to me to show crown carpet. They didn't need to do Asbestos test. The email he sent with the information they said it wasn't good enough so when I asked him to resend it. We were replacing our front stairs when our contractor alerted us to significant dry rot in the privacy wall between our and our neighbor's row house. Our neighbor had noticed the same and so we agreed to get this repaired. Our neighbor is a former property manager and so she was kind enough to take the lead on the bid process and after reviewing multiple firms we settled on JR Johnson based on a combination of expertise, value and responsiveness. JR Johnson had completed a major project on the complex across the street and the work was top notch, so we were super happy to be able to engage them to do the work, especially for our small job. Albert Canahai was the PM on the project and did a fantastic job keeping us in the loop and making things right! For example, this wall is something like 20' high and when the crew original spliced the front facia board and we pointed this out, they replaced then entire board. Likewise, the gutter is on this wall as well and the crew made sure to dis-assemble and re-assemble the gutter every single time they were doing work. Finally, Albert was super helpful when we wanted to add an additional protectant under the stairs and got that done for us as well. So the bottom line is we received top notch, quality work at a fair price and knew the cost with no surprises. A flooding event occurred in my condo. The JR Johnson mitigation team was there quickly to dry it out. After the scope of work was determined and insurance hammered out, we started demo and construction. We had to replace subfloors and flooring and ended up completely renovating the kitchen. Once the project was handed over to the project manager, Tom Armour, progress was steady. The schedule was updated and shared with me regularly so I knew what was coming up and could be ready. Tom visited the site regularly to access progress and send me pictures. Any shortcomings were addressed quickly. Communication made all the difference as I live two hours away and couldn't always be there. We are happy with the process and the results. read more

Our HOA board selected JR Johnson to perform a remediation project at our condo community of flats and townhomes. I think I can speak not only for the board but also for all who live here that we were pleased with the progress of the project and the professionalism and responsiveness of JRJ. We had formed an ad hoc committee of a few homeowners who would liaise between JRJ and the board. While I wasn't looking forward to that extra duty, I would say that this committee enjoyed our weekly meetings with the JRJ team due, in part, to the good humor of all involved week after rainy week. Working with JR Johnson, James Roberts and Sergio (crew Forman for roofers) takes the worry out of having a job well done. Recently, our condominium clubhouse needed a new roof. It was leaking badly from under the roof solar panels that were out dated. They removed the panels, repaired the roof in a few days. The crew and Forman Sergio did an excellent job. Kept the areas around the clubhouse clean and free of debris. The workers were friendly, polite and hard working. They checked in with our board daily and updated us on their progress. Had this company consult on some mold growing on the backside of our roof sheeting, a lot of mold. They were contracted to replace the roof and remediate, ended up short cutting and billing us way more than hours worked. They billed us for guys sitting in a van for 3 hours. Ended up not replacing all of the roof but "sanding" it off, still looks terrible. When I brought up questions regarding workmanship their billing lady flew off the handle, I paid I full but I shouldn't have. Terrible, stay away. read more

I am highly impressed with JR Johnson! These guys were contracted by our home builder of D.R. Horton to address one year warranty repair work in our home. We had various drywall issues of cracking, shrinking corners, nail pops, paint issues, and even creaky floors. JR Johnson was very prompt and organized in scheduling. They sent Wilfred Rodriguez and Jarrod Simpson to our home and they did a phenomenal job. They have a strong eye for detail and did a very clean and professional job. You can tell that these guys take pride in their work and will take the time to do the job correctly rather than rushed. They carefully moved things as needed, masked off areas and covered the floors, and even vacuumed up when finished. Very clean & professional! Also these two guys work well with each other, and are very funny together with a great energy between them. They were very friendly with us as well. Our house needed to get the decks fixed and the complete housefront redone due to water/weather issues because the house was poorly build 11 years ago. JR Johnson did a great, fast and clean job on this. The work task they completed included: - Lifting two decks by 6 inches and more - redid the complete base structure of the decks - removed damaged house front, garage beams, etc. and replaced all rotten parts with new and/or better materials - installed a water drainage to keep water away from the house - painted the house front so now it looks like new again I can highly recommend working with JR Johnson. I had other contractors work on the house before and always had issues during and after the work. Don't know if you're coming or going with these guys, extremely poor communication towards completion dates and day to day crew activity. Sometimes they simply don't show up at all leaving property owners in the lurch. Whiny comments about parking and having to walk up stairs. Crew leaves their lunch trash in your home. Would not recommend, pretty much an "at their mercy, we'll get there when we get there" type of arrangement. Jason is not the kind of guy who answers calls or lets you know where you stand far as getting life back to normal, such is my current experience. read more

After months, yes months of runaround trying to get someone to just come out and look at our issue, they finally told me today they would not be able to help me. No real explanation as to why. The team at JR Johnson did such a terrific job refinishing our deck that we had to power wash all of our outdoor furniture to make it look as good as the deck. What a giant job they had - 30 floors, 300 units, and they did it all on time. They were courteous, friendly and professional. The deck looks terrific. This company was hired by my condo's HOA to repair a water line break in the building I live in. They told us the water would be turned off from 8am-10am. Long story short, we residents were without water for 13-hours, until 9pm. It seemed the one technician they sent out was gone more than on-site. I'm sure there was more going on than meets the eye with coordinating several entities to okay digging a hole, assessing the damage, acquiring the necessary equipment to replace the damaged portion of the pipe. Granted, I don't know the logistics of what goes into this type of repair, still...13-hours? To their credit, the technician stuck with it until 9:15pm when the water was finally turned back on; thus the two stars. read more

During a windstorm in the spring of 2017, my neighbor's tree fell into my house. I was completely shocked at the massive "problem" I now had on my hands, and somewhat mentally paralyzed on how to proceed with getting a temporary fix, working with the insurance company, and organizing various contractors to complete the repairs. Within a few hours, I called JR Johnson and I immediately felt at ease. They were excellent at communicating at every stage of the repair, organized every person who was working on my property and had it complete within a few months - they worked amazingly well with my unresponsive insurance company. If it wasn't for JR Johnson's professional approach to the matter, I'm confident my insurance company and I would still not have come to resolution. Like any remodel/repair there were a few missteps along the way by a few contractors, but JR Johnson handled it immediately. Watch out for this company's construction workers. They whistle and make inappropriate comments to women in the complex. Watch out for your kids and wives if your complex decides to employ and work with this company. Also, their construction workers don't know how to read no parking signs and continue to park in no parking areas, to include in front of fire hydrants and exits specifically made for firetrucks. read more

Simply uncommunicative, unprofessional and ended up costing me money when it was not even my property. They recently did work on the exteriors of the Arbor Roses neighborhood and the last straw was a staple in my motorcycle tire that cost $240 to replace. The work was done in seemingly random time frames and it took close to a year to complete when we were told it should be a couple months. We have had workers ripping into people's window screens, damaging entry and garage doors, leaving messes inside of homes and that does not begin to touch it. The workers consistently left nails, staples, and other materials all over the properties. My kids found nails going to the mailbox. There was tyvek in the bushes, and we go no warning for entry to taping our door for painting. Emails about issues go unanswered, so I'll warn others about this beforehand. Go with someone else unless you want it done way past the communicated date and don't mind cleaning up after them. read more

QUITE POSSIBLY THE WORST CONSTRUCTION COMPANY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have been remodeling our home for the past 2 years!!!! I say that again TWO YEARS!! All they have done in those 2 years is replace the siding & paint the outside!!!!! We live in an apartment complex, but our building is no bigger than a 5 bedroom house, and it has taken them that long just to do those 2 things on our building. I worked in construction and I can tell you that there is absolutely NO WAY it should take that long to do anything to a building that size. There is a complex down the street that is twice the size of ours, AND IT WAS COMPLETELY BUILT IN LESS TIME. Now for the worst part. They have been coming in and out of our home as they please for 2 FULL WEEKS! They are suppose to be doing work to the vents so they gave us a notice of entry that they say is good for 2 weeks! This technically is illegal because notice of entries are only good for 7 days. They were suppose to be done with all of this within a couple months. They have been doing this remodeling the entirety of our lease, and not only are we not getting a rent reduction THEY JUST INCREASED OUR RENT. THANKS A LOT MAIN STREET VILLAGE. ALSO DONT EVER RENT FROM AFFINITY PROPERTY MANAGEMENT OR GET AN APARTMENT AT MAIN STREET VILLAGE IN TIGARD! read more

These guys are used to billing their work through insurance, thus their over-billing for people who are physically present at your home, but not actually doing anything. They did fantastic work on my house, but I challenged them on the number of hours they billed me and they appeased me with a random 10% discount. read more

They market their company for small-large jobs but fail to deliver for small jobs/properties/companies. They could have saved my property a ton of time by just telling us that they aren't interested in working for my company, property, etc without the whole "cost me money to come out and bid for your small property...". While they may deliver to some, I can definitely say that they lack the courage to be honest.
