During inspection of the attic it was identified that we might have a leak issue at the roof line. I called five different Stucco companies that were referred to me for a repair and none of them were licensed. I found Joe who is licensed and he saved us! We were up against the clock in order to close. I was not a repeat Customer. This was the first time I ever dealt with him so he owed me nothing yet he treated me like we were the most important people. He did our repairs over a weekend to be ready for reinspection. I am extremely thankful to Joseph at JRP Plastering and Stucco for all of the help that he provided us with our leak situation. During the huge rains we had in Oceanside we developed a leak in our second floor bathroom in the area below a window. Various companies I called were not interested in trying to figure out the source of the problem and just blamed the windows. When I called Joseph however it was a different story. He is extremely detail oriented and took the time to investigate the potential causes. He determined it was from cracked stucco near the window, but not the window itself. Which made perfect sense with the location and behavior of the leak. He meticulously started opening up the stucco to see the extent of the damage. He found the paper under the stucco had deteriorated pretty severely on that wall due to the extreme sun exposure over the years. He continued to open it up until he was comfortable that he had exposed all the issues. After replacing all the damaged areas, stuccoing the entire wall and repainting, you couldn't even tell the whole side had been opened up. He even took the time to examine all the windows above the area of the leak for any damage, and thoroughly cleaned them and even resealed them. We also had Joseph remove a statue from an alcove and re stucco the area. And again, his work was impeccable. Paint matching was perfect. He took pictures of everything as he worked, he explained all of the things he was doing and why he was doing them. His pricing was very fair and communication was very good. On a personal note, he was a pleasure to work with. I appreciate his attention to detail, and his quality work. But he was also just a kind and friendly person to talk with. He would even offer to pick up food or supplies for us if we needed anything when he was on his way or getting supplies. I highly recommend Joseph in all regards. read more

Had this company scheduled for today and they were a no call no show. Ask for a quote offered photos and accuate sqft of work to be completed and the person based their qoute on photos unknowingly excuding effort that was to be completed. I asked for an updated quote 2 days ago to inckude that work and they did not provided it only offering excuses. I seems to me this company would rather nickle and dime you on stuff they excluded from the bid because they dont even come out to see the site, then use the "extra little" stuff to add cost to the project. Joe and his team performed some stucco repair I needed on my house that came from weather and some poorly aimed sprinklers. They were able to tear down and rebuild that stucco and did a great job blending in the texture and color to match the existing house. We were extremely happy to have Joseph & Manny out to work a job at our house! We had a plumbing leak and to fix it in the easiest manner we had to re-route the plumbing. I used JRP a few years back to completely RE-stucco our house from a rough mission style to a softer Santa Barbara style. The work was fantastic. So my home burnt down two years ago because of an electrical fire. Joe came into "save the day" because of another company really messed up a smooth texturing job (Brian Occoult, please don't even think about this guy). Joe is a great guy and I'm sure can do a great job. Seems to have way over committed and has taken more than 60 days beyond committed to. Classic contractor behavior. Never showed up on time, sometimes didn't show at all on a scheduled day. Thus the project dragged on for months. After I'd paid, he promised to finally come and finish the project. Instead he blew me off with an insulting text. Even worse, the work was sloppy. Finally, he never sent promised estimates for some needed additional steps to complete the project. Those steps were nowhere near the cost of the original project - but ended up DOUBLING the original estimate. read more

Joseph isn't the most conventional of contractors (e.g., we did everything via text and photos), no full estimate or invoice - more of a handshake agreement and we both kept our side of the bargain and he did a fantastic job! His estimate was fair, he stuck to it, and the work is really great - textured exactly the way the house was, so when we eventually paint the house, it's gonna look fantastic. We needed URGENT stucco repair or the HOA was going to fine us. They gave us only a couple of days. I reached out via Yelp and received a call back very fast. I talked with Joe for a while and he asked some good questions. I also brought up that I had done some research and reached out to other businesses as well. I asked him if he had a certain color and was very knowledgeable about stucco color and mixing, whereas the other two business said they would go to Home Depot to color match, which would not work based on the color I needed, but they didn't tell me that. He also came in substantially cheaper than the other businesses. He showed up that same day to look at the repair. Then came a day later and he filled in the initial repair but said he would have to be back to blend in once it dried. He came back and it looks perfect! He also fixed another tiny repair for free. We replaced our electrical panel on our new home & our electricians said only one guy was good enough for them to recommend and that's Joe! They were not wrong!! It was a couple of years ago when I was in a bad position and left with scaffold all around my house with a stucco contractor that wouldn't come back! I called a few companies, to see if they would complete the job, but 2 companies would not touch it, and another contractor, who I didn't get a good read on, shot me a number that was crazy $! Then, I MET JOE! He advised me of what's needed as if he's seen this happen before. He gave me a quote, told me how and when he could finish and fix the "Bad stucco guy's" mistakes. Then, he did what he said. The house is stunning with a beautiful Santa Fe soft stucco. What a transformation! Even after a few years, it looks new & beautiful. I feel bad for not putting out a review back then, I was probably just too stressed. I'm writing now because after all the rain this year, my home was leaking in 2 places. No one I called out to the house could figure it out. I was worried. Then, I remembered Joe and he came right out with one call. Guess what, of course, he nailed it! He explained exactly why it was leaking and what was going on and "No charge" "No problem", "Call me anytime" is all he said! Five years ago we had Joe restucco our Mission style home. He did an excellent job. He was especially helpful and wise in recommending a texture, selecting the best color, and recommending an acrylic stucco. The job held up excellently well. We just had a new foundation built for our home and this required removing a band of stucco about 18 inches wide around the house. Joe came to rescue and did a fantastic job at matching the color and texture. After his repair you cannot even tell it was done. Took forever for him to show up, "I'll be there Mon or Tuesday " turned into him showing up on a Friday. Then scheduled for him to be at my house at 9 am and he didn't show up until noon.
