I'm so glad they started to deliver because it was a little annoying living in flying hills ("literally 5 min away) and I couldn't get my food delivered. Not a super thin crust which I love! My wife and I ordered dinner from here for the first time last night. we weren't disappointed that we did. we had a plain cheese pizza and a Jr's special grinder ( turkey and ham). I have a new favorite sandwich now. it was outstanding. the pizza was also very good, looking forward to next time with some toppings. we also got some of the chocolate cake with cream cheese icing, YUM ! This place is tucked away which might keep the traffic down but it's a real good , new go to place for takeout. we're also looking forward to a nice sit down dinner there. keep up the good work. read more

My daughter and I get food from here often- I'm not sure why this is the first time I've thought to review. Over the past two years that we've lived in Flying Hills, I have ordered MANY of their menu items, and have never been disappointed. Their pan pizza has to be my favorite- but we've also enjoyed their sandwiches, wings, chicken fingers, wraps.... I could go on. They also sell delicious homemade cakes and cookies. I've made a few runs just for a slice of cake! Beyond their delicious food, there is a family atmosphere when you walk through those doors. The owner, Mike, is regularly there working right alongside the team. They remember you, welcome you, and make sure you leave with a smile. There may be lots of "competition" in the area, but JR's has the atmosphere that nowhere else could possibly compete with! read more

Horrible beyond belief. Order was not correct, given food not ordered and did not get food that was ordered. Closed at 8 not 9 as advertised. Asked for gratuity while ordering. When we said we did not get what we ordered they argued with us. They told us they were out of steak for steak sandwiches and then substituted steak for chicken steak. I remembered when this place was Pizza Como and I decided to give it a try when I moved back to the area. The stucco exterior of the building reminded me of a cantina and looked like it had not been updated since Ford was in office. I decided to capitalize on the outdoor seating because of the unseasonably nice weather we were having that Saturday afternoon. Bad idea. While I was waiting for my server, I noticed a rank stench wafting toward my table. I later learned that the source of this foul odor was a few industrial sized dumpsters that may or may not have been utilized by the restaurant as there was an apartment complex nearby. The menu also left al lot to be desired. First, they did not have a brick oven. boo hiss. And they had tacos, wtf? I decided to order the sausage and peppers. It was mas o menos. Service was good, but I really couldn't get past the fact that, when I ordered a ginger ale, the waitress said we do not have that, and then suggested, and I quote, "I can mix Pepsi with Serria Mist for you, it tastes just like ginger ale." It took all I had to not exit the premises instantly. Let's just say, I declined dessert. read more

We had no idea this little gem was sitting just down the street from my parent's apartment! We must have eaten there 5 times in the last week, and they never missed a beat. Their cheesesteaks are yummy! If I had one (super minor) complaint, it was that they laid the cheese on top of the sandwich and then rolled it in foil - the cheese was fused to the foil and I missed my provolone-y goodness. Good italians, the mozzarella sticks are mom-approved. Solid restaurant in the middle of nowhere, I highly recommend it! read more

This place is by far the worst pizza in the greater Reading area. The pizza literally falls apart while eating, is overly greasy, and the crust tastes like cardboard. I have been here twice because it is conveniently located in an apartment complex/shopping center next to a golf court I frequent and I will never go again, as I would not take a slice of this pizza if it were free. read more

I love JR's! First of all, the owners are just incredible and remember you, making you feel like family every time you go in. The pizza, strombolis, sandwiches,etc.... are top notch, and the prices can't be beat. I recently went into JR's as a part of a group that filled both the restaurant and the outside space...as twice the number that was estimated showed up. With a smile, the staff of JR's accommodated this large group and put out delicious food in quick order. Also, Cindy makes fresh cakes and desserts daily that are very yummy!
