Finally discovered this place after vacationing here yearly for a decade. I grew up in eastern Carolina and don't often get to enjoy burgers with chili and coleslaw in Ohio unless I luck into a joint that has them as add on sides. On more then a few occasions I've driven us out of the way to topsail to swing through Elizabethton to stop at Melvin's, but now I know better. I can save an hour of my life and get a better burger on the island. It's not just dbout the toppings, the burgers are juicy and a great size. The hotdogs are so good. A little overpriced for what it was, but the service was quick and the food itself was pretty standard/generic. They have a vegetarian option. - lightlife smart dogs ($3.99 for a 8 pack in stores, so they're definitely overpriced) They do have a good amount of shaded picnic table seating, which is nice, but it gets very crowded on sunny days and weekends. Unfortunately, someone got sick right in front of us at the picnic tables, and the area wasn't cleaned or rinsed down. I understand unexpected situations happen, and I'm not entirely sure what the proper response process is, but the smell and overall situation completely ruined my appetite. Hot dogs are a popular beach food in Surf City and Hot Diggity Dogz is the place to go. The colorful hot dog stand is just across the street from the beach. They must have limited off season hours because the first time we stopped by they were closed. But last Friday, we were able to try several of their popular dogs. The menu is vast and they serve burgers and other food besides dogs. I had the famous Carolina dog that had chili sauce and Cole slaw. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to slaw on a dog, but it was good. My husband had the Beach Dog which was immense and messy. He loved it. The Beach dog was a delicious blend of chili, slaw, onions and mustard. Service was friendly and quick. We ate at the tables in front of the stand which were clean! There is parking that is free off season, but I'm not sure about high season. read more

We didn't have a hot dogs but the chicken tenders were slightly undercooked & the chili cheese fries were cold & tasteless. Nothing fancy about this place and honestly that's what makes it great, lots of different dogs on the menu from super dressed to naked and everything in between. I took my bestie for lunch here today because I've been wanting to try it for couple years now. The only downfall at this location is parking because people park here and go to beach. We got there as they opened and we're lucky to find a spot. They serve sabrett hot dogs and all kinds of toppings! I got the surf dog.. cheese , bacon and mustard.. they do have ketchup they can give you in packets but you won't see it was ingredient on the dogs lol.. even the buns were soft and delish!! I was pretty impressed they could sell a dressed hot dog for that price because in our economy right now everything's so expensive! They don't just have hot dogs folks! They have burgers ,pulled pork ,bologna sandwiches ice cream for the kids, icees too!! What a great location too right across street from the beach access at buddys at surf city!! They have properly made Sabrett hot dogs on (Martin's?) potato buns, though, for a few bucks right off the beach. They cost a few bucks, and they make them quickly. I am a local and normally try to stay away from some of the restaurants in surf city in the summer. However, this winter with the temps we have been making our way to the island and wanted to try out Hot Diggity Dogs. They have all sorts of variations and the prices are so cheap (very pumped about that). This place does have a line most days, regardless of the season, however, they are quick with their orders and it is always made right then and there. What a cute little hot dog stand! Decided to head to surf city for the day and needed lunch. Yelp suggested this hot dog stand and what's better than hot dogs at the beach? Plenty of outdoor seating, right next to public beach access points which was great. They also take Apple Pay which was even better considering we forgot our wallets. We got three chili dogs, one with onions and loaded fries as well. They were standard sized hot dogs like you get from the grocery store, so I thought they were a little over priced which is the only reason I don't give five stars. I also hasn't realized that the loaded fries were almost $8 which is just a little steep in my opinion for concession-stand style fries.
