We got to try it! Worth it! Coastal Lobster Roll with Chips and Lobster Loots (Lobster Cheese Risotto Balls with Bacon Jam). Pricing reasonable. Those homemade spiral chips are a nice touch, and the bacon jam is awesome with it's smokiness! My picky 3 year old son ate 3 risotto balls! Fried outside, soft and cheesy inside. The lobster rolls were slightly smaller than expected, and we prefer a little less steamed, but it was not rubbery. Chives were a nice topping. Wish they offered Lobster tacos like Cousins Maine Lobster Truck.

Decided to try this food truck out at the Mac and Cheese Festival. It was shortly after noon, when the festival started. There were several other patrons in line and several waiting for their order. I had decided on the Claws and Cheese, since I wanted both lobster and Mac and cheese. I had seen an older go by me while I was in line and it looked perfect. Ordered quickly and while I was paying my order arrived. It was a smallish container , maybe 12 ounces with a lid on it. Grabbed my utensils and off I went. Found a table and opened the lid. It had plenty of claws in top and there was plenty of cheese sauce. Sadly it was lukewarm, so this the stars are less. The cheese sauce was liquid, in a good way and had great flavor. The lobster also lukewarm. I wished that they offered knives so I could savor each bite of macaroni (macaroni) with a piece of lobster. If any seasoning was needed I would have said a little pepper. I would go to this food truck again , but make sure next time that the food was hot.

Crab cake sandwiches were also a great selection, good seasoning amd meaty. Service was spot on and they made you feel as though you were one of the many locals that frequent their establishment. Will def make this a stopping point wheter driving by or staying in town.

There were a few restaurants but MJ's stood out amongst the rest for the photos and reviews. MJ's is located in downtown New Bern. The restaurant is not very big but the wait (20-25 mins) was worth it. We ordered the Admirals Platter which had oysters, clams, shrimp, and crab legs. The oysters were steamed to perfection, the clams were not dried out, the shrimp was perfectly seasoned with Old Bay and red onions and the crab legs were not dried out. What I am trying to say is, the seafood was fresh and not pre-cooked. It was cook to order. Our waiter was awesome. Even though the restaurant was packed full, he paid attention to our needs. Our glasses never got empty. He kept our table cleared by replacing the shell bucket without asking. We really appreciate the customer service. After dinner, we decided on dessert and had the lemon blueberry pie. I highly recommend it ... deliciousness!!! Thank you MJ's for a special time with delicious food. If we are back in New Bern, you will be a definite choice for seafood.

If this is your first visit, you place your order at the counter and grab a seat. They'll bring your freshly prepared order directly to your table. I have been craving fried soft shell crab for weeks and finally had the opportunity to enjoy some! If you don't appreciate them, you don't know what you're missing! I decided to add the premium side Crab Tots ($1.99 when added to the meal). I'd never had them before and will definitely order them again! All of my meal items were served fresh and hot!! Everyone in our group cleaned their plates, so you know the quality and quantity of the food was outstanding! On my way out, I spotted the owner Trey sitting at a booth enjoying his lunch. I didn't want to disturb him, so I offered my compliments to the cashier. As I was telling them how much we appreciated the exceptional food and service, Trey got up from his meal and walked over to thank me for coming in. He is a true gentleman and wonderful servant of our community! If you haven't already given them a try, drop by the Front Street Fish Co for lunch or dinner. Also check out the fresh fish in their market next door!! You won't be disappointed!

I have to say, this "chowder" was the worst I've ever had and it's not even close. It tasted, and looked, straight out of a Campbell's soup can. It had hardly no clams and maybe two tiny potato bits. The base tasted just like cream of chicken soup and it was the same consistancy. I even checked with the girl at the front counter to make sure I got the right soup because it was not even close to being a chowder. Even though I didn't like the soup, no one offered to reimburse me for it. All of the other food was ok with the fried shrimp being the best. The whiting and okra both tasted a little like they were fried in old grease.
