But the story I got was, that they originally raised milk cows. They used the grass-based milk that their cows were producing to make handcrafted cheeses. Eventually also opening a restaurant. I try to regularly pop into the South Eden Plantation, especially in the fall and on one of their live music nights. The wine menu is extensive and all available by the glass, which may make the decision-making process more difficult, but you'll always end up with a good wine. I eventually made up my mind with the old vine zinfandel followed by a glass of sangria, paired with the delicious cheese platter. With those hard decisions over, I could sit back, sip on my wine, and listen to some music, while the cicadas played their own music in the trees. It is always a pleasant experience at the Cream of the Crop Cafe and I can't wait to visit again for some more front porch sitting.
