Have been offered lower rates several times by other brokers but I wouldn't risk switching a few dollars saving for an amazing customer service i have been getting for almost 8 years straight. We have been clients of James (JSB) since he started years ago. I worked with his sister and he use to be a great advocate and insurance provider with competitive rates. This company is way too big, rude agents with terrible customer service. Not what we want at all. In the last few years, we have asked for a review of our car policy and the cost of insurance and we were alway told, "these are the best rates and with new laws you can't get the kind of coverage you have with a new policy." Blah blah blah. We were paying over 555.00 a month for liability for 3 cars, granted my son is a new driver, but high. I looked into it myself and found that I can get a policy with full coverage on one vehicle, and liability on the other two for 300.00 a month with the exact same cover. I looked into the fine print. JSB insurance is not looking out for its clients. It's in bed with a few companies keeping clients at high rates, lying about what's out there. had a problem with them submitting my insurance to DMV contact them 5 times for 2 months nothing was ever done , DMV gave me a notice of cancellation which I had pay 14 per car to re instate it, no one ever help me I had been with them for several years there office staff is horrible they out you on hold for 1-2 hours and problem never fixed ended up going to another insurance and was cheaper sad to say !!! read more

Extremely poor service. We cancelled our homeowners' policy through JSB specifically due to the poor quality of service / ineptitude, and will never use them again. This guy keeps sending me spam email even though I have no interest in doing business with him. There is no way to opt out of his emails as required by law. 7/12 The broker fee was around $300 for a simple non-vehicle insurance policy. I was only able to get ahold of my broker by phone the first time I called. I told him that I was actively looking for a car and that I would need more quotes. For the next 3 weeks, I received half answers promising quotes that never got to me. On the last 2 weeks, I was completely ghosted. It was actually inhibiting me from buying the car because the insurance needed to be calculated in my budget. 8/5 On the fourth week, after I tried reaching out several times, the guy's manager texts me saying the guy was sick and he wanted to check in asking if I still needed a quote. Said yes, and that I wanted to buy the car that weekend, what should have been an easy quote on a brand new car, he waited until I was literally at the dealership several days later and gave me a quote that was DOUBLE the insurance payment I pay now, the reason it's so high was that "most insurances are not taking new clients right now"- what!? Hung up with him and found myself insurance after i heard this complete bs. Called Progressive, bam- easily started policy in 30 mins, with no hidden fees. Called JSB back and asked them to cancel my policy, and they told me to call the place myself. OK, I called, the insurance had to redo the paperwork because my name was spelled horribly wrong (not sure if the policy would have even worked had something happened). Said they would assess my premium return. When I asked for my insurance premium back from the insurer, they told me I OWED them money for the rest of the year, I canceled within that same month. -___- why hire a broker then, if they can't be transparent and follow through with you until the end? Just, don't do it if you've got a clean driving record and have and hour to shop for insurance yourself. Useless. read more

It's unfortunate to have to write this review in the first place. I've been with these guys several times over the years with different vehicles I have owned in the past and present from personal auto to commercial auto policies and I enjoyed the service but this last time I just felt basically abandoned like my time and business isn't worth anything. 2/12 on a Sunday. My insurance canceled through no fault of jsb times are hard didn't have the money in time for payment that's on me no biggie that's not what my complaints about. 2/13 Monday. I call up jsb see if I can get it reinstated or if I have to draft a new policy. They said we would have to draft a new policy, is what it is no complaints there again my fault on the lapse in coverage 2/14 new policy is ready they take $800 payment $400 is for insurance $400 is essentially there broker fee which is all good had to draft the new policy I get it time is money. 2/15 Before I even have time to sign the documents which I still have not yet as of writing this they get back to me and tell me my "truck" the same one they already have insured before from the policy that just lapsed from my missed payment is now a commercial vehicle and the new policy they just wrote is going to cancel because they wrote it as a personal auto policy and it's basically void and a whole new policy now has to get drafted. 2/16 - 2/17 They then give me a commercial quote of coarse which is substantially higher. "Why we could not just go with a different insurance company that did not classify it as a work truck I don't know" I ask for a refund and cancelation of the policy. The insurance provider will send back a pro rated amount "great" better then nothing . Jsb how ever says well, I wrote you a policy I did my job. I was literally written a bogus insurance policy that canceled. How should I know what the insurance provider would require nothing has changed it's the exact same truck they insured through a different company like that's not my fault in anyway. And to process my payment with out documents being signed then tell me it has to be canceled and keep my money is outrageous that In no way is good business practices and I am not out of line for asking for a refund on it. Because of this I can no longer recommend this company unfortunately. If you want to know what your worth to them basically $400 is your value as a customer. I called up other insurance people got insured no problems no hassles. Wish I could leave a positive review this time but that's my experience take it as you will. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with JSB so far, Payman was prompt and professional while finding me a policy that met my goals. I didn't realize it before switching but I must say, it's nice not to deal with poorly designed automated phone menus, waiting on hold through lunch breaks, sifting through piles of junk mail, explaining the same situation to five different reps, navigating clunky web interfaces, and all the other pains that come with dealing directly with big insurance companies. JSB handles everything for you, and in my experience they handle it fast. I spent weeks shopping around, calling all the major players and listening to their fuzzy hold music paired with a robot voice that loops over the same generic message every 30 seconds, starting the whole process over after getting disconnected, and giving them the same information time after time just to be disappointed by what they had to offer. I called JSB and Dan answered right away. I gave him my basic info, requirements for my cars, and explained my questionable driving record. The call took maybe 10 minutes, and just a few minutes after we got off the phone he sent me a text with my driving record and gave me an offer that was lower than anything I could find during my shopping. I took the offer and electronically signed a document he sent over. Done. That's it. I'm insured. Options, rates, coverage and communication have all been simplified. One less thing to worry about, time to move on with my life. Thanks again! read more

HORRIBLE company to deal with. I was charged a very high broker fee which would maybe be okay if they did their job well. They input my address, telephone and email wrong so I haven't received any mail from my insurers. Expect to be charged fees for any changes you make on your account. I'm in the process of switching to a different agent. I advise you to do some research.There are many who'll provide great service without a fee. Unfortunately, once I got signed up with them, my experience with this agency has been nothing but terrible. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. For no apparent reason, my car insurance premium got doubled with the renewal of my policy. I'm guessing that the agency probably can't do much about it (I'm not expecting an explanation either for why my premium got doubled in price), however, as I was in touch with my agent Payman, I made it clear to him that I did not want to renew this policy any further. He said he would shop around for a better deal and get back to me. He never did. Instead, he wanted to renew my policy. Again, I told him to cancel. The actual cancellation process was fine, however, once my policy expired, I was getting bombarded from the agency via text, phone calls and emails with a request to reinstate the policy. Not trying to solve any problems or issues -- just out there for me to blindly renew. On top of that, I was charged for the first month of the policy that I had cancelled -- I asked for a refund several times, however, every request was either brushed off or completely ignored. I am forced now to contact my bank for a charge back, as well as file a complaint with the California Department of Insurance. Good riddance. read more

They can't help you access your account if you for some reason can't access it. They also don't really care about helping you if you need help. read more

they don't care about you first of all I was suppose to Renew my insurance before the due date and semias the broker decides to erase my whole policy to act like he has to start from scratch my monthly payment was suppose to go down even cheaper is what he told me when I first got my six months and when I tried renewing it before the due date he said he found me a new insurance just to charge the brokers fee he kept telling me it was gonna be 1,100 and at the end I got charged $1500 money I didn't have. karmas great... then I went with another broker and he was mad because I told him I needed the email sent immediately and he said he cant do it another department does it which is a lie... after all I ask if he could do it and he says he has to take lunch. Assured me that $480 / month plus a $280 sign up fee was the best I would be able find anywhere for full coverage on my car as a 2 accident driver. Went to Progressive and got a $240 policy with a $40 signup fee immediately thereafter even with accidents on my record. I'm sure I could even find lower if I shopped around since I only checked with a couple other companies. On a follow up call they played it as if they were a specific company offering insurance and not an independent broker service as they advertise. Stay away! read more

Two stars for initial zeal and communication. Joe apparently gleaned my information from an auto insurance search I did on the internet. He contacted me and was extremely enthusiastic and available until he discovered one of my cars was difficult to get covered. He told me he would call me back in 5 mins and I have not spoken with him since. I texted him and he again said he was having trouble getting coverage for the 1986 Alfa and that he would let me know. Crickets... A week later I texted him again and have not heard back from him. This is in stark contrast to repeated texts and calls initially. This does not feel very good to me. Quick update -this place has rediculous fees for making changes to your policy. Removing a driver cost me $120 and the insurance is through alliance it's not great they also delete things from your policy like uninsured driver coverage without telling you. I'm not happy here just ended up here cause I used to like my broker he was the homie. read more

I just purchased insurance, and guess what? It wasn't from them. Now let me explain. This was the first time I shopped around for insurance ever since I can remember, I was always under the company coverage. The Sent me a very competitive quote with a great company, but it was a little too pricey for me. When I told the agent my concerns, he did his best to get me a lower rate, but ultimately, the price was still more than I could afford. It wasn't their fault or anything, it's just my car is really expensive to insure. At the end of it, the agent did the most unselfish thing and told me about this other really cool company which charges you based on the miles you drive. Since it was a different company, that meant he wouldn't make any money off of this deal, still he went ahead and even filled out the forms and got me exactly what I needed. I have never experienced an interaction with an unselfish insurance agent. These guys are definitely are my number one stop before I get insurance ever again! read more
