This review is long over due. I found JT's through a google search that eventually led me to Yelp to check his reviews. They were all spot on and 5 stars worthy. Food was absolutely delicious...we tried both preps of tri tip and both were equally delicious. The Mac and cheese was a crowd pleaser and the cobbler was amazing. As good as the food was what really stands out is the service and pleasure it was to deal with JT. By the end of our initial phone call it felt like I had known him for years. Friendly, patient and listened to exactly what I needed based on my number of guests. On the day of the event his drop off was spot on time and the set up was perfect. JT's BBQ catered the food at my family gathering and it was a hit. From the start, JT's BBQ was very responsive and offered several different menu options for my party. I opted to go with 3 meats: barbecue chicken, tri-tip, and the baby back pork ribs. All of the meats were delicious and juicy and the sauce was amazing. We also got dinotenders for the kids and that was also a hit with the little ones. For the vegetables we ordered corn on the cob, apple gorgonzola salad, and roasted vegetables. My favorites were the tri-tip, pork ribs, and corn on the cob. There are two bbq places that I am a fan of in the OC and JTs is one of them. Rare to find a place in South County that will appropriately char your edges and still keep it juicy and flavorful inside. I was hosting having a holiday function for our team at work and JT's hooked it up. Tri Tip, Chicken Breast, Roasted Veggies, Chili Corn on the Cob and Pinto Beans, and there wasn't any plate that wasn't cleaned off in the end. They offer pretty affordable prices too. We are a non profit so we didn't have a huge budget, but one of JT's packages was perfect for our needs, and he delivered the food and we were almost 20 miles away from his location. Super cool guy, his son answered the phone the first time I called and I thought I had the wrong number, he called me back immediately. We found JT online and thought we would take a chance for our beach barbecue and celebration for 60 people. JT and his family far exceeded our expectations! He and his family are fantastic and so easy to work with, and more importantly the barbecue was unbelievable. We had enough food for probably 80 people even ordering for 60 so JT really took care of us. JT's personal barbecue sauce and specialty salad dressing are unbelievable and we had beef brisket, chicken breast, and pulled pork and all were to die for. This review is way overdue! We used JT to cater my husband's 50th birthday party in July. JT patiently went over all of the menu options and helped create the perfect buffet for our party. We had over 70 guests and they couldn't stop talking about how delicious all of the food tasted. If you are going to want BBQ - then get it from JT! We called him at 2:30 on a Sunday (because the place we were planning to pick up our BBQ was closed). He returned our call quickly and was awesome about helping us, even though it was extremely short notice as we needed food for 6 pm that night! He helped us choose menu items that were possible to prepare in such a short time - we ended up getting chicken drummets, beef kielbasa sausage, and grilled trout. For our sides we got roasted potatoes, Caesar salad and Hawaiian rolls. Every thing was super delicious and perfectly cooked. The Caesar salad dressing was excellent, and the head-on trout was out of this world good. It has bones, and you have to carefully lift the spinal cord with the bones attached out, and there are still some bones you have to watch out for. It was so delicious, and the stray bones were pretty easy to see and remove, that it was totally worth it! JT also offered Sterno and utensils, and even fruit cobbler, but we didn't need any of that as we had baked our own pies earlier. You cannot go wrong going with JT! read more

Could not recommend the food more!! After being unsure about getting food catered that I had never tried JT was willing to do a sampling which wowed both my husband and I. So we ordered food for our daughter's first birthday and it was a COMPLETE HIT!!! Everyone loooooooved the food... including my one year old daughter who loved the potato salad and tri tip!! This BBQ caterer is no joke, their food is amazing! We went to a party that they catered and I couldn't stop eating this delicious food. Two kinds of tri-tip, BBQ and teriyaki, two kinds of wings, multiple sides and desserts, they had this amazing little thing that was called a cheeseburger-bob.
