If you need someone to flawlessly handle the catering for your event, then Hawaiian Luau OC is for you. I recently lost my wife of 40 years to cancer, and she was a Hawaiian dancer for many years. I thought do hold a luau style celebration of life to honor her endless Aloha Spirit and love of the Hawaiian culture. I did not know where to turn to begin to create a perfect evening to honor my wife, but I was blessed to discover Hawaiian Luau OC. From my first conversation with Steve, I instantly knew that I made the right choice. It was like talking to a friend from the first word, and I could tell he was fully invested in doing everything possible to make this evening memorable in every way. He even offered to prepare samples of his food and bring them to my home for my approval. Who does that anymore?!? On the day of my wife's celebration, Steve and his staff arrived right on time and set up a wonderful Hawaiian style buffet that was beautifully decorated. Every item of food they provided was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. I have been receiving compliments for two weeks from my guests saying the smoked pork was, "the best I've ever had" and the teriyaki chicken was so tender that it was like, "the filet mignon of chicken." Absolutely incredible food from the appetizers to the desserts. Now that the event has passed, I am actually kind of sad that I no longer get to work with Steve, because the experience was that enjoyable in every way. If you have an upcoming event, I hope you will consider Hawaiian Luau OC, because you will walk away with total satisfaction and a big smile on your face.

Chef Dawn and her staff are talented and professional and each time I have hired them, my guests have loved the food and I have received many compliments. They take care of everything including renting furniture, glassware etc. and for my daughter's recent college graduation party, they even arranged for a great photo booth, which everyone loved. They create a preliminary menu for you and then you can make any desired adjustments. For a Christmas party, I asked them to come up with a cocktail that coordinated with my invitation, and they did an excellent job with that. The food is always displayed beautifully, so it looks as good as it tastes.The servers are always prompt, friendly and efficient and do a wonderful job serving and with clean up, which allows you to spend more time with your guests. For our rehearsal dinner, my mother-in-law chose to have Party In A Box cater our event. The food was absolutely phenomenal (dessert included!). We had a bbq theme- with chicken, ribs, bread, corn, beans, etc... EVERYONE thought the food was fantastic. We had them bring lemonade and ice tea as well, and it was delicious. We are from Anchorage, AK and my mother-in-law caught fresh salmon this summer. She wanted to serve it as an appetizer at this event. Not only did the caterer allow this, she also provided capers, cream cheese, crackers, and all the proper smoked salmon accessories. The caterer even called in advance to check that she had the right color of purple for our tablecloths. Such attention to detail! We were so impressed. Dawn and her team are amazing, supportive and extremely communicative individuals. Leading up to my wedding, she was very quick to respond either by calling me initially for quotes or through email. All of her responses were prompt with a lot of detail; she provided a lot of insight and suggestions which helped make the experience that much better. As for the food, I am still hearing from all of my guests about her chicken. It was juicy and delicious. We tasted food before hand and it was even better than the day we first tried it. Her team did an amazing job of cleaning up after themselves and making sure things were put in order after the event as well. She was attentive to every detail, returned our calls and emails promptly and was always happy to answer any questions we had with regard to our event. We ordered many of her canapés like the Smokey Boneless Short Ribs on Gouda Mashed Potatoes w/ Crispy Onions, Black Sesame Seared Ahi Tuna on a Wonton Crisp, YellowTail Tacos with Jicama Slaw and Green Chili Sauce. Frank was great to work with - professional, timely, creative and happy to work within our budget. He pulled out all the stops for us and created a unique experience with his Pipette Wall (a must have at your next event). At the event, Frank and the team were on time, professional looking and kind to our guests. I appreciated the fact that Frank managed his team and all details seamlessly exactly how we had discussed. Oh and the food - everything was exceptional! Our guests raved about the garlic noodles (another must have) unique mini Bao Buns and the healthy assortment of skewers. She took the time to understand exactly what I was envisioning, guided me through decisions with honesty and expertise, and made recommendations as if she were helping plan her own friend's wedding. Throughout the process, she was patient, responsive, accommodating, and always willing to make necessary adjustments to ensure everything was perfect. Then came the wedding day, and the SoHo Tacos team absolutely delivered. Their staff was professional, kind, efficient, and a complete pleasure to have on site. The setup was beautiful, the service was seamless, and the food was nothing short of exceptional. To this day, our friends and family are still talking about the tacos.
