This is UNACCEPTABLE. We were a big group and went there to celebrate a birthday of one of our group member. We all sat in a table and all of the sudden dozens of small cockroaches stared emerging from under the table, they were ALL OVER THE PLACE. This was sickening and NONE of the employees came over to apologize or say anything, just like nothing happened. We all stood up and left. What a disgusting experience and sickening. Juan Pan Pizza is an Argentinean pizzeria. I used to come here a lot ages ago. It has a great vibe to it with the dolls, posters, and wall art. They TV screens for watching fútbol. Great place to come and watch Argentina play. It is also a fun place to come with family and friends. I recently noticed they have a tiny section by the parking with tables. Don't know if they do outdoor dining or if it is just for those waiting for takeout. I forgot to ask. In addition to Argentinean style pizza, they also serve Argentinean favorites such as grilled meats and empanadas, milanesas, choripan sandwich, and pasta. They have burgers and sandwiches too. I was doing some Christmas shopping. It was lunchtime and I was in the area, so I thought I'd pop in, after all many years. I ordered the Green Pizza (pesto). I also ordered a choripan sandwich to go for my wife who was working from home. I noticed they have a check-in offer. Check in and you a free order of regular breadsticks. I hadn't planned on ordering appetizers but I liked the deal. At first the server was confused. He was unaware about the offer, neither did the other server. Nonetheless. They honored it. For $1 I added cheese to make then cheesy breadsticks. The pizza was very good. A bit oily but good. I took a bite of the sandwich at home. I was also good. I'm glad this place hasn't dropped in terms of quality. Service was also good. Free private parking. Valet parking also available. I believe they offer delivery via Doordash. read more

This is the second time I've been here and I felt the same way both times. Food was good but I've eaten much better at other Argentinian pizzerias. The empanada was good but not the best I've had. The Porteña pizza was also pretty good but there are better ones out there. Surprisingly, the breadsticks were my favorite. I'm not a huge fan of breadsticks but theirs are very good. A pleasantly if quantily decorated place with a tango-Gardel theme. It's been in existence for many decades and has a loyal clientele. It's parking is quite improved and offers valet service in rush hours. It's claim to fame is it's deep-dish pizza. The reason for my 3-stars rating is precisely the inconsistency of the of its signature dish. Sometimes one gets excellent pizza, flavorful and well-sauced. But other times one is served a pizza with indifferently-flavored ingredients and taste. In our last visit the bottom of one of the pies was slightly burnt. I don't live in Puerto Rico, so when I visit, all I want is the stuff I can't get where I live. And so she chose pizza... Me, being the uncle, agreed, and braced myself for below average pizza. I live in New York State, we have great pizza. I also grew up in Puerto Rico, and remember the kind of pizza we used to get. My niece decided to go to Juan Pan, and that's what where we ended. This pizza joint is owned by Argentinians and it shows. Where you usually get Sinatra pictures in the US, we got Gardel pictures. Even though the place was packed, we got seated quickly and the service was prompt and friendy. We ordered the Faina, because I always wanted to try it, palistrokes and two pizzas; Napolitanas, and the Tutta Carne. Both pizzas were thin crust and cooked in the brick oven. The Faina was delicious dipped in the accompanying chimichurri sauce. I wasn't overly impressed by the bread sticks. Bread sticks are really about the sauce and the bread, and neither was outstanding. But the pizzas were great, thin crust, and delicious toppings. I am glad my niece took us here, and I will gladly go again if she decides to have pizza when I visit. read more

The service is worse every time not only they forget everything you ask for like regular items a napkin, or more soda... This place is awesome! It is a Family owned Argentinian Style Pizzeria. The service is excellent, it is a cozy intimate atmosphere and the food is delicious!! You MUST visit and try each of their empanadas. Their "Popeye Pizza" and the "Caminito" are my favorite, their Sangria is spectacular and the whole restaurant's vibe is just great. I'm a fan of pizza and have had great pizza in different parts of the world and have also tasted true Italian pizza in Italy. While this is far from the authentic italian pizza, it is amazing. I love Juan Pan Pizza's pizza. The crust is so good that it's borderline addictive and the ingredients used in the pizzas are flavorful and fresh. The downside to this place is the service. It's awfully slow and the waiters and waitresses simply don't visit your table unless it's to take your order and deliver your food. They often forget the things you ask for like napkins, utensils and water and the wait for the food is long. It's worth it because the pizza's great but it would be even better if the service matched the product offered. read more

Someone should mention that the crust of this pizza is very thick and bread-like (bread = pan). If you prefer New York style pizza like me you may not like this pizza. Otherwise I agree that the ingredients are fresh and that they offer some interesting combinations. read more

We started searching on Yelp for the best pizza in town and spotted this location. The photos and reviews online seemed excellent so decided to give it a try. We got there and notice they had their own private parking yet wanted to charge for using it while consuming their product. (First strike) We ordered to go and knew it was going to take at least 20 minutes. We patiently waited and after 20 minutes asked how much longer so we could come back. Told us about 7 mins, came back in 10 and waited a total of 45 minutes for our pizza. (Second strike) We got our pan pizza, inspected and looked amazing, lots of "sausage", pepperoni and cheese. Downside was the dough was a little undercooked but we didn't mind putting it in the oven a few minutes before consuming. Once we made it home, put it in the over for like 6 mins and bit into it, that's when reality hit. The pizza had barely or no sauce (super dry), no flavor and they did not use Italian sausage, it tasted more like flavorless ground meat rolled into tiny balls. (Third strike) Overall we are not going back unless they fix the dough cooking, add an appropriate amount of sauce (taking into consideration of dough thickness on pan pizza) and use the real ingredients they advertise. The meat and cheese portions were excellent. Fix those details, add more flavor and this will be the only Pizza spot I will come to. (Fix the parking too, no reason to charge paying customers for parking when these aren't the cheapest pies in town) Thank you! read more

Everything was perfect. Took my mother for mothers day and she loved it. Pizza was excellent and the "parrillada" was excellent also. Lola, Jennifer and Jessica made sure everything went smoothly and were very helpful. The restaurant's decoration is very original and makes you feel like you're in Argentina. First and last time I visit this restaurant. Good ingredients but expensive. They have a parking lot but need to pay for it. They do not serve tap water. What is worst, they denied to serve tap water. I had to pay 2.50 for a bottle of water and another 2.50 for my wife's can of coke. A pizza pie cut in 6 little slices cost 21 dollars. The crust was thinner than an export soda cracker! In Puerto Rico, we have a lot of pizza places better than this one. read more

Service has never been their strong point but it is definitely getting worse. We have been to Juan Pan Pizza several times and we think it is not as good as it used to. Last time our pizza took took so long that after an hour they refilled our wine " on the house" and it still took so long that she said "I should have given you two glasses". but she didn't. Tonight no one was in charge, many inexperienced waiters were running around but no one came back after our food arrived. We could not even get their attention to order another beer or to refill our waters. They also brought us another table's pizza while we were still eating the appetizers. We had to insist it wasn't ours and she left without saying anything. Now the food: Side salad, 6.95, iceberg with one slice cucumber and several very thin slices tomatoes, generous amount of onion and nicely presented. Better than a dinners but not excellent. Eggplant appetizer was awesome and generous. Eggplant Pastelon was disappointing, a lot of eggplant under a ton of commercial marinara sauce and mozzarella. Much worse than your usual eggplant parmigiana and nothing that resembles pastelon. Fiesta pizza was pretty good but not outstanding. Not worth the hassle even though we love the appetizer. One of the best pizzas around! Has half tripleta and half pizziola and would recommend them both! Went there once and ordered for pick up and they accidentally messed up the order so it took a little more time but they gave us an extra dessert for the wait, that's how its done! This has been the best pizza I've had in San Juan. I tried the "tripleta" and it was amazing. I ordered the large one and it was 8 pieces, which were a bit small for $30 dollars, but wow! I really liked it! It was really great. The service was pretty nice. The place had a really good vibe going on and it was pretty cool. I will definitely be going back for more. As a local I and all persons I know were raised by our fathers following this simple quote. 'Un vaso de Agua no se le niega a nadie". A glass of water should never be denied to a person. In the island 99.999% of the restaurants have water for their customer. Of course must preferred to sell a bottled water. But if you ask for regular, de la pluma, carraizo o la Plata you will receive a glass of tap or filtered water. And remember that most restaurants have multiple water cleaning system in their restaurant (filter in their soda system, filter in their draft system, filter in their ice maker, a big filter in the general water entry,filter in a jar, and others...). The smallest cafeteria, bakery, bar, chinchorro or kiosk will do everything to get you your regular tap water. This is not the case of Juanpan. They just denied the water. So maybe you eat appetizer, main course dessert, buy several drinks and the total is a pretty big bill (good business) but prior to leave you just want a glass water. You will not have it. Silly, but this is not a joke. The cherry on the cake is the parking charge, the cheap plastic glass and the $2.50 canned soda. Note. the parking is optional Yeah!! Hey you are charging $2.50 for a canned soda and can not serv in a decent glass. They charge like a expensive hotel, but do not want to spend in glassware. Sorry..... read more
