We came in here for dinner on a Saturday night. We made a reservation but you definitely don't need one and can just walk in. The staff was really polite. They have 5 TVs inside that play sports. There's no real ability to change the channel, so what's on is what's on, but it's fine. We ordered the focaccia and arancini as an appetizer and the risotto with chicken and lasagna as our entrees. While inside the restaurant we noticed there was a speak easy that entered through a vending machine. Our waitress offered us to go there. It was very cool inside and had a bar inside of it. The arancini was great and so was the focaccia. My risotto was very good. The lasagna was a little interesting for a lasagna, and very cheese forward, but was still fine. The lasagna was also absolutely massive and could be easily shared between two people. Staff was friendly and food was good. Would come back.
This place looked like a nice place with a porch and another indoor seating area. When we asked for a table for 2 the hostess took us back and opened up the soda refrigerator and there was a cool back room ! Nice music playing , very cool vibe . I had spaghetti and meatballs since they had homemade pasta and my wife had the salmon. The pasta was good the meatballs were slightly cold in the center. Otherwise this place would be 5 stars .
Wow! This came as a referral from a friend and it does not disappoint. The apps are so yummy. The arancini are so good I could have eaten a dozen. The garlic bread was fine, not as good as the arancini. If you are hungry, get the chicken parm, my god it is the largest portion I have ever seen! I ate one of the 3 cutlets they served. Most times when a place gives a ton of food it is ok, well this was fabulous. Super thin, light breading that remained crispy and just the right amount of cheese and sauce. The pizza was good as well. For dessert we had a well portioned flowerless chocolate cake which was paired with some vanilla bean ice cream. Divine! We sat in the restaurant portion near the secret door to the speakeasy so take your pick on what vibe you prefer. The wait staff were super helpful and responsive. We bought the kitchen staff a round for fun. Great experience, I recommend swinging by if you are in the neighborhood.
Tavola is one of our favorite restaurant in PR! We love their specials and happy hours. The food is real good! We always like to sit outside because it's great ambience! We have our favorite server Alanís, a beautiful & attentive girl who took care of us several times! She remembered even what each one of us ordered before. Our favorite dishes were Cesar salad, sauté mushrooms, and all the different types of pizzas! Their chicken parmigiana is huge & delicious. Enough for 2 people. Definitely a place you would like to come back. We go there every year few times we are in Condado, Puerto Rico. A really good find
I had better expectations coming in than what we got . The appetizer was great. But the main entres chicken parmesan was mediocre and the gnocchi was wayyy too creamy . The pasta says it's homemade but was cold and tasted off . The owner or manager I'm assuming was helping cleaning the table and spilled the water over and offered a free water but still ended up charging us $16 for two waters which is crazy price for water . We did not check until we left since we realize how did we spend so much money here . They also charge 10% tax which almost every other place we been around this location was 7%
We came here as part of a cruise line excursion. The service was dreadfully slow. After being seated in the "speakeasy" section, we couldn't get service. After 20 minutes, all we had was water. The waiter came and took orders from part of the table and left. No idea why. And because we were on a shore excursion we were unable to leave. I thought the menu looked great but we had to order in a hurry so I didn't feel the chance to ponder it. The atmosphere in the speakeasy is pretty cool, and I think it would be worth checking out if you could get anyone to serve in there. We were able to finally get some service. The arancini (See picture) was okay at best. But the homemade limoncello shots alone were worth a Star.
We were honestly hesitant because this restaurant is located in a very tourist-heavy area, but wow--what a pleasant surprise. The Italian food was exceptional, from start to finish, and the service was just as impressive. Every dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and clearly made with care. The speakeasy tucked inside was such a cool touch and really elevated the whole experience. Attentive staff, great atmosphere, and food that exceeded expectations. We'd absolutely come back when in P.R. and confidently recommend it.
Was staying close by and the reviews drew me in, everything had me hooked. Was seated in the "secret bar" which was fun all in itself. It was a bit dark, but gave you the impression that you definitely gave the sneaky feeling that would have been great shared with your partner. The music was good, but not overly loud. The staff and service were the best I've had in the PR. Super attentive but not pressuring. My steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and those truffle fries...... yum!! There were several other options in the area, I'm glad to have tried this place,

Once we ordered drinks and food we did not see our waitress again. Flagged down another waiter to order more drinks. Seemed like they were busy keeping people in the speakeasy happy. Pizza came late, with meals instead of appetizers as intended. Food was great and was plentiful. Went to order my birthday dessert to-go. They were out of the zeppoles. Took 15 min to get desserts. They were quite small for cost. Overall we felt ignored.
Delicious, loved my food. Didn't even wait for a photo, staff was nice and peeked in the speakeasy and I loved the atmosphere.
1st time coming here and it was beyond better than I expected. The wonderful woman behind the bar and who happens to also be the waitress was great. When I asked she recommended the lasagna and side salad. Well let me tell you they were fantastic and that says a lot when talking about just the salad alone lol. At the end I was full but had to try a dessert because everything else was so good and as I expected, the flourless chocolate cake was amazing!! Highly recommend Tavolas to everyone!!! Guaranteed good meal!
Who would have thought Italian food in San Juan would be this good? We had lasagna and the gnocchi dish - both were phenomenal. Very rich dishes without feeling overly heavy. Service is top notch, just make reservations ahead as on a Saturday night the wait can be over 20min. The ambiance is also top notch. They have outdoor, bar top and standard options...also, they have a speakeasy behind the cooler in the back. It opens into a dimly lit bar and eating area. Also, the bartender we had serving us made really great drinks. Fresh, flavorful and strong margaritas and Paloma's.
Great atmosphere, food was fantastic and staff were extremely attentive. We ate there twice during our trip. Speakeasy is great too, a bit loud to talk though. The chicken parm can feed 2-3!

I have been eyeing this place for the last few days and we finally made it and wish we could have come sooner. The food is absolutely delicious, pizza, pasta, salad, all so good. The pizzas are perfect size, personal pizzas so I recommend to order a salad and share with someone so you can try more items on their menu. Also, service is amazing, waitress and bar tender are super friendly. Diet Coke products is a plus! Make reservations to enter the special room, soooo cute, I won't spoil the surprise read more

Super impressed by this spot! We were SO happy that we got to sit in the speakeasy for dinner, because it was exactly the kind of vibe we were looking for! The food was all delicious, and reasonably priced at huge portion sizes, particularly the chicken parm! The pasta was homemade and the sauces were so good. The weakest things were the burrata and the meatballs. Everything arrived to the table quickly, especially the drinks! We would totally come back on a future trip and will be recommending to others visiting the island. read more

Really good food. It is a speakeasy behind the Coke fridge so the place will look empty when you first go in. Only complaint- the focaccia is really just toasted bread with olive oil, but the pesto gnocchi was so good! Really nice atmosphere! read more

Service was excellent from the moment we arrived. Our waitress gave some fantastic recommendations, which really elevated the experience. We didn't have reservations, but the manager went above and beyond to accommodate us, finding us a table in the speakeasy for dinner. The atmosphere, service, and attention to detail made the night feel special. read more

Got to try this place on our last night in San Juan and the place did not disappoint! Every dish we ordered, we loved. It was a knockout. As starters, our group shared the Beef carpaccio, Polpete, Truffle mac & cheese, and the Vera pizza. Very hearty choices but we never regretted it even when we couldn't move after. For dinner, we ordered a delicious mix of pasta dishes and we all agreed unanimously that the showstopper of the night was the Gnocchi Creamy Pesto (ordered with shrimp) -- gnocchi tasted like soft pillows of pure delight. Tagliolini Vodka with steak bites and the mushroom risotto were a tasty second. Pro tip: For those who have not tried Tavola before, bring your appetite and don't over order. The portions are monstrous. The Chicken Parm could feed a family of 4 comfortably just to give you an idea. Atmosphere was also very cool. I went searching for the Speakeasy area and was surprised to find that the entrance to it was a hidden doorway disguised by a coke machine. Overall, 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking to fulfill an Italian craving! read more

We really enjoyed our meal. Service from Austin was friendly and attentive. Nice atmosphere outside--lively, loud with rock music on speakers and saxophone playing at the restaurant across the street but we liked the positive energy. Ordered the lasagne that comes in a cast-iron skillet with a big piece of garlic cheese bread. It's made with Braised beef tenderloin. My son loved it. I had the TLT salad, which was arugula, goat cheese, toasted prosciutto and grilled red bell peppers with a tangy vinaigrette. Excellent. A couple across from us ordered a burrata salad with sliced tomatoes. It looked delicious. And we ordered 2 pizzas .... a pepperoni pizza (pizzeta - small pizza) and the Tavola pizzeta (Pomodoro sauce, Iberian sausage, pepperoni, Manchego cheese, mozzarella). Not the best pizza we ever had due to the crust, but Both were very good. They bring Parmesan and red pepper flakes if you request. I recommend this restaurant if you want Italian food. We just had beer. Many people ordering cocktails that looked delicious. read more

We booked reservation for 3 folks, 2 of them birthdays. They sat us in worse table next to door. The 2 filet mignon had no flavor. Sadly the bartender Domar did not know how to make margaritas. Very dissapointed with Tavola this time, usually is 5 star. read more

Our waiter was Derreck and he was exceptional. Our drinks were delicious. My boyfriend loved his martini and my piña colada was tasty and a generous portion. We begin with a Caesar salad that was so large that even though we split it, we did not finish it. We also splurged- lol- and paid for the Fonseca bread that did not disappoint. my boyfriend had pesto gnocchi that was so delicious and my chicken Parmesan was epic. There were 3 1/2 enormous pieces fried to perfection crispy and moist. Then the fresh pasta. Omg! No room for dessert. All for $112 before tip! Pretty reasonable. read more

I never expected Italian food to be this good in Puerto Rico! The food and drinks are absolutely amazing. Was able to get seated without reservations. There's also a speakeasy with drinks similar to those at the restaurant. Plenty of vegetarian options, and I'd definitely recommend it--100/10! read more
My husband and I were on vacation during the power outage and at the same looking for pizza to take back to the hotel. Nothing was open:(. Then we walk by Tavola, it's kind of hidden so we did accidentally walk into the Chinese restaurant at first, but we found them, and they were open, but getting ready to close. They graciously offered to make us what we wanted quickly. We were so grateful for their hospitality. The restaurant is very clean and looks well maintained. They must be since they were the only pizza place locally that had a generator to stay open during the outage, so they're well prepared. There is also a speakeasy located behind the restaurant in an enclosed area! It was like walking into a VIP's only lounge. The pizza was delicious too, very tasty and plenty of toppings! We had a couple drinks while we waited and got to chat with the bartender who was so adorable and fun to meet! If you're in the area try it out! They won't disappoint. read more
