We ended up waiting outside for 20 min in the cold, which kinda sucked. Once they were ready for us, each boat had it's own changing room, and they had towels and phone holders for us. It was great! They really thought of everything. The boat itself is great. It was a little smoky at times when it was windy and the water got a little hot a few times, but it was fun to jump in the lake or sit up on the edge of the boat. We went at night and the skyline was gorgeous. It was so dark that we didn't really realize how far from the dock we got, so they did end up coming out to tow us back so we wouldn't be late getting back. This was really nice of them! The provided speaker was also awesome. There were so many great amenities. We had a blast!

The staff at Enatai are incredibly sweet and ensure you have everything you need: a dry bag for your belongings, an oar, and a life vest. They assist in bringing the kayak to the water, give you a good push off, and then you're ready to embark on your kayaking adventure. But here's the real scoop on why THIS spot is the ultimate kayaking spot (at least among the REI choices--Meyenbauer is the other one). After cruising around the bay a few times, one of the staff spilled the beans. If you take a left and paddle under the highway bridge, there's this magical little river/creek thing. The boat was in great shape and the water temperature was perfect. It was a very relaxing and memorable experience for my anniversary. Ashley got us set up and went above and beyond to make it awesome! My only recommendation is to bring a hand towel to help with using your phone, and don't eat much before if you get seasick since the water can get choppy at times.

BUT in this basic class, one must remember that not only are you learning to sail a boat BUT you are also learning a new language. Sailors have their own language. Period. A rope is no longer a rope but a Sheet. Or a halyard. Confusing, eh? So do your reading before the course. There are also 3 different instructors on three different days. That leads to some confusion as each has their own nuances. It might be helpful to students if the 3 of them sailed together one day to learn how everyone is teaching students; it may help resolve some of the confusion for students.

After you pay the for Basics course, the new sailing book will be mailed to you. Also, start taking online course, it will help you with basics. Day 1. You learn theory and terminology (about an hour) then you go directly into the water and practice, practice, practice. There were only two students on the boat, I got impression 3 are the max. From 10am till 12pm you learn basics on the water, have lunch, then go back to the water until ~5pm Day 2. Repeat basics, go to the water, learn new stuff, lunch, go back to the water repeat+ learn new movements Don't forget to go through the book before the test! Day 3. Repeat, ask instructor questions that you have, take the test, go to the water and get new tricks! Overall: 1) for non native speaker it might have some light difficulties with terminology, but overall it is not too hard to get it. For native speakers it is easier 2) Spend some time on learning basics online! It really helps. 3) it is fun! SO relaxing to sail. It is a new way to spend your weekend, just imagine having a picnic on the water. Perfect present for your significant other. 4) learning new thing is always encouraging The activity you want to try with no regrets. Julian, the owner and your instructor, knows a lot, treats you with the respect, very professional and knowledgeable. You can't find the instructor better than him. We mentioned we were new to the area and interested in taking up kayaking. The guy briefly looked up from his computer to hand us a rental price sheet. We asked a couple questions about the differences in the types of kayaks and without hardly looking up, he said we could look at them in the showroom. After spending 10 min strolling around, asking ourselves questions we couldn't answer, we went back to the counter to ask him the difference between a "touring" & "recreational" kayak he gave a quick answer and said there was one out front (double recreational). We went outside and got in the car. I'm not sure what was so engaging on that computer that he couldn't take a 10 min break to assist prospective customers, but it must have been very important. Not sure we will go back, even if this is the only game in Redmond.

He seemed very interested in whatever he was doing on the computer and not so much the store. I left without purchasing anything. I wasn't really looking for conversation, but at least being engaged or for him to ask what I was looking for so we could work out a deal. Paying 500$ for a 275$ kayak is not really in my interest. Unfortunately, you may have to order online, go to REI or look on Craig's List for something you are not blatently being robbed on.
