We were passing through as we just moved to a small town about an hour or so outside of San Antonio. We're constantly driving into SA to get supplies but sometimes it's a pain to stop anywhere to eat. Saw a sign in the freeway and decided to try it and went thru the drive thru. I ordered a Beef Fajita flour taco, a Carne Guisada flour taco, and charro beans. These come with meat of your choice, tomatoes, onion, jalapeño and avocado. I ordered mine without onion. They were both AMAZING!! I normally eat my tacos with cheese and sour cream, but wanted to try their food the way they serve it for the first time. I seriously wanted my husband to turn around after we left so I could order more!! The beef fajita meat was smoked to perfection. The tomatoes, jalapeños and avocado were all fresh and flavorful. The charro beans were nice and flavorful also. I will be trying to go back every time we pass through!! My husband got the street tacos and loved them as well. I didn't get any pictures because I inhaled the tacos. read more

After the recent bad reviews, I was very hesitant about stopping because I have loved Juan's gorditas since I was a little girl coming to visit my grandma. Well, my husband and I stopped anyway and I am SO HAPPY we did! Delicious and just like I remember! The beef was tender, fresh avocado-onion-tomato-jalapeño, crispy shell, YUM! What happened??? My husband and I used to looove the gorditas, and we would drop by every time we went back to his home town. We hadn't came here at all this year, and we finally did last weekend, but boy, how disappointing. The gorditas were NOT the same, and they cost $1 more. I wish I would have taken a picture because they did not look like the ones users have posted from a few years ago. These were slightly larger, but the flavor just wasn't there. Not to mention mine wasn't even a pouch - it was more like just two tortillas with meat sandwiched in between. Rumor is there was a change in owners earlier this year. Juan, where did you go??? it had nice outdated reviews but here's a current one, my tacos were really greasy and the meat just seemed recooked from the day before, the Mexican coke was flat and tasted like they just poured bottled soda into old glass bottles , barbacoa and carne guisada were slightly dry and the torta was burned and not fresh . The absolute best gorditas ever! If your not a fan of spicy then order it with no chile if spicy's what you crave, then order it all the way. I prefer the beef but they have chicken as well. They have other food items as well but seriously try the gorditas and you'll see why this place has high ratings. Ok so I was referred to this place by a friend of mine who happens to be a local. I took my brother in law and we drove from SA so a little road trip. When we got there we ordered two gorditas each and a drink, I got the beef fajita and the sausage and they were both amazing!!! Hands down the best gordita I've ever had!!! I can not even stress enough how much this place has the BEST Tacos in Texas. Everywhere else I have had Carne Asada Tacos i am displeased, but when ever I eat at Juan's Tacos I am happy, fresh food, you can taste the love put into the food that is made here.
