Classic Texas BBQ done on a high level. The service was fast and efficient. I wish they had more…read morethan 1 serving line. There are BBQ restaurants and there are BBQ joints. I'd classify 2M as a joint. Just the way I like it. Nothing fancy, the way BBQ should be. The Pork Belly was OMG excellent. Hot and moist. I asked for potato salad or maybe Cole slaw. They had neither that day. They suggested egg salad. I just thought about mom's egg salad. NOPE not gonna even try. My wife talked me into it. HUH, I really liked 2M egg salad. It was cold and chunky like. Not like mom's dripping egg mess. My wife got the burnt ends. She really liked it. Unfortunately, 2M is literally across the county from the house. Looking forward to returning.

Tried 2M Smokehouse and honestly... I don't really get the hype…read more The brisket was great -- and for the prices they charge, it better be. Portions were solid, and the homemade-style pickles were actually really good too. But a lot of the rest was disappointing. They have an hour wait was brutal especially when many items started falling off the menu, what's the time I was waiting on the outside The meat came out cold, and the sandwich was insanely salty to the point where it was hard to finish. The BBQ sauce was super sweet and thin, and honestly made things worse instead of better. They were also out of a ton of menu items and most of the sides. Only mac and cheese was left, and after trying it... I kind of understood why. They put pork rind dust on top, which caught me off guard since. The pulled pork had salsa verde and cilantro mixed into it. Maybe it would've been better hot, but I personally wasn't a fan of that flavor combo for BBQ. The brisket nachos sounded amazing because of the Oaxaca cheese, but it honestly felt unnecessary and kind of a crime against good brisket. Overall, it feels like they're trying really hard to be different instead of just focusing on making consistently great Texas BBQ. There are definitely better BBQ spots in San Antonio in my opinion. If you go, go right when they open so the food is fresh, hot, and they still have the full menu available. Also, the inside seating area is really small. The parking lot is a mess alone, it rained the night before, so literally my entire tire was underwater in the parking lot . If it's packed, honestly come back another day because standing outside in the Texas heat while eating super salty BBQ sounds like a recipe for heat stroke.

IMMACULATE. My grandma and sister picked up my girlfriend and I from the airport and pulled up here…read moreright after on 4th July weekend. We arrived around 5pm on a Thursday and got in queue which was out the door and wrapping around the front porch. Their host/doorman was kind, he offered the line water on many occasions and made pleasantries with almost all guests as the line moved. It was a hot day so those waters were clutch. By the time we made it to the front of order line maybe 40 minutes had passed. But ladies and gents the wait is worth it. When we plated our trays on the table my family all had heart eyes, and had equally loved our first bites. Their brisket is extremely tender. It's beautifully sliced and made for an amazing welcome back to the South taste for me. I was in heaven. I particularly enjoyed having the fresh pickled red onion for fresh, zesty cuts through the abundance of other saltier elements on the plate. Their menu is slammin! Their sides, and sausages all had crafty ingredients. I enjoyed their spicy link options and their macaroni was delightful. Their BBQ sauce was a nice 4/5 but certainly did the job. As a native Texan who's had their fair share, this was easily some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Top 5 top 5 top 5. I'm of course coming back and looking forward for more banana cream pudding especially. They were small, slightly sweet, and had great balance with the vanilla wafer ratio. That whip cream on top too had me hooked. I couldn't have asked for a better welcome back meal for the bold Texas cuisine, hospitality, and novelty animal and cowboy decor.

Definitely some phenomenal Texas barbecue here! In a cool town…read more I got brisket, and smoked turkey. The smoked turkey was very moist. Rub on it was definitely spicy and maybe a little too salty. But it was still phenomenal. The brisket, as expected in Texas was great. Sauces were really good. There was some inside seating, and lots of outside seating which unfortunately we did not use due to the weather. We stopped by a shop in Helotes before we grabbed lunch here, and we were recommended to get the mac daddy sandwich. It did not disappoint! A good portion of brisket, crispy melted cheddar, creamy mac n cheese, covered in a sweet and tangy barbecue drizzle and in between crispy buttered texas toast slices... heaven. We also got the brisket tacos which were made with corn tortillas that were warmed on the flat top with crusty cheese and then stuffed with the delicious brisket. I do wish it had some sort of salsa or acidity to balance out the richness. We also go some brisket slices to eat on their own, which were fatty, flavorful, and had a nice little smoke ring. Overall this was a lovely spot to grab some Texas bbq. They do their brisket well. *The Mac Daddy: brisket, cheddar, mac and cheese, and tangy bbq sauce *BBQ Brisket Tacos *Brisket *Sides: mac & cheese, potato salad
