Still A-ok! Big tray of samples out on the counter today, don't know how often that happens. I like…read morethat my to-go sandwich involved neither styrofoam nor plastic. Was disappointed to see the menu here doesn't include options listed on the general franchise menu online, but my standard (the smaller of two size options) classic philly was good. My peppers and onions were cooked properly and not burnt, and it was a good balance with the portion of meat and generous cheese. It was $7.89 after tax/before tip. Waiting in line took a while, but the guys on the grill are quick and get your attention when your order's up. It's not amazing, but it's decent and an interesting option in a food court for a fair price. It's almost another $4 to make it a combo with a drink and a side, and the drinks alone are unpriced on the menu. I just took a sandwich to go. The sandwich comes sliced nearly through, and a good size to split with a friend if you just need to tide yourselves over before eating a serious meal elsewhere. The billow of steam when your ingredients meet the heat is impressive, but they have a good hood and vent over that grill so don't worry. If you pay cash and need a receipt, be sure to ask for one as I wasn't offered mine. Tips are cash only.

Prices are outrageous. More than $50 for 4, no drinks, no sides. The food is mediocre at best, but…read moreprice is absolutely bonkers.

An old buddy wanted to meet up for lunch, so I took him down to Smash'd, and it did not disappoint…read more This little Bar & Grill might fly under the radar, but it delivers big flavor. They've got a solid lineup of burgers on the menu, but I was there for one thing, their Philly cheesesteaks. We both ordered the fully loaded version with fajita peppers and a side of crispy tots. The sandwich was stacked, flavorful, and cooked just right, easily one of the better cheesesteaks you'll find around here. If you're looking for great burgers and even better cheesesteaks, Smash'd is absolutely your spot. Friendly service, good portions, and a menu that hits the mark. Highly recommend checking it out.

I've had this place bookmarked a while. It's on my "best burgers in SAT" list…read more Going in the door, let me just tell you: don't bother parking right across the street. Yeah, okay, it's convenient, but by the time you pay to park (minimum of four hours, which pissed me off) and then have your tiny, overpriced burger...you gonna be mad. Do yourself a favor and fight for street parking. I walked up to the outside counter Saturday night about 7:20. Never been here. The ladies behind the counter obviously could NOT have cared less. No nice welcome...no pleasantries. Nothing said. I spoke first, asking about seating availability inside (it was chilly), and they were rude - looked at me like I was from outer space and said they didn't know. They said they didn't know in that "yeah, good luck with that...it's Saturday at 7, dumbass" kinda way. How could you not know? And if you truly didn't know, which one of them should have gone to check for me. So I went and checked myself. Turns out: plenty of seating. Returned to the chilly duo and placed my order. Ordered the Wake and Bacon burger. I also ordered a Topo Chico, which was also met with a blank "are you from this planet?" stare. How do you not have Topo Chico or something similar !? The burger was just okay. Tiny, but tasty. Fries were so salty and over-seasoned as to be almost inedible. No one checked on me after bringing me my burger. Not one time. The only reason I gave the third star: neat, dog friendly outside area which would be cool for a group outing. Probably not going back.
