What can you normally say about a Supermarket? I came, I saw I bought some stuff. Pretty standard fare. And that would be the story here, with one caveat. Jalapeno Boiled Peanuts.. Hmm-Hmm-Hmmm Good! New Orleans has gotten me hooked on GOOD, I restate GOOD Cajun boiled peanuts, with a lot of crab boil, but these are a beast of another flavor. The heat, hits your tongue, in a whole other way from Crab Boil. They are YUMMY!! The service was fast an friendly, the prices were reasonable and damn, those peanuts were TASTY!! Jubilee Foods, your standard Supermarket, with some uncommon touches in the most unusual places.. Oh, while you're at it, grab a pa of the Jalapeno Cheese bread, gooey, tasty, super cheesy.. My sister and I had a horrible experience with a cashier at the register we checked out at recently. There was a customer ahead of us with 2 items and I asked the Cashier before we started loading our groceries onto the belt if she would use her hand-held scanner to scan the heavy items in our cart and she said, "I can only help one customer at a time"! So we patently waited until it was our turn, we were just standing there with nothing loaded on the belt waiting to see if she was going to scan the heavy items in our cart as we had requested but nothing as she starred at us full of attitude so I ask again, "can you use your hand held scanner to scan the heavy items in our cart" and she tapped her finger on her conveyor belt and said "you can just put them up here", I was like WOW! So, we did, and then we finally got to the end and time to pay, and the credit card scanner was freezing up and after approximately 8 tries I looked up at the Cashier for help only to watch her standing they're literally laughing at us with her arms crossed! Embarrassed and frustrated at this point I asked her "what the "F" are you laughing at" and very quickly she stopped laughing and uncrossed her arms. At this point I told her to go get her damn manager and she did! The shift manager came to the register hit a button on the register and my card worked, I guess the joke was on us. The shift manager didn't know why she refused to scan the heavy items in our cart but stated she was gonna talk to her about that, we were never offered an explanation to why we were treated the way we were or a simple apology! The Store owner and manager simply told us their register camera don't record audio only video, so our horrible experience never happened. Worse experience with a Cashier anywhere in my lifetime and I'm in my 60's. A couple days later I went back to the store for groceries and the Store Owner Steve Fecke followed me out the store to inform me he was banning me from his store for using a curse word and still refused to offer us an apology as did the store manager for the way we were treated by his Cashier, simply amazing! read more

An experience with a business/ store is not just about shopping. It's about how employees treat you & other dynamics that are the business owner's & employees responsibility. I talked with one of the asst. managers about customers illegally parking in the fire lane (even passenger in vehicle with the engine running). He agreed there was an issue at times. He told me that one customer continually refuses to move his car when he is illegally parked in the fire lane. The customer said "I'm not hurting anyone, if the fire department comes then I'll just move my car" It is illegal. What if 5 customers decided to follow his poor example & park in the fire lane at the same time? He also parks where handicapped stage 4 cancer patients like me need to walk. We should not have to deter our path for his convenience. I park in the yellow striped parking spaces & I walk into the store. That is exactly what every single customer needs to do. Other people will also follow his POOR example if this store does not address this issue properly. Later I called Jubilee foods. Charles a different asst. manager got the phone. I told him that I had a resolve for repeat customers that refuse to move from the fire lane. I told him to let the first asst. manager know that what they should do is take down his license plate no. and give it to the police department. They would have a talk with him and the behavior would stop. He said that he would indeed forward the info. Well a couple days later I made a trip to Jubilee. I saw what looked like an employee approaching their vehicle parked in the fire lane. I said "are you an employee?" He said "yes" I said "what is your name? He said "Charles(!!!)" I then started to walk away & he said "oh you're that guy who called in about the fire lane" I didn't answer him. I then grabbed the first asst. manager to ask him about where the actual physical limits of the fire lane were. I already knew exactly where those limits were, but I wanted to see if we agreed & we did. While I was talking outside to the first asst. manager Charles angrily hollered over me while I was speaking & said "why don't you call the cops on me, I'll wait here for them" I said if you want to park back in the fire lane I will" He then hollered "how about if I call the cops and tell them that you are harassing people who are parking in the fire lane?!" He was REALLY angry. He was harassing ME. When I first approached him & asked him his name & if he was an employee why not JUST apologize for his actions right then, especially since he seemed know exactly why I asked him his name etc.? When I was talking to the first asst. manager outside why did Charles not apologize to me & the asst. manager for his actions? Instead HE chose to get EXTREMELY angry, because he got caught doing something illegal & wrong. He hollered at me at one point and told me that he had forgotten something and had to go back in the store. That DOES NOT matter at all. Don't illegally park in the fire lane! PERIOD. Charles' behavior was super unprofessional, antagonistic, mean, inappropriate & very childish. The first asst. manager told the manager that Charles and I "had a few words" THAT'S NOT TELLING THE FULL TRUTH. Finally the manager came out to talk to me. We were in close quarters outside & he wasn't wearing a mask. The mask mandate was still in affect even outside/ close quarters or large groups. The manager was NOT happy throughout our conversation. He said that customers who park in the fire lane was not very common. Yes it is. I see it all the time. He also said that they have many OTHER important things to do besides addressing this issue. That doesn't matter. This needs to be addressed fairly & thru law enforcement. They need to call the police more often to resolve this matter & turn in license plate no's to the police department for repeat offenders. The manager walked away from me before our conversation was finished. I said "thank you" He grumbled & walked away. He didn't even turn to look at me. Very UNPROFESSIONAL. read more

Great neighborhood grocery! Friendly staff will BRING you to item you are looking for. Smiling cashiers stand at end of registers to signal they are open with no line. SUPER CLEAN , INSIDE AND OUT!!! Real butcher on premises. Fresh meats. Not fake red! Great deli with delicious fried chicken. Order ahead. Now offers sushi! Made fresh to order. Walmart may be cheaper, but why drive 6-7 miles for bad customer service. Also note that Walmart's prices have gone up & their selections have gone down. read more

Stores are closed on Thanksgiving as a rule. This store helps the community by opening yntill mid day thus allowing their employees to be home in time for family gathering. Well, I'm new to the south (California) and did not want to show up at my son's dinner without a lil something. So, I saw a store (Jubilee) on the way. I pulled into the parking lot only to find out I was too late. Closed.. My luck. Then out of the corner of my eye I see a man approaching and asked how I was doing. Turned out to be the store manager. A couple of seconds later, he opens the store and allows me to get a couple of pies. There is no way any store in California would allow the inconvenience. The hospitality was only surpassed by his smile. You got to love the kindness of the "Southern Hospitality" . Love it here. I moved here a month ago and my only regret is I should have come earlier.
