The Soup is legendary, the highest sought-after soup is the "Italian wedding soup," which is only available on Fridays and You have to add some HOMEMADE BREADSTIX absolutely delicious and worth the visit if your driving by !!! So..grab a soup and a breadstick & some famous fantastic Farr's ice cream!! Btw.... Best prices in town for ice cream with heaping scoops , it's family owned by Heather & her Very famous husband ( just ask him) It's very affordable for the whole family to eat out have a night out and walk downtown St. George. The ambience is still classic candy store vibe and very boutique feel and just fun being inside, it makes you feel like a kid again !!!! A good friend that grew up here in St. George turned me onto this store while we were passing through. This old fashioned nostalgic store has been in business since 1911. Crazy right? It was built and originally owned by a man named Thomas Judd. The store has been passed down to each son until 1982 when it was almost demolished and made into a parking lot. A couple purchased the store and the Judd home and they are dedicated to preserving this business. Walking in you get a sense that you are stepping back in time when life was much simpler for most people. Judd's is a vintage store filled with classic old candies, an incredible collection of retro sodas, ice cream, sandwiches, and they make some delicious soups and breadsticks. Employees are friendly and helpful. I purchased a tasty black cherry soda and was very pleased. If you find yourself visiting St. George, be sure to stop in and check out Judds. It's a family tradition to stop at Historical Judd's store (for a breadstick and ice cream) with our grandkids when in town. Their parents and grandpa all grew up having "lunch" there while in middle school. Love the historic look and ambiance. We also enjoy their soups. While walking around St. George on a chilly January morning we came across this charming store. We immediately noticed it appeared to be a historical building with an antique gas pump on the sidewalk. We looked inside and saw lots of intriguing old style candies and soda's and decided to go inside. The inside of the store smelled delicious and we soon learned they were preparing various soups, hence the yummy smells. The store itself is very cute and seemed to be well organized. There were many old style candies that we hadn't seen in many years such as candy cigarettes. 4/3/2021 After eating lunch in the area, we strolled right into Judd's for dessert. Staff of young ladies were nice and friendly. Got my lil one a Hawaiian snow cone (fruit punch/green apple) with a scoop of Superman ice cream in the center. I like going in a lot more now that the tables have been pulled out. It's spacious and inviting. During the "winter" if they set up a tent to the side of the building then we can still eat outside. The bench and chairs out front are great for enjoying ice cream on hot days. read more

Such a cool old time ice team and candy store. As soon as you walk in there is a great feeling of a fun past time. The store is small but has ample selections of sodas, candy, about 10 different ice cream flavors and a few other lunch type menu items like soups and sandwiches. The soups appear to be rotations with different daily selections available. The staff were super friendly and even offered us a few extras because it was near closing and they didn't just want to throw them away. Can't wait to go back. Back in the day, students from Woodward School would visit this shop for lunch. They are famous for their breadsticks (you can smell the garlic and butter when you walk in the door), the selection of nostalgic candy and the ice cream. If you didn't frequent Judd's when you were a child, you may not appreciate it's nostalgia as an adult. It's a small shop with tables crammed into the middle and sub-par service. What a fun little store in downtown St. George. We walked in and there was a delicious aroma that filled the store from their grill. The store is small and not a lot of room for more than a half dozen people to look around. The selection of soda and candy is nostalgic and brought back some fond memories. According to many this is a St. George staple, and a must-see for any visitors. When I was in the area recently I mentioned this to my sister, who it turns out had been to Judd's previously, and she seemed a bit surprised. Her feeling was that it is fine, kind of fun, but not worth going out of your way for. Turns out there's not a whole heck of a lot to do in St. George, though, so we ended up stopping by. It is a teeeeeny little shop. There were maybe ten or twelve customers inside, including us, and there was hardly space to move around. The walls are lined with shelves full of novelty sodas, old fashioned candy, and other sweets. There are a few wooden tables in the center, maybe three or four, then the walls opposite from the shelving house Farr's ice cream and the cash register. Food-wise they offer a few snacks: soup, grilled cheese, and nachos. Their parmesan garlic breadsticks are famous-ish, but I didn't feel they were anything special (the texture is like any old soft white bread topped by a smidge of seasoning). Besides hand dipped ice cream you can get root beer floats, shakes, or shave ice. I'd echo my sister's feelings. It's cute, but I wouldn't seek it out as a particular destination. read more

If you're coming here, it's likely because you have kids and need a convenient place to grab a bite to eat. That's fine. Their customer service is fine, but this review is based on the food alone. The bread sticks were okay, the ranch tasted okay (it tasted a bit too sour), and the cheese sauce was pretty gross. The ice cream comes from Farr's ice cream which is pretty mediocre, but the portion sizes are generous . The strawberry tasted like bubble gum, and the cookies & cream just tasted like cream. You can find much better places around St. George, so I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Fun spot! Let the kids go wild! Just like the ol days, a candy store with all the goodies on display. I felt like I was in that candy store in Willy Wonka. Shelves stacked high with candy, jars of candy to grab by the handful, the good ol classic candies that you cant find at just any store. They also have classic sodas in glass bottles, ice cream, shaved ice, and bread sticks (like the ones from the high school cafeteria). We let our girls splurge ($10 bucks each) and they got all sorts of candy. If you're vacationing or stopping through St. George, this is a good place to kill some time. This is a charming little candy shop. We had this place on our list of places to try on our first trip to St. George. I was hoping this place was going to have fresh made candy like taffy and stuff like that. Not so much. The place is filled with nostalgic candies that reminds you of your childhood. They have many different types of soda as well, which is nice to try something new. They also have large bread stick, which are pretty good. There is ice cream and shaved to try. We tried a soda, some cow tail candies,bread sticks and shaved ice. The soda was apple beer and pretty good. The cow tails are always good. The bread sticks are nice and soft, pretty large and cheap too. The shaved ice was way too chunky for me and the flavor just ok. They would benefit greatly by upgrading to a much more expensive ice shaver that would give a better product. This shop is very small so when they get busy the inside gets very crowded and can take awhile to get stuff. Overall, we liked it and will stop by the store on future trips to St. George. read more

So happy to see that this quaint little ice cream shop is still flourishing!! We use to stay next door at the Green Gate Village when it was a B&B and come in to this shop for ice cream in the summer. The children remember this place fondly. My hubby and I stopped in for two cones, one with pralines and cream and the other was Huckleberry. How refreshing to know that some things that are wholesome never go out of style. We saw this store while walking and thought it looked fun and cute! We went in and was gladly presented with many good foods and treats. We got ice cream, soda, and a laffy taffy. First great thing is they exchanged our sodas for fresh cold soda. Then, we lost our laffy taffy we just paid for. They gladly gave us a new one.
