I spent several thousand dollars on a mesh integration/topper and extensions after relying entirely on professional guidance. The system was installed incorrectly, and once the initial styling settled, the placement issues were clear. I returned in person specifically to have the installation corrected. Instead of fixing the issues, I was told I would need to wait approximately 8 weeks until my next scheduled visit for a reinstall. For a service of this complexity and cost, being asked to live with an improperly installed system for weeks is unacceptable. The topper color also failed quickly. Within about three weeks, it faded back toward a lighter/blonde tone and no longer matched my brown hair. This is an integrated system worn with natural hair, and color compatibility is a basic functional requirement. I was sold this based on color and texture pattern matching, which was not represented honestly or transparently, as the hair is heavily pre-processed and does not hold color that is dyed at the salon. There were also billing transparency issues. I later discovered--only after requesting an itemized receipt--that I had been charged for extension hair that was never installed or physically provided to me. Despite raising this issue, I was never refunded for the incorrect billing. Overall, this experience showed a lack of technical expertise, inadequate quality control, and poor transparency for a service that requires precision and experience. If you are considering a mesh integration or similar system, I strongly recommend seeking out a salon in a major hub (such as Chicago) with extensive, specialized experience in these systems. This is not a service that should be handled without proven expertise. Do not get mesh integration at this salon.

They never would tell me to which the owner eventually accuses me of being a hair stylist trying to steal her source and I am not a hair stylist so that was unbelievable!she told me I wasn't the first stylist to try and find out her source. I wanted to see if the hair company was legit 100 human hair like they claimed since it would singe up and break and looked knotted all the time not smooth. I was told I did something to the hair which makes no sense why would I pay almost 800 dollars to make myself look like I had bad hair. So basically she accused me of trying to get her source of hair and also to Damaging my own hair that I paid to get. No money was ever offered back to me by the way.

We've used a variety of stylists at Thairapy and found them all very professional. They listen to our concerns and make recommendations. Our kids have very different tastes, and the stylists provide great styles for all of us. My daughter and I have received numerous compliments and inquiries after transitioning to a new style. My son and husband's cuts are more subtle, but they both have difficult hair and love the service. One of the selling points for me is that they salon and stylists do not push products. They will make recommendations if you ask and have a supply of various products, but selling product is not what this salon is about. Best of all, they make us feel like family and provide excellent service, even offering to touch up or provide follow up service at no additional cost if needed. The salon shares a door with a local bakery, and folks from the bakery often wonder in to catch up on local businesses coming into Irvington and events taking place that week. You really feel like a part of the community when you come to the salon. My daughter dyed her own hair. When she was ready to switch back, Trisha worked and worked to help us restore her hair color. On several occasions the stylists have stayed late and spent extra time to provide excellent service. I can't imagine going anywhere else.
