I've been under the care of Dr. Buten. I appreciate his efficiency, but also his time to care about my health and goals. I feel like he strikes a great balance with not spending forever at the doctors office, but also gets the job done. I've primarily only visited with him, so can't speak for the PA staff, but think his care is great. He is also very responsive on the portal, which is much easier than calling--love that feature! All of the staff are courteous and nice when I've had to come in. It's somewhat easy to get an appointment within the week or so. Office is clean and organized. Usually don't have to go too often, but glad I've found a place that is comfortable for me to go to!

When I tried to make an appointment it would have been 3 weeks before he had time available. I told them all I needed was to renew my prescriptions. So they told me Alison the PA could help me with that. At least she was able to see me within 5 days. And it didn't start well with her but it ended well. First of all, the chart that she reviewed before seeing me wasn't mine but she corrected it. Second, with the new Memorial Care system, some of my information was missing so I had to let her know how much MG some of my medication was...annoying. What I like about Alison was she was very thorough. She had requested all my lab test and one blood test that was the latest in testing for cancer. Today, I got my results back from Quest (which took 2 weeks), let's see if they follow up on my results. I guess no news is good news. If no one follows up I will definitely switch providers. In the meantime, I'll go on Quest website and see if I can figure it out.

I also appreciate that he has walk-in hours available for emergencies so you're not waiting for weeks (or even days) when you have an emergency or need to see the doctor urgently. (I've even had to schedule an urgent pre-op appointment and they worked really hard to make it work with my limited timeline and the doctor's limited availability). His front desk is also really great. If I need something, I don't need to ask for any specific person, they all know how to handle questions, cases, and concerns. Truly, they are great at what they do and they're incredibly efficient. When I ask for a referral or let them know about a concern, I know I don't have to follow-up and I will be hearing from the doctor or the office SOON. I even had a more urgent case that I wanted dealt with as quickly as possible, so I called and got the office's email and sent them the necessary paperwork before my specialist did and I had a referral and follow-up material within 24 hours. When you have lab tests, tests or xrays in general, or anything that requires your attention, someone will call and follow-up and update you on the situation and potential next steps. They may not be the gentlest about it but I prefer a straighforward approach so that I can handle whatever I'm dealing with as quickly and as best as possible. This office is kind, efficient, and very good at what they do. I've been coming here for YEARS, have gotten my family to come here as well, and hope to continue to be coming here for many more years to come. A truly fantastic doctor and office.

Ever since I went to this office, it is about how they get paid. Just to let you know, my co-pay is $25 and it does not matter to me the cost of the service, but it does matter how I get treated for the cost of service. So, I learned quickly that when I go to this office, I pay upfront and ask if there are any outstanding or extra charges to pay for. I will always pay in advance!! Well, months later, I get a bill in the mail stating I did not pay for my $25 office visit. Upon looking at the date in question, I investigated my bank statement, I saw that I had indeed paid. I copied the payment from my bank statement, and also a copy from the bill. Faxed it to them to let them know I paid in full as I always do. Well, I receive a call later, stating that the dates they had were wrong. It was another date they had in mind. When I questioned that date and validated it with payment, they came up with another date. This office is about money, not the quality of care. If you are ok with that, then this is the office for you. I would rather go to an office that CARES about the patient FIRST, the quality of care, then the billing.

I went with her to her appointment so I was there to see how he treated her. He asked her questions, listened to her answers, and carefully examined her as if she were his own mom. I can't tell you how much I appreciated that level of care and patience. Now my mom can't stop talking about how amazing Dr. Mikhail is -- she said that all her other doctors have never been so thorough. For instance, she has had breathing issues the last few years yet no one had ever had her do a breathing test to figure out the cause. Dr. Mikhail quickly got a test ready for her, then diagnosed and treated the issue. I can't thank Dr. Mikahil enough for all these years of outstanding service, expertise, and kindness. He is the kind of doctor that won't run batteries of tests on you unless it's actually called for. I now live 50 miles away from his office and will still make the drive down to see him. I've recommended a number of friends and colleagues to him throughout the years and they all agree that Dr. Mikhail is hands-down the BEST internist around. We are SO LUCKY to be his patients! P.S. She is the type of doctor that tests before she pushes a drug which puts her at an advantage to other Doctors in my eyes. I don't like the trial an error method that many physicians use when treating their patients. It's dangerous and careless. Dr. King did thorough testing before she diagnosed and prescribed. Specifically, she discussed respiratory problems and fertility challenges. I felt that she met and perhaps exceeded my expectations of my office visit. I visited her at Irvine Odyssey, so perhaps it is fair to also give feedback on the office as well. It's clean, modern, warm, and most importantly efficient. I don't think I waited more than 5 minutes. I hate that awkward feeling that you get when you're in that uncomfortable hospital gown, the waiting room is cold, and you just keep wondering if you should take your socks off too?... there wasn't too much of that during my visit. Although the front desk was busy, which made for a less warming welcome- you can tell that they work like the old school type offices where the doctor interacts with the staff and everyone keeps informed and on the same page. One year in particular, I flew back from Thanksgiving and caught a nasty flu on the flight over. Not sure what to do, I went to the walk-in clinic (at Dr. King's old location) she was incredibly helpful and also understood my non-health insurance (meaning potentially expensive) situation and she was incredibly helpful. She also helped write a few notes for my local GP (UK doctor). Since then, I have visited Dr. King once more in her new offices and they look great. I've seen other Yelpers comment that she has a nice staff, which is true as well. I recommend Dr. King and her practice. Good luck and feel better!
