I love a fresh juice and this spot has all makings of a great juice bar but the prices are crazy. I understand its 100% organic but Im sorry, $11 for a green juice or $12 for a smoothie is a bit over the top! People going there should understand that cold press juice (they use a Norwalk, which is an amazing juicer) though bottled elsewhere does last for much longer while keeping the nutrients than other types of fresh juice. Having been to four juice press locations in New York City, I must say THIS one is BY FAR the WORST in terms of service and juice tastes. I find it hard to believe that the servers are incapable of reading the ingredients on their own drinks. First time I went to the Williamsburg Location, I ordered an Advanced Berry Blend, and the server forgot to put raspberries in it, evident by the color of the drink and the flavor. The manager told him to remake it, while watching him like a hawk, until the replacement drink was made. The replacement drink JUST BARELY PASSED THE FLAVOR TEST. Stupidly, I decided to go back to this location to order a Fountain of Youth. Another strike, because the drink was bland and tasteless. The manager once again saw my disgust at the server's attempt to make my drink (the same guy as the first two blends), and told me that he would remake it. I decided not to press my luck and left. After drinking just a bit more of the poorly prepared concoction, the problem with the Fountain of Youth prepared today was that it was TOO Diluted with coconut water. I've never signed up for a Yelp account until now, for the sole reason of commenting on this business. As someone who works in the service industry, I COMPLETELY understand that dealing with people all day can be draining, and sometimes you just want to go home. You have moments of giving poor service, because that's life and we're all human. HOWEVER, I've been to Juice Press several times, each time hoping for a different outcome, but it's always the same: the service here is unbelievably bad. Like, almost hilariously so. Yesterday I went in for a juice, there were 4 (!) people working in the tiny space, and for literally 12 minutes me--and another customer who was waiting to pay for her smoothie--stood at the counter, waiting for someone to help us. 3 of them were at the sink, occasionally looking over their shoulder with blank looks on their faces, then slowly turning back to whatever they were doing. It was completely silent in the store. It's not as if they appeared stressed; there was nothing happening. They were moving at a snails pace, and not in the direction of the counter. One of them was standing on the side, alternately texting and then looking at us. Maybe he was off work, but I felt like he could have at least said something like, "It'll be just a moment, guys, they'll take care of you." Actually, any of them could have said that. Not a word from anyone. A 5th employee comes in, says a nice hello to myself and the other customer (which made me hopeful!) but then just clocked in and disappeared into the back. After several more minutes, I thought I must be on some kind of Boiling Points show. After 16 minutes, I put my juice back and walked out. No one acknowledged it. The whole point, for me, of spending extra money on a bottled juice--as opposed to waiting for one to be made at the deli--is for convenience and time. I'm a laid-back person, who sympathizes with anyone working behind a counter. It takes a lot to make me impatient or dissatisfied, and I feel I've given Juice Press several fair chances. But--the wait, along with the glassy-eyed looks from every single one of the employees, has been consistently off-putting every time I've tried to give these people my business. read more

I live a few blocks away, was excited to see this place open, and will probably continue to go there... BUT this place is soooo frustrating that it's led to me writing my first Yelp review (mostly because I want them to read it and improve). OK so whatever I get there is either awesome or horrible. I've gotten a smoothie one day and it will taste so delicious that I want to drink it for the rest of my life. THEN the next day I'll get the SAME smoothie and it will be inedible, too much powder or too much of one ingredient, I don't know. I've had a few different bottled juices and they are good (personal preference that I like my juice to be freshly made when I order it, especially for the price...). I once got a watermelon juice and it burned my mouth (it was rancid) but that can happen with juicing. So I just make sure to taste everything before I leave now. OK so lastly... the staff... what is up with them!? I am a typical Williamsburg 26 year old but when I go in there I feel like a 50 year old yuppie. They are always having silly conversations that they don't stop to acknowledge your presence (the shop is tiny, btw) up until the point when I start to order. So uncomfortable! It's like they were told to put zero effort into their job... but maybe it's to offset whoever wrote the descriptions for everything. read more

I understand it's Williamsburg and not caring is considered cool and Im clear that you give yourself enough delivery time on Seamless to account for the long and arduous process of grabbing a bottle of pre made juice out of the fridge, but seriously, 2 hours and 20 minutes to deliver a juice and a smoothie at $12 a piece with no explanation or heads up apology call is just unacceptable customer service no matter how tight your skinny jeans are. To make it worse, when I called to check in you bounced me to some automated system who connected me with a generic operator who then put me on hold for 10 minutes so they could call you up to find out that... "yea, they got backed up." Why deliver if you can't handle it? read more

I thought my smoothie was great and the service was great! It is pricey but I appreciate the high quality ingredients. I almost didn't try this place because of the bad rating on here but realized most of the bad reviews on here had to do with the staff and nothing to do with the actual product. I love this place! Yeah, it's little on the expensive side, but that's because it's SO GOOD. Juice Press provides fresh and healthy food in an area dominated by unhealthy options, seriously, it's like the only place in the 'Burg to buy a good salad! It's also open late which is perfect for me when I'm on the way home from a long day at the office. A JP smoothie or juice (Lucky 7 is my favorite) for breakfast is so filling that it takes me all the way to lunch with no need for snacking and the vegan cheeseburgers are incredibly tasty - with no guilt factor! Sometimes it's a little overwhelming with all the juice options to choose from, but the staff always help me pick one to suit my state, if I'm hungover, in need of an energy lift or a boost to my immunity - they really know their stuff. I just wish I could afford to eat Juice Press all day, everyday. read more

I'm such a fan of this raw juice bar but the best marinated kale salad salad I've ever had has recently been reduced in quantity and overloaded with dressing under the guise of a new shaped container for the same price. Like we wouldn't notice. The guys at 10th street in east village made an insanely delicious green soup. Would love to get that at this location. Outstanding butternut squash soup too. Good smoothies, but way overpriced and the staff making your drink is slowwwwww. You'll be the only one in the shop and it'll take them 10 minutes to make your drink. Second time i called the delivery guy took an hour and a hlaf and it wasn't good quality juice. Third time I called 2 hour wait time, I cancelled the order. Never ordering again. I love this place. So much. I wish they would open one in London. When I was last in New York I came here up to twice a day. The juices are definitely costly, but so are many things in Williamsburg and central NY. I don't find the prices to be terribly egregious given what you're getting. It's not like they are just marking up a bottle of Tropicana you would buy to top off your lunch. I'm pretty sure these juices and smoothies should be used as meal or snack replacements and cost less than a meal at many mediocre restaurants in the area. What I really can't understand is all the hatred for the staff. I'm a frequently demanding customer, and patience with slow and poor service is something I lack, and I found them great. Someone on this site said they felt 'uncomfortable' interrupting the conversation of the staff...I mean seriously...how are you even living in New York?? Grow a pair and enjoy the juice. Love juice press, I was at the Mott st location yesterday and had good service Just went in to Williamsburg location after my workout and the employees proceeded to talk to each other and not ask for my order for quite awhile. Then they were rude that I was interrupting their conversation to order. Then they proceeded to stand around instead of making my smoothie. Thank god Tiny Empire is around. The juices are excellent. The decor is fantastic. The service is mediocre at best. The kids behind the counter are kind of awkward honestly. This place has major upside if they hired some friendly people, who go above and beyond to help you with your selection. Again, the place and juices are great, the service needs some work. I don't know what happened to Juice Press :( I don't think it's just this Williamsburg location, the company seems to have possibly grown too big and lost its way - Now everything seems mass produced. It used be that the juices and food in the refrigerated cases were always delivered fresh daily. Now I'm not sure that is the case. Also, the Williamsburg location always seems to be running low, or out of things. Not sure if that is the case at other locations? The only thing that you can guarantee to be fresh is the smoothies. Also the quantity and quality of the food and even the utensils given out has decreased. On top of that, staff seems to turn over quite rapidly, and never appear to be enjoying what they do. I'm sad to say this, but with all that I mentioned above + the premium prices... I think id recommend looking else where for juices and smoothies now - there are plenty of other options! read more

Yesterday at the Williamsburg location I had a large kale salad. it must have contained a cupful of dressing. The saltiest meal I ever had. It was after 9.30 and I was hungry and one tends to "trust" their food no mater what. This morning... talk about water retention! Beware of the marinated kale salad. My wife and I have been Juice Press customers for several years...when it was just the one location in the east village with owner presence. I have a three strikes you're out policy and JP just struck out for the final time for the worst customer service. My wife and I ordered 29.00 bux worth of smoothies today and then sat down to wait. We enjoyed the soundtrack and the people watching before we realized we had been waiting for 20 minutes and everyone who ordered after us were walking out smoothies in hand. We inquired about our smoothies, got not reaction so we asked for a refund and got no reaction. When we were handed our money back there was no reaction. Not one employee ever noticed the two people sitting there with no food or beverage for 20 minutes nor did one employee say anything even remotely sounding like: I am sorry. On our way out we conveyed what happened to the manager. She stared blankly so I said this is where you as the manager should offer us some customer service or at least apologize for lack thereof. She gave the worst apology ever then and qualified it by letting us know she was off duty and trying not to throw up. I look forward to giving my loyal and repeat business to Grass Roots Juicery on 336 Graham Ave Cor of Metropolitan as well as Tiny Empire 142 North 6th street right off Bedford Ave. Both places smoothies are cheaper and amazing and the staff acts like they like you and are knowledgable on health food. read more

I have nothing bad to say about the actual juices from Juice Press (they are fresh, they taste good, and are priced the same as their competitors...basically the typical "what you'd expect" from all the high-quality cold-pressed juice places out there these days). That said, I ordered one of their cleanses (6 juices per day) on Seamless, and even though the order went through just fine...the Juice Press guy called me about 15 minutes later to say they didn't have three of the six juices. He then followed up with, "So what do you want to do?" which I thought was completely unhelpful. I asked if there were replacement juices that were similar, and he said that there were. So I (naturally) asked him if he could tell me about some of those options, and he said, "Why don't you look at our website and call me back in a few minutes when you know what you want?" Really?!? I *know* what I wanted since I already ordered it on the website. I am really disappointed with the lack of customer service, and will not order from them again. My favorite is the "Love at First Sight," but the "OMG" juice isn't bad, either. - They have fresh smoothies at this location, too - The juice IS fresh squeezed, even though it's bottled. The juices are sold shortly after they're made, and they're not high pressure pasteurized. In other words, they don't do anything bad to the juice. It's fresh, organic, and tastes really good. - Tons of gluten-free food and dessert options - If you have nut allergies, watch out, as many of the desserts are made from raw nuts - Good location, extremely close to the subway station - While I find the graphic design of both the juice bottles and the postcards obnoxious, I don't go for the bottles, I go for the juice that's inside. - Prices are no higher than Organic Avenue or Juice Generation. If you think this is expensive, try buying veggies at Whole Foods and making your own juice. You will figure out really fast that buying juice is a good deal for the money! Not to mention saving you the time and effort to make the juice and clean the juicer! read more

There is no other raw organic vegan juicing place in all of Brooklyn that offers the high quality and ingredient integrity that Juicepress does. Hands down, no question. Any other place that offers raw juice that isn't 100% organic is offering you liquified poison. Simple as that. And yes, It's Brooklyn. We are all trying to pinch our pennies and make ends meet, because if we were rich we'd just live in Manhattan. Juice press has expensive juices. But question, have you ever tried to juice organic produce on a Norwalk cold press? Making six juices takes about about 3-4 hours if there are multiple ingredients. And lets not even talk about the price of organic ingredients. This shit is expensive. And so is open heart surgery and cancer chemo when you're 50. And stomach stapling. And weight loss programs. You get what you pay for. So by all means, buy the fizzy foamy rotary juice from the corner store that costs 5.00. Cold-pressed juice is trendy these days, so some nitwit decided to open 11 of these juice shops around NYC. I've only been to this one branch, so I can only attest to the horrors of this particular place. My complaints: 1. The juice is obscenely expensive and the quality inconsistent; 2. The place is staffed by what seems to be the spoiled cast of a failed youtube web series made about Williamsburg by someone in LA who thinks they know what a hipster is. 3. Said staff is blase, rude, inattentive, and more interested in talking to their friends and looking at their phones than assisting customers. Did the owners think they could staff the place with "cool" kids and people would spend $14 on a juice just to be near them? So insulting. 4. I can walk around the corner and get a $5 juice at the organic deli. Yes it's not cold-pressed, but it's not pre-bottled either. At Juice Press I'm paying $11 or more for a juice that is bottled in advance. I have not tried their smoothies, so I can't comment. But I won't be going back, so if you really need to know, be my guest, but you'll be sorry. read more

I love juice press! Go there every morning and they always make me feel welcome. The staff is always able to make a good recommendation for me and don't seem bothered when I have a question. They deliver there too and it's it's always pretty fast and they're helpful if there's a mix up. It can be a bit pricey, but I understand since its made everyday and is 100 percent organic.
