I need to return when it's not buffet style but I was able to try a variety of items from that menu. The bread and sour cream butter is actually addictive and really good! General tso's chicken and bok choy was also decent. The hanger steak left more to be desired and the desserts fell a bit short. Overall great service, fast and professional. Beautiful restaurant and well stocked bar!

DELICIOUS. Creative and yet artful, unique/unexpected and yet combing complimentary flavors. Every last thing I've ever eaten here was outstanding. They're also vegan friendly! I've tried around 10 different dishes. The service is very professional and efficient. The ambiance is super hip, chic, light-filled, bustling. Parking is actually pretty easy because of the large lot nearby. This is my favorite restaurant in Durham.

Came here for my birthday without a reservation due to some issues with my other plans and it was awesome! We had the crispy tuna rice to start and it was my favorite dish. we also had the short rib wontons which were yummy. our main was fried rice and Mongolian beef. our server was great and surprised me with a dinner dessert! Will 100% be back!

We had a wonderful dinner at Juju on a Tuesday night. Thankfully we had reservations because it was pretty busy for dinner. Most of the dishes are tapas style so we ordered a bunch of different things to try! The Mongolian beef was pretty good, it came out hot and crispy and had some potato pieces in it. I do wish that there was a little more beef in the meal and that it came with some rice. Next we got the bomb a** shrimp which also very tasty. The poke came with shrimp chips which was a nice touch and the brussels sprouts had a sauce on it that was a little sweet (almost tasted like fish sauce) which I liked. The last thing we had was the spicy tuna bites, although it tasted very good, it was a bit pricey for only 4 small pieces ($17). Overall, it was a nice dinner while we were in Durham

Had a good, early dinner at Juju in Durham - the food was well prepared & presented. The service was fast & friendly with a pleasant crew contributing with a team effort. The inside is nice & casual, nothing fancy. It did get busy quickly upon opening. I do think the pricing is kinda high given the small plates / small portions. I could also see reservations being necessary, particularly if you go later in the evening.

    Bing with sour cream butter!

Delicious-attentive staff-fun vibe ! My friend and I decided to visit Juju early on a Wednesday night. Haven't been here in a few years and glad we came again. We'd hoped to sit outside, but 'patio was closed', so we got a table near the windows instead. Our server was quite attentive and brought one of my longtime favorites crispy Brussels sprouts with pickled onion right away. (It's still a fave!) We also tried spicy tuna bites, which were a disappointment- small dry rice cake under a Hershey's kiss-size tuna. The rest of the meal was up to our memory of Juju.we had the Bing with sour cream butter which was sooo good. We could have had 2 two orders! My friend declared the charred octopus very good and tender, so that was a hit, too. We finished off the night by sharing the brown butter Pot de Creme...delicious and rich. Juju is the perfect spot for a night out. The ambiance is dark and moody, but perfect to enjoy all the various dishes that are amazing for sharing. It is hard to pick a favorite, I would easily eat all of these dishes again and again. We started with the sweet chili cucumbers, a great combination of sweet and a touch of spice and the crispy brussels sprouts, also on the sweeter side. For our main dishes we enjoyed the garlic ramen noodles and mongolian beef. The ramen had a beautiful presentation, that let's you choose your own combination in every bite. The beef is paired with fingerling potatoes and got rave reviews from the whole table.

Reallyyyyy loved this restaurant! Every.single.thing we ate was delicious. First off, service was friendly, and food was delivered FAST. Our table ordered over 10 dishes, and they were at our table in less than 15 minutes. We ate, drank, and paid the bill in less than an hour. And, it was all fresh and definitely made to order (not sure how they move food here so fast- especially with a packed restaurant). I ordered the pork and chive dumplings, pulled beef short rib wontons, spicy tuna bites, and lemongrass grilled hanger steak. Everything was delicious. My favorite were the wontons- the wonton was light, airy, and crispy, the beef was shredded and tender, and the creamed chevré and pepper-basil jam really complemented the dish nicely. The flavors just worked so well together. The crispy rice with the spicy mayo and the spicy tuna was fresh, spicy, and the perfect bite. Correct ratio of fish to rice was a win for the dish as well. The dumplings had very thin steamed dough, and the soy cause with red chili flakes in it was the perfect dipping sauce. The hanger sauce was juicy and tender and cooked to a perfect medium rare; and the white rice (with seaweed flakes) and cucumber salad (with sweet chilis) were refreshing, and worked well with the dish. I appreciate that each item on the menu is clearly marked if it gluten-free (or can be made gluten-free), and how many pieces of food come in each order (4 vs 5). The ambiance inside is fun, gold accents around and a cool bar scene in the middle of the restaurant. Will definitely be returning here. Didn't take pictures of everything because I was hungry and ate it too fast. Presentation (and taste) was 10/10 on every dish.

Juju, in a lot of ways, was a highhly satisfying experience. As someone who typically doesn't enjoy fusion-type foods, instead opting for a more authentic experience, I wasn't expecting much from Juju. This is especially the case when accounting for a steep price tag. That being said, after a nice evening on their outdoor balcony seating, many of my reservations were overcome. The food tasted good, and in the case of the octopus salad, even surpassed expectations. However, it didn't quite reach a 5 star experience. Flavors seemed simple and expected, and outside of the octopus, I caught myself saying "I could make this at home" just a bit too often. I'm not sure that this is going to be a place I would come back to, given my preferences, but it certainly was good enough.

What a wonderful place this is. We were greeted right away and asked if we wanted to sit indoors or outdoors. Since we had just been outdoors for 6 hours, indoors with the AC was the only option. Our waiter, Kai, asked about any food allergies and also explained that the food is meant to be shared, like tapas. We started with the shrimp dumplings which come with six scrumptious dumplings in a slightly spicy sauce. After the dumplings we ordered garlic noodles. The noodles were accompanied by marinated cabbage, bean sprouts and scallions as well as crispy garlic pieces. Another scrumptious dish. My husband is quite thirst most of the time and they took very good care of him by almost instantaneously having another drink ready for him. For dessert we had the Japanese donuts which comes with a whipped cream, berry and chocolate crumble. They are very similar to beignets. They were cloud-like and had the most delicate flavor. You ate it with the berry cream mixture and it was sooo good. It was a little bit pricey but most worth it. Next time we are in Durham we will definitely pay this restaurant another visit.

I brought my friends who were visiting from out of town here and we had a fantastic dinner. We were a mix of vegetarians, pescatarians and meat eaters and there was something for everyone. The bok choy is a must try, it was the most surprisingly flavorful and unique appetizer I've ever tasted. The crispy potatoes and bomb shrimp were my second favorites like I'd come back just to try all of these again. We also got the drunken noodles, ramen, mushroom curry, octopus and tuna app, all of which were so worth it! Everything was seasoned to perfection without being too overwhelming, a lot of the flavors were more elevated than traditional fare and I can't wait to come back!! Parking was easy, ambience was perfect, I'd drop by for a birthday dinner and the yuzu cheesecake and bao doughnuts were a great way to the end the meal though tbh I'd go for dessert elsewhere.

Super delicious fusion Asian food! We especially enjoyed the brussel sprouts and they had such a good crunch and sweetness. The wontons are very ginger forward, so if you're not a ginger fan I would skip on this one. The only dish I would replace would be the crispy rice tuna. Wasn't anything spectacular to me especially for the price. The desserts were delicious, our waitress was very kind, and overall it was a positive experience. Free parking in the Harris teeter lot. We made a reservation for Wednesday evening and they were actually pretty full. Loved the interior design and vibes as well.

great date or gno spot! the vibey, large dining room sets the perfect tone for intentional drink and small plates. I made a reservation in advance for a girlfriend and I, we were seated right on time. I started with an off the menu lychee martini which was delicious. For bites, the two of us went with the brussel sprouts (absolute must order), cucumbers, charred octopus, tuna bites, and pork belly buns. We probably could've done with one less plate and still had plenty of food. Standouts for me were definitely the brussel sprouts and octopus. For all the hype the tuna bites get I felt indifferent.

Five stars for Liberty & Plenty, a true gem that we didn't even plan on visiting. We were headed…read moredown the street to somewhere else, saw the sign, looked at each other and said, "Let's check this out" and I am so glad we followed that impulse because it turned into one of those stops that completely makes your afternoon. What was supposed to be a quick pop in turned into two full hours of socializing, tasting, talking and working our way through a lineup of spirits that dhows just how much care and craft is happening inside this place. I need to say, Stephanie is a darling. She's not a bartender. She's a proper mixologist, the kind of professional who knows her spirits, knows her history, knows how to read a customer, and somehow manages to be both entertaining and deeply knowledgeable at the same time. She walked us through their menu with the kind of confidence that makes you trust every recommendation, and every drink she made had that extra flourish that tells you she actually loves the work. It's rare to find someone who can make you laugh, teach you something, and hand you a drink that's better than what you expected all in the same moment, but she does it effortlessly. Somewhere between the rum and the vodka, we learned that they're gearing up for a big move to Wilson, expanding from two stills to a dozen, which is wild and honestly well deserved because the quality here is already top-tier and the idea of them scaling up that much is exciting. You can feel the ambition from the crew here, the sense that they're on the cusp of something bigger, and it made every sip feel like you're getting in on a story that's about to blow up. That said, I'm begging. Please, please, please, find a way to keep a tasting room in Durham. You're awesome, the vibe is awesome, the people are awesome, and this city needs places like this where you can wander in on a whim and end up staying for two hours because everything feels and tastes just right. Expansion is great, growth is great, Wilson is lucky to have you, but Durham will really miss you if you disappeared completely. Liberty & Plenty is the kind of spot you stumble into once and then start recommending to everyone you know. If you're anywhere nearby, go. And if Stephanie is behind the bar, settle in, because you're in very good hands. [Review 1073 of 2026 - 4782 in North Carolina - 26252 overall]

The seasonal menu is creative and reasonably priced, we were genuinely impressed. The ambiance is charming and cozy despite a bit warm inside (the AC was pretty weak), but quiet and tastefully decorated with velvet couches, exposed walls, vintage touches, and fresh flowers on each table. We had fun flipping through their amazing cocktail book collection on the shelf too. The bartenders were very friendly and offered us focaccia from Ninth Street Bakery to pair with our drinks for free, which was such a thoughtful and tasty addition. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and are so happy to see a micro-distillery thriving in the heart of Durham. Can't wait to return for an official tour and to sample more of their spirits!
