I had heard such great things about Kipos so we thought to try it this weekend. We started out with the sourdough and olive tapenade as well as the saganaki. Sourdough was yummy. Saganaki was probably my favorite but we didn't get it on fire :( so that was the only sad thing. i had the salmon which was just okay - it didn't really have flavor to me other than lemon. like the spinach rice was soaked in lemon juice. my tongue was raw after - i wouldn't get it again. The chicken souvlaki didn't have much flavor either. The best part was the tzatziki. Atmosphere was nice - almost thought to write about the bugs but they came over with a fan which was awesome. Waiter was great just wouldn't come back for the food personally

Love kipos! Super fun decor and vibe, and they have a little outdoor seating patio. It's a little loud inside, so I wouldn't suggest for a first date or something but still super nice and they have a full bar too. We went and did almost tapas style- the tzatziki was super good, they had a special roasted cauliflower which was my fav on the table. Can't go wrong with salad, it's all super fresh. It was also my mom's bday and they gave her free bday cookies. Cookies weren't anything amazing, but the rest of the dessert menu sounded really good.

Stopped by for a quick lunch and Kipos definitely hit the spot. The service was solid and fast, while very attentive at the same time. The food came in big portions and was well worth the price. The indoor and outdoor dining spaces are also large and roomy for each party. The dolmadakias were fresh and very acidic-- each order came with four grape leaves and three lemons. My mom and I shared a salad and sandwich, which was plenty for the both of us. The Marouli salad was fresh with a fresh, acidic punch from the lemon vinaigrette. I also LOVED the crunch from the sunflower seeds. The Kotopoulo sandwich had a thick, buttered brioche with juicy chicken, pesto, tomatoes, mozzarella, and arugula. I wish there was a little more filling since the bread was thick and dense, but it was a very decadent bite. The flavors went together very nicely. Also, the fries were cooked to PERFECTION with their crunch and seasoning level. There was also an option to switch to lemon potatoes or upgrade to a salad (for $4), but I think the fries were amazing. Great for a quick bite and interested in trying more of their items and dinner specials.

Came here off a recommendation by a friend, we had no idea how beautiful this place was, it's really a hidden gem with beautiful outdoor seating. The ambiance is so relaxing outside, it's shaded to keep it cool and refreshing while sitting outside. It really feels like a European cafe. Our service was great, zero complaints. We got exactly what we ordered and our server was attentive to our table. The food... was absolutely delicious. Mediterranean food is light, fresh and healthy. The food tasted fresh and had plenty of flavor. Portion size could have been just a little larger, but it was still decent. Prices were reasonable. Overall outstanding place, great date night spot.

Great food and authentic. Fantastic atmosphere both inside and outside seating. Very good service. Don't be fooled, it's tucked away in the back of a shopping center- and brilliantly done!

We had a wonderful dinner at Kipos Greek Taverna in Chapel Hill. The ambience was absolutely charming--sitting outside on the covered patio surrounded by the scent of blooming flowers, it truly felt like we had been transported somewhere far from North Carolina. The covered patio was a bonus, especially when it started to rain during our meal--it didn't dampen the experience at all. The food was fantastic. My husband ordered the lamb chops and I had the moussaka--both were bursting with flavor, but the lamb was definitely the standout. While there isn't a dedicated kids menu, our server was super helpful and recommended the keftedes with fries for our toddler, and she happily devoured it. Great food, warm service, and a lovely atmosphere--we'll definitely be back!

Pretty good meal! I was blown away by the design and decorations of this place. Both the outside and inside are furnished so nicely; it seems like a lovely place to take photos. We came for a midday lunch on a Sunday and sat in a little corner inside. Unfortunately, it took us forever to place our order. Even though we were ready for a good 15 minutes, no one was servicing us. Finally, a waiter did come up and asked if we were being helped, but I said no. I guess the communication between staff was lacking. Anyways, I ordered the moussaka and my friend ordered the souvlakia. The wait for our food was also pretty long, even though they were not too busy that day. The moussaka was really good. It was a mix of ground beef, potatoes, eggplant, and cheese. It was SUPER heavy though. And honestly a little boring. It was very flavorful, but all of the flavors were a lot all at once, so I wish it was less overpowering. I definitely felt a little nauseous afterwords, but the cheesy crust was nice and tasty though. Impressively made! I don't think I'll seek this place out again to try, but it was a good meal nonetheless.

Tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, is a place that feels worlds away. Kipp's Greek Taverna has it all: calm, vibe, stellar service, and great food. Let's unpack this, shall we? First the vibe: it truly is tucked into a corner. Surrounded by plants, mural, and a fantastic outdoor patio. We could not hear any sounds from the parking lot. This patio felt like it was in another world. Great lighting and decor. Excellent seating that's not too close to other tables and does not feel crowded. Really fantastic space. The service was not intrusive, yet really well orchestrated. Our orders were taken in a timely manner. Our water glasses kept full. This is not a quick place to have a meal so don't expect fast food. But do expect food perfectly timed. I have never had octopus this tender and excellent. And I never expected to find that dish in Chapel Hill. Really well done and could not have been more perfect. The souvlaki was delicious. Sides were wonderful. That Greek salad was a beautiful presentation. It appeared like they considered every nuance from plating to flavor. And you could tell that the staff cared about this place. We watched another table as they were brought a dessert that was flamed at the table. And the staff member was smiling as he lit the flame. It seemed like he was enjoying the spectacle as much as the diners. This was an incredibly lucky find as we are not from the area. Well worth choosing. Prices were incredibly fair for the quality and experience this restaurant provided. I will remember this meal for a very long time.

Moussaka & Spanakotiropita (What I got- first two on the left) plus a variety of other things

My experience at Kipos was decent. I wasn't super impressed with the food, but the service & ambiance are great and I would maybe give the food another chance. - Platter to share with Pita: The 4 mezes we got were Melitzanosalata (Roasted Eggplant, Walnuts, Peppers, Parsley), Fava Santorini (Split Pea, Red Onions, Capers), Tirokafteri (Greek feta, Chillies, Parsley), and Skordalia (Garlic, Potatoes). Enjoyed this overall! - Saganaki (Flambéed Kefalograviera Cheese, Lemon): Flambéeing was done table side, which was fun. The cheese reminded me a little of paneer; it was good - Spanakotiropita (Spinach & Feta Phyllo Pie): Was disappointed as this dish was lacking warmth & wasn't very flavorful - Moussaka (Eggplant, Beef, Potato, Béchamel Soufflé): Good, but felt a little one-note in the richness Super friendly service. Ambiance is awesome, so aesthetic with indoor & outdoor seating and live music on Thurs-Sat. They are very open to accommodating large groups. 7/10 soft recommend more for the vibes.

I've been wanting to come here for a while now and I was so glad I came here for a special occasion. The decor and ambience was spectacular. The waitstaff was very attentive and ensured that we enjoyed our meal. We got the pita and tzatziki which was amazing and the grilled octopus which was done well. I got the souvlaki which was phenomenal and a great combination of flavors. Very fresh, flavorful, and delicious food. I'm excited to come back again soon.

Omg, am I a reformed tapas lover? Or perhaps just a Proximo lover? I think... yes. We weren't super hungry, so we only ordered 5 plates total for the two of us, and we still left delicious food on the table. We sat at the bar, which overlooked the immaculately clean kitchen, and got to chat with the expo chef, Ben, who was conversational and personal but also left plenty of room for my date and me to feel private. Ryan, our waiter, recommended a fabulous albariño, which more than made up for not having cocktails on the menu. The biggest takeaway: the chef in charge was kind and communicative with all staff. It was truly a pleasure to watch this kitchen operate. If you leave the restaurant without trying the tuna ceviche, consider yourself unlucky. The best dishes were the potatoes bravas and the steak. Th rest was pretty mediocre. We had a broke of white Rioja--it went well with the food and was a good deal at $56.
