I live in metro ATL and have heard about Juke N Jive, but because they're so far away I've never made it out. I was so happy to try them at the Atlanta Ice Cream Festival! Apparently their strawberry flavor is nationally recognized, so I had to try that one. I'm not sure if they were charging normal prices at the festival, but I felt that it was a fair amount of ice cream for what I paid. At first, the strawberry tasted as it should - I wasn't amazed, but I did really appreciate the strawberry swirls. I finished the ice cream thinking that it was definitely a solid strawberry flavor! I then tried another ice cream vendor at the festival who was also selling strawberry, and that's when I could really taste the difference. Juke N Jive's strawberry was far better, as it carried a strawberry flavor through and through, while the other vendor's flavor was lacking. Will have to stop by their shop sometime! read more

I love all things 1950s, especially diners, and this is the cutest little ice cream/dessert shop right in Cumming City Center that is designed to feel like you stepped back in time. I had the opportunity to pop in here over the weekend and I almost turned around at the sight of the very long line that was almost out the door, but I am so glad I stayed and waited because it was well worth it! Their ice cream is made with all-natural flavors and colors, and they offer a large array of sweet selections including more than 30 ice cream flavors to indulge in. I also love the fact that they offer homemade flavored waffle cones like their espresso, matcha, and taro waffle cones. My husband went with the Cookie Monster ice cream with an espresso cone and I went with the Lavender Honey ice cream with a matcha waffle cone. Delicious! $-$$ This creamery has some amazing flavors of ice cream that are all homemade. You are able to taste any flavor that you would like and the waffle cones are made right on site. The smell when you walk through the door is absolutely amazing! It makes your mouth water The staff was crazy friendly, and very knowledgeable about what they were serving. The inside is decorated in retro 50s to 80s, and we loved the music that was piped into the seating area. There is plenty of seating. We sat at the seats that looked out over Main Street and watch the people walk by as we enjoyed our ice cream cones. We will definitely be visiting this creamery again. There are many places to eat along this avenue at the Cumming City Center, and I'm sure you'll hear more about this brand new section of Cumming, Georgia. read more

Practically everything is homemade and amazing! Prices are pretty consistent with a boutique creamery and no other places can hold a candle to the flavor and texture of this ice cream. Jenni's is basically a bowl of sugar compared to Juke N jive. read more

This place is just adorable. The theme is clear in the staff's uniforms, the flashing jukebox towards the back, the bar stools at the counter and the pictures on the wall. They really thought it through and brought the old school diner vibe to life. There are dozens of ice cream flavors to choose from. If you want a sundae or specialty toppings, they can do that too. We each got a mini scoop. The butter pecan is quite yummy. The cookies and cream is too. We'll be back to try more flavors! read more

This is a spot that I was especially excited to hear about in the City Center announcements! I grew up in a town with a little locally owned ice cream place, and I thought it would be special for my kids to have that too! I'm going to break my review down into some bullet points to make it simple. Service - I took off one star for this because they weren't super friendly, barely spoke to me, and they seemed really stressed despite the nearly empty shop. Now granted, they were teenagers so I'm going to give them grace because I've been in their shoes. The star coming off is more so for the higher ups, I wish they were giving the kids a little more support. Ice cream - WOW! If I was rated the ice cream alone it would be 5 stars hands down! I got the biscoff cookie ice cream in a maple waffle cone. I could've eaten 20 scoops it was so delicious. Creamy, a generous amount of cookie in it, and the flavored cones were new to me and very yummy. I also liked the plastic cone that protects your hands from drips, very handy for kids! But I'd like to have the option of getting it or not, since I didn't need it and I'm not a fan of excess plastic. Just an idea! Atmosphere - I love the retro vibe. The little details like the pink ceiling, the countertops, and the retro sinks in the bathroom are great. However, the bathroom was gross and smelled bad. (Again, I think the two kids running the shop at the moment could've used more help) Just to be clear, I wouldn't let any of the cons deter you from going! The ice cream was well worth it, and I think as time goes on it will just keep getting better as they learn and grow. :) read more

Well, I'll start with the one positive: The brownie on the brownie Sundae was soft and warm which was very delicious and complimented the cool vanilla ice cream underneath. HOWEVER, the amount of ice cream that was in the cup compared to the $10 price tag we paid was very bare to say the least. Now, time for the not so positive experience: My wife and I walked in around 7pm last Friday evening. There were only two customers in the shop when we walked in, so the place was not busy. There were two employees behind the counter at that time, one near the cash register and the other just sitting on the side on her phone. Not a big issue, because the place was not busy. We placed our order and then went and sat down. Maybe two minutes after we sat down a couple more customers walk in and order. As time passes we start to notice that those customers that walked in after us were receiving their orders. After about 20 minutes I walk up to check on our order. I asked the guy who had originally rang us up, "Hey! I was just checking on our order, because we haven't received ours yet." He asks me what we had ordered and then the girl that was making the ice cream gave me a look like she was annoyed that I was asking. I told them my order and then they just kind of looked at each other like, "what do we do?" The guy finally says, "we'll bring it out to you in just a couple minutes." I went and sat down and said to my wife, "well, that was kind of awkward... I told them that we hadn't received our order yet and then the girl gave me an annoyed look... I have no idea why." The girl that gave the look was the one who also brought our brownie Sundae out to our table. She apologized for the lateness of our order which was very nice, but it still didn't change the overall experience. We didn't have a terrible experience, because nothing went wrong other than our order being skipped or misplaced. The brownie was delicious. Ice cream was good but not enough. The atmosphere of the ice cream shop was fun, we loved the 50's theme! read more

We've been here a couple of times and enjoyed the experience with our kids. However, on our most recent visit we were very surprised by the portions. We've purchased the sundaes and mini sundaes in the past; the ice cream filled the glass on those occasions. On this visit, all three of the sundaes ordered had a single scoop of ice cream that sat on the top of the glass with the toppings added underneath with the exception of the whipped cream and cherry on top. My son got a mini scoop and it was a larger portion for far less. Also, take a look in the bottom left quadrant of the Elvis image collage. Another one was playing with her hair constantly and no hand washing no gloves Also long line and they were not allowing samples to taste before we ordered even though the people in front of us were able to sample and there were a bunch of dirty sample spoons?? Can I give zero? The way they process orders makes no sense. We watched several orders processed well after, like 30+ minutes, our whole party and friends received everything. The staff quickly folded to people complaining and immediately filled their orders resulting in us waiting 1 hour. If it appears even slightly busy, immediately walk out. The staff should fulfill 1 ticket at a time and tell other customers to wait their turn. read more
