It took 5 years of requesting X-Rays, an MRI, going to a pain clinic, a back specialist, physical therapy, acupuncture, deep tissue massage and taking pain meds to establish a diagnosis and to treat the symptoms, all the while my back pain got progressively worse. I could not walk, stand up straight and sleep well at night. The medical diagnosis was determined to be mild arthritis and the MD's did not think I should be in so much pain.
