This was my first acupuncture experience and not going to lie, I was skeptical and nervous about the "pricking" but he thoroughly explained the process and history/method of acupuncture and cupping. Pricing is reasonable and about what I had expected. I've done 4-5 sessions and have seen a lot of improvement (I had a hamstring injury). Kelly is a miracle worker. I went to a chiropractor twice a week for 2 months and had no relief from my back pain, 3 visits with Kelly and my pain is gone. I have had a chronic itching problem on my arms for the past ten years. I have seen every possible type of MD and DO for the issue and no one could help me. The itching was so bad that I had to pack my arms in ice at night and I could never wear long sleeves. Although it is not 100% gone, I now go weeks with out and sort of itching and when I do itch it is mild. I am back wearing long sleeves and able to sleep without ice or a sleep aid. I highly recommend Acupuncture Healthcare Specialists, Kelly McConville as my experience has been exceptional these past several visits. I went to see Kelly for 2 primary issues, acid reflux and an unusually high resting heart rate. I had never had acupuncture before and was a little apprehensive but after just one visit I am completely at ease not only with the process but with Kelly's approach, knowledge and results. My acid reflux is tremendously reduced from daily to not more than an occasional flare once weekly and that is only after 3 visits. I have been treated by Dr. Kelly McConville for headaches after seeing several neurologists who prescribed various medicines as well as Botox treatments. Instead of improving, my headaches got worse and more frequent. I decided to see what accupuncture would do. After my first treatment I felt instant relief. The pain went from 8 to 1 or 2. I broke my shoulder in Feb 2018 and I have been going to PT for months and months. PT was able to get my range of motion back but I was left with quite a bit of pain. After cervical spine surgery my surgeon recommended that I use acupunture for some lingering muscle discomfort issues. That was 5 years ago and nothing else seemed to be helping. So, three weeks ago I met with Kelly to see if he could help. I still can not believe that my issues may be completely resolved; however I think they may be. Came here for acute lower back pain. By the end of the night it was worse than before I had gone. It felt like he gave mostly opinion rather than scientific fact and he did not speak well about physical therapy which I have had good success with. Overall, it felt like a scam. The website says there is a free consultation and McConville stated that each visit was $85 and then he charged $167 to my insurance company. I feel like I was dealing with an internet or phone provider rather than a medical professional with that kind of deception. read more

I had never tried acupuncture, but I hoped it would help a recent shoulder injury. First, I saw my physician, who told me to take 12 ibuprofen a day and complete a series of exercises. If that didn't work, perhaps a needle full of anti-inflamatories would work. That didn't really sit well with me, so I made an appointment with Kelly. I've been being treated by Kelly for about 2 weeks for chronic pain. Everything else failed; steroids, botox, traction, heavy drugs, electric stimulation,epidurals, Kaiser even tried telling me it was all in my head! Fortunately I have been experiencing great results through acupuncture. I am off the 2-3 Vicodins I was taking daily for about a year and the pain is tolerable and diminishing. The office is situated in a very quiet & peaceful courtyard with lots of beautiful roses & exotic flowers. The treatment room is cozy; with a tasteful leather & sheepskin 'bed'. Quiet music is very soothing, and I feel at peace there and have actually fallen asleep. Kelly is great! I was experiencing sciatic nerve pain down my leg into my foot. I tried Chiropractor, PT, an inversion table, soaking in Epson salt baths, slept with a bar of soap in my bed (an old wives tale), nothing worked. Went to Dr. McConville as a first time acupuncture patient. I was very concerned about the needles but I was desperate for relief. I am a needle-phobe, I don't even have my ears pierced. Dr. McConville made me feel very comfortable and explained every step of the way. Not only what he was going to do but why. I never write reviews before, just reading them. But I think this one will help people in the same situation. If you got Bell's Palsy, and the doctors said no cure, try acupuncture. My eyes couldn't close, and my smiles were crooked. After 12 times acupuncture, in 3 months, my face finally almost gets back to normal. Certainly our nerves grows back, but I think acupuncture helps in a way, I notice twitching here and there after the treatment, sometimes in the same day or a few days after. Frozen Shoulder. I know, painful, and not easily fixed! I went through many months, first was xray, then diagnosis, then wait for physical therapy, then after five months a cortisone shot into the arm joint. Well, I know I got more movement in my arm and the pain was less intense, but it really didn't help. Still had restricted movement, poor sleep and being told that it could take at least a year to fix was very frustrating. Someone recommended that I try acupuncture, I was skeptical as I had never experience it before, but Accupuncture Healthcare Specialists was my choice after seeing the reviews here on Yelp. After the first visit, I knew something was different, but couldn't put my mind to what it was, just sleeping better was good. Then after the second visit, I had so much more movement in my shoulder without the pain, just a few aches. Then the third visit convinced me that my problem was at an end. Kelly McConville recommended that I continue with stretching exercises to keep my arm joint flexible, which I can do with no pain. This is just so amazing to me. I cannot recommend him more highly. He knew what the problem was, told my why the physio therapy was not working and knew exactly how to treat me. I have been treated by Kelly McConville for several different issues including carpal tunnel syndrome and a tendon issue in my leg. Both times the pain was severe and reduced after the first treatment, almost gone by the second treatment and gone after the 3rd treatment. The carpal tunnel pain caused me to use my left hand to use the mouse for the computer work that I do every day. I have not had a relapse and it has been at least 8 months since I was treated.
