Specifically, we wanted a doctor-patient relationship where we could really get to know and trust our doctor, and where we felt comfortable unpacking all of the issues affecting our health. Here's an example of the care she's provided to me: I was dirt biking with my adult son in December 2020 when I had an unplanned, violent dismount into a rocky berm. After returning home, I wanted to crawl in bed and not move. My wife, however, contacted Dr. Edwards who immediately evaluated my condition via a video call. That's right, Dr. Edwards completed an evaluation on a Saturday afternoon within minutes of me crawling into bed! Dr. Edwards persuaded your hardheaded reviewer that I needed to get to an ER, ASAP. She then called two hospitals to find the best facility to provide the proper diagnostic testing and care. When I showed up, the attending physician was expecting me, and the appropriate diagnostic tests were promptly performed. As it turned out, I suffered significant internal injuries that subsequently required transfer to a San Diego level 1 trauma hospital. The day after my discharge, Dr. Edwards came to our home to check on me. That's right, she made a house call!! While I'm sure the medical staff at the hospital gave me adequate post discharge instructions, there's nothing like having your trusted doctor explain your injuries and the importance of completing the proscribed recovery regime. Without having an established and trusting relationship with Dr. Edwards, my stubbornness could have resulted in a very poor outcome for me and my family. Thank you, Dr. Edwards, for your prompt and effective care that made a huge difference for me! Dr. Clotfelter has literally changed my life, and is one of the main reasons I trust Doctors of Osteopathy infinitely more than an average PA or MD. Two of my main providers are D.O.s, and they've both effectively changed and saved my life in the way they treat the whole human being by symptoms, not just through a series of meds listed under the ICD code for your medical issue. I was sad for me (because I'm a selfish thing!) but happy for Dr. C when she took her leave to have her baby, because if her parenting is anything close to her practice of medicine, then I would like her to adopt me! In all seriousness, Dr. C may sometimes take a bit to see patients, but if that patient is me, I'm always grateful she goes above and beyond to deliver comprehensive appointments, actually tied the time to listen to me, as a human being, seeks whole-person treatment (holistic treatment is kind of what DOs are known best for, and would you rather have part of you treated, or your entire body considered when being evaluated?). It's been those times when I've needed to cry in frustration as we seek answers for my complicated medical case together that I've been most grateful to have her in my life, because I'm not sure if I will ever have (I never have before) a doctor like Christine Clotfelter, D.O. Not only is she compassionate and easy to talk to, non-judgmental and understands that sometimes human beings don't fit into the square box of standardized medicine protocols, her entire staff are just as professional, caring, patient -oriented, and respectful of every one of their patients. I've got more issues than People Magazine, and I have had nothing but the utmost professionalism, kindness, and actually beneficial treatment from Dr. Clotfelter and her entire staff. From check in to checkup yo check out, you won't find another practice in this entire county more dedicated to their patients than this medical group. I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others…read more I was referred by a friend who also invited me to a cosmetic event that was scheduled for later in the month. I wanted to look more refreshed for another event I had planned earlier in the week and so I decided to go in early for botox. I initially had a positive first impression of this office. The doctor is a family physician who also offers cosmetic treatments like Botox and lasers. I came in specifically for Botox, and although he recommended more units than I usually receive for my crow's feet area, I agreed, trusting his judgment and hoping for good results. He even asked me to return in two weeks for a follow-up touch-up. Unfortunately, within days, I noticed no improvement at all in my crow's feet. I tried calling the office multiple times and received no response. I eventually went in person to have him evaluate the results. When I showed him the issue, he told me "not to smile so hard," which was surprising especially since during my appointment, the medical assistant had encouraged me to smile very hard for photos. At my two-week follow-up, I was expecting a touch-up as discussed. Instead, he recommended doubling the amount of Botox, and when I asked if I would be charged again, he said yes. This was concerning, as I have never needed that much product before, and my regular provider achieves effective results at a much lower cost. While he attempted to justify this with scientific explanations, my experience suggested that technique and anatomical precision, both critical in Botox, may have been lacking, rather than the amount used. What was most disappointing was that after this entire experience, there was no effort to resolve the issue or stand behind the results. Instead, I immediately received a reminder text invitation to a cosmetic event promoting additional services and products. Given the outcome of my treatment, this felt dismissive and a lack of professionalism and patient care. Overall, I left feeling disappointed with the results, communication, and handling of concerns. I would not recommend this doctor, especially for cosmetic procedures where experience, technique, and ethical standards are essential.

In 2021 I had a reasonably good experience during my first meeting and subsequent physical exam,…read morealthough Dr. Perez was rather stressed throughout. I gave him the benefit of the doubt since he runs his own practice and is only a few blocks from our home. So Dr. Perez became my primary physician for my health insurance. In 2022 Dr. Perez's office sent several reminders for my annual physical which I needed to schedule. The reason for this review is on my third visit in late 2022, I came in at 8:30am due to a very painful hand with stiches. AFTER paying for his services, discussing the 2022 physical I still needed with his friendly assistant, and then waiting ~30 minutes in increasing pain. Dr. Perez refused to help me with what was a spreading hand infection - I needed antibiotics immediately! After he refused to even look at my hand - AFTER I had paid and waited & told him how much pain I was in - I subsequently spent hours driving around looking for an urgent care that FINALLY give me the antibiotics I really needed. At this point I had puss coming out from between the stitches and my hand was burning red. Healthtopia in Leucadia came through for me! So why did Dr. Perez refuse to even look at my infected hand and provide any help (although I urgently needed antibiotics for the infection) AFTER I had already paid and met with his assitant... Because he was still unhappy ( a year later...) with his interactions and reaction with my wife during the very stressful time of COVID. I feel this doctor is not following the basic fundamental medical Hippocratic oath, "first, do no harm". When I had a spreading infection in my hand (it was burning red and puss was coming out of the stitches) and he choose to focus on his personal issues he had with my wife (from a year ago!) instead of my urgent health problem in front of him. Lastly, he said I was using him to get a quick appointment, which he did not appreciate and and another reason he would not help me with my infected hand.
