She looked at me skeptically and said she'd never heard of it before and it was "probably a legal term" so I should speak with a lawyer. Never before have I felt embarrassed FOR a provider... uh, I dunno, Cathy. Google it? Lol Rude, judgmental, unprofessional. She left notes on my patient summary that had nothing to do with my actual visit because at some point I was done being treated like a crazy person and I walked out of her office. So you can add petty to the list of qualities. She said she was going to add a prescription for my acid reflux, but when I read the patient summary, she said that she had referred me to a gastroenterologist so I couldn't get the prescription we talked about. Overall jarring and bizarre experience. I will say, every patient in her waiting room was well over 80 years old, so if you are that age (you probably aren't using yelp to find a doctor, but) she will likely be a good fit for you. However, if you are not in that demographic, my advice would be to steer clear. The front staff and nurses were sweet and wonderful to interact with. This woman does not deserve the angels that work under her. I feel sorry for them, and every patient who has had a similar experience going to see her. Finding a new PCP is hard enough without bozos like this lady trying to make you feel like you're crazy because you don't fit neatly inside of the narrow education she received way back in the 70s or 80s. You can tell she does not keep her education current. She finished medical school and thought she was done learning. BEWARE.

It is never easy switching insurance providers, but I feel relieved that I made a great quality choice for my husband and myself as their new patients. The staff is also nice and the location is in a beautiful, safe area of Oceanside near my home. They are affiliated with Optum Insurance and they also offer a patient online secure portal to expedite more communication etc. The lab is close by and they are also networked with Tri-City Hospital, a local Urgent Care facility, and Specialists located within a few miles from their office. Dr. Braunstein gave steroid injection into painful toe joint, the pain of which has vanished 24 hours later. Great overview of what was going on and related issues. I saw none of the attitudes, etc. described in older reviews about the place generally and Orthopedics specifically. I experienced auto problems (see below) and was not scolded for being late or upsetting scheduling. Which the Torry Pines facility sometimes did. The problem is its entrance. A single lane in each direction. Not prominently enough identified by signage on the main roadways. Needs many more "H" blue signs with arrows strategically placed a distance away. And it feeds directly off a shopping center entrance which I had never seen before for a hospital. Needs a traffic light, if the shopping center entry further down the feeding road has a traffic light, then more so a hospital should. (Single entry/exit; what if there were a fire?) Entry via the parking structure was forbidden by staff only signage. If you have not been there before, even if you had been a long while ago as I once was, you are going to likely miss one or more turns. Spent 20 minutes being diverted into various roads including those that would all but force cars onto the freeway, trying to turn around to get to the single-entrance place. SUMMARY: Nice place, quality assistance and care, when you make it. Minus one star for learning curve for driving in!
