This company will pick up our luggage from Brooklyn cruise port in the morning and drop them at JFK in the evening. Anyways, I called this business and immediately got a call back and the person was able to answer my questions. That is what the 4 stars is for. I will review back in September after I use their service. I hope I can give them 5 stars! If anyone have used FREE YOUR ARMS service , please let me know how it worked. Thank you

Had the service set up days in advance. At Free Your Arms recommendation they said it would be…read moreeasiest to meet them at Newark Airport to retrieve our bags...Fine. Did that, made our plans for our last day in town, with the intention of meeting them at Newark. On the day we were supposed to leave, I woke up to an email from them stating that they no longer had a van to Newark and needed to meet us in town. Kind of a pain, because we had planned our entire day, including transportation without bags from the city to Newark, entirely based on their original recommendation and had to reconfigure everything. Trevor seems to minimize the inconvenience that this caused in his response below. Evidently this wasn't a big deal to him, but it was to me. Made a whole new plan, which now involved cutting our time in town short and different transportation back to Newark (all of which Trevor glosses over). This was more costly, because we required a larger vehicle. Not sure what Trevor is talking about, but our bags would not fit in a standard vehicle. We had two large duffles over 50 lbs each, a 35 pound suitcase, one medium duffle and three backpacks (that we had carried with us through the city)....plus three people. We called Uber in advance and they recommended a SUV because there was no guarantee that a standard UBER would work. Extra cost to us was incurred based on our original plan of taking a standard UBER to Newark and having to upgrade to a larger car, not as the result of any additional charges from FYA as Trevor incorrectly states below. Arrived early at our meeting spot, only to have the driver call us 5-minutes before the pick up time to tell us he was running 20-minutes late. He also asked us to Uber to a different location to meet HIM, rather than coming to our scheduled location. Super frustrating, especially after going to bed the night before with a plan that was completely buttoned up. My issue with this is not related to what time he actually arrived, but the annoyance of receiving the call last minute combined with the request to MEET THEM when I'm paying for a service that is supposed to be bringing my bags to ME. Very unprofessional. Definitely will not use them again.

I cannot recommend this tour highly enough, both for tourists and residents of New York. I've lived…read morein Brooklyn for almost 10 years and have always been fascinated by the Hasidic Jewish community. Frieda grew up in this environment, and so can speak from personal experience about traditions as well as their day to day life. Whilst you can of course walk around South Williamsburg without a guide, you will be extremely limited in what you can learn or see, without someone to provide expertise and show you the best bakeries! I still have so much to learn and would definitely consider doing this tour again. I'd also be interested to learn about the other Hasidic communities in Borough Park and Crown Heights. I was definitely mindful to be respectful of people around me and so didn't want to take unsolicited photos or stare, however it was definitely our tour group that was the novelty, and people in the community were generally happy to see and interact with us. We also took the tour over a Jewish Holiday, so everyone was dressed in their best clothes and Shtreimels. There were also makeshift Sukkahs everywhere. It was great to see, but definitely worth revisiting when it's not a holiday to get a different perspective. I'll be recommending a tour with Frieda to all of my future guests who want to learn more about Hasidic Brooklyn.

Wow this tour was FASCINATING! Frieda had everything organized and planned so well. She gave us…read morethese bluetooth ear pieces for the tour so that she could be speaking at a normal voice while walking the 10-15 people tour group down the sidewalk and not be shouting. She was very knowledgeable of the history, customs and current state of the Hasidic community in Brooklyn. Tour was about 2.5-3 hours in total. She frequently brought us to parks/benches to get off our feet which was thoughtful. Very encouraging of questions. If you're at all interested in learning first hand about the day to day life of the Hasidic community this has to be the best way to do it. The baked goods she got for us along the way were good as well, but I would eat lunch beforehand because its not super filling.
