Such an amazing experience. The staff was welcoming and so informative upon arrival. My family and I were quickly sat. Welcomed with fresh house made focaccia and bead sticks. The staff was very nice and welcoming, and the food was great -- well prepared and enjoyable. Service was on the slower side, but that seems to be normal for the local culture and wasn't a major issue once we adjusted expectations. Appropriate, beautiful life music at least on a Friday late afternoon. Food was simply exquisite, unique. Burrata was a fine surprise as appetizer, spaghetti a la carbonara with the pork slices in mushrooms were delicious. Never thought pizza without mozzarella is not pizza...wrong the pizza was deliciously tasteful, crunchy and fresh. Finally, dessert was exclusively the cherry on top. Strudel Di Mele con Gelato . The mule, aperol spritz and la tradicional were delicious. Wish they put a tad more bread on the table for a party of 4 but it was good non the less. The carbonara was good but not great. Maybe it's the sauce that was a tad too sweet but the noodles were great. Lasagna had some odd ingredients for the sauce. I prefer a red sauce not blanco. The pizza was delicious, and so was the sopa de pescado was very good. Dessert, the passion fruit was a hit. Strudel was run of the mill. Will definitely be returning. The place is fantastic. We need more authentic projects like this in the west side of the island. Overall experience wasn't too bad. Food took a little long to come out yet, the music was pleasant and it made the time enjoyable. Taste wise, I think they have the tools but not the right food knowledge or concept of the menu. Various items in the menu weren't available; and even though the waitress tried her best, it was our first time visiting and most of what we wanted was not available, including the choice of wine. The food was okay yet it wasn't well balanced in flavor; my pasta was a bit up in sodium and it tasted only and specifically like romero herb, which was completely overpowering. It didn't taste Italian if I'm honest. The miñon didn't have much flavor, as well as the potatoes. Prices are steep for the type of technique they use in the kitchen; the price definitely doesn't match the quality of the food and presentation but if you are looking to have a cute date, listen to nice relaxing music, drink a little and watch the dancers entertain I suggest you give it a one time try and if you enjoy keep visiting. Service made a difference, I must add. I bet that with some accuracy in the reviews, this places can work on those little things and top it with bringing an authentic and flavorful experience to you, right in the heart of Mayagüez! read more

This place screams quality. The ambiance, food and service are amazing. My husband and I tried this restaurant for our Anniversary and it was such a treat. On a week night it was not too full so the service was quick but not pressured. We tried several plates and were delighted by all. For pescatarian/vegetarians they have a few tasty options. I must say that for a second you forget that you are in Mayagüez. I wish the view of the place was as beautiful. I don't think dinning outside makes it justice. read more

The server name was Frances really polite and very knowledgeable about the products and components of the food. The ambience was amazing. Decoration on point, air conditioning enough! We eat small and our sense was there is an expectation of eating all the courses. They only sell wine by the bottle, but they have a good collection. The food was exceptional. También pedimos el lomillo de cerdo, un sabor a salsa Alfredo bien básico, un petto di pollo extremadamente duro, un bucatini cacio e pepe fue lo más interesante, porque su pasta estaba dente; sin embargo, el sabor de su salsa no nos gustó. Por lo menos, la lasagne alla bolognese fue el único plato de los que deguste que pudo llenar mi paladar por contener una salsa ligera que permite diferenciar y saborear todos sus ingredientes. After reading all the other reviews I have to disagree. Yes, the place itself looks a little classy inside but the food leaves much to be desired. I had the spaghetti with seafood which literally had one prong, 3 mussels, and 2 empty clam shells and the pasta was thick and dry with no sauce. My husband had the fish with roasted potatoes which resembled tilapia and the potatoes were hard. We sampled a few other dishes from our guests and we all were greatly disappointed. We ended up paying $489 plus an $80 tip for 7 people and most of us did not enjoy the food - we had two appetizers which the portion is for one person and no dessert nor drinks just their $5 bottled water which the label claims is from Italy. We also ordered the $140 2-1/2 lb steak which was delicious but since the bone was about a pound, the meat was not enough to share. We left the restaurant still hungry after spending all that money. So sorry to leave a bad review because I'm all for supporting our local businesses but I will not be returning because they didn't provide the authentic Italian meal I was expecting and it was too expensive. read more

I've been there three times. The first time the food was good but the waitress neglected to inform us that the kitchen closed we left without dessert. Excuse she was really busy. The last time I had made a reservation more than a week in advance and had even received a confirmation email. We were all looking forward to sharing a good Christmas meal. When members of our party arrived they found much to our surprise that the Hostess alleged that Julio Cesar's computer system screwed up the reservations then questioned if we had made one. When I showed them the email not even an apology instead an extremely pretentious and passive aggressive hostess placed us at a table next to the kitchen. Everyone in our party of five noticed and made the best of the situation with no real help from the staff. Every restaurant has its good and bad days but staff preciousness and snobbery is a unacceptable. read more
