Highly recommended. We had breakfast yesterday at Julio's. My hubby and I live in Waco, and met my SIL in Riesel. I didn't expect much, I mean, it was little Riesel. Well, I was wrong! It was delicious! We'll go back soon to try other dishes, but our meals were good-extraordinary. SIL had ground beef crispy taco, and she said it was very good. Hubby had grilled nopalitos with eggs, toast, and a side of pico de gallo (yummy). We all tried the nopalitos and they were delicious. My husband even asked the chef for the recipe. We'll be trying to make that soon. The migas were the star of the breakfast, IMO. Served with beans, crispy potatoes, bacon, and tortillas. Generous portion-everyone shared my plate, and there was plenty left for me. Very Fresh and tasty, and different from other Mexican restaurants. They cooked it with fresh sliced jalapeños, fresh tomatoes, and fresh onions. I gave most of the jalapeños to hubby, but the flavor remained just spicy enough for me. It was mixed with ranchero sauce and cheese, but neither was overbearing. It just synthesized into a delicious dish, somewhat reminiscent of chilaquiles mixed with eggs. The server and part owner was Julio's, and his parents were the chefs. The prices were reasonable. There were 6-7 four top tables, and a booth for 4. I think the 4 tops could seat 6 as well. Nice AC. Clean, even the bathroom. The only negative was No Coffee. Julio said they usually had it, but it wasn't working at the moment. I believe they stop serving breakfast at 11am, and we were there at 10:20. Perhaps they didn't realize there had been a time change. Anyway, no coffee for breakfast didn't sit well with SIL and hubby. I had a Diet Coke and was happy as a clam. I've been through the drive-thru before and their breakfast is always delicious. Today, on our way to the Cowboys game, we stopped in for breakfast and tried the pork chops--they were very good. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the coffee wasn't to my liking, but others may enjoy it. Overall, great food and I'd definitely stop again. read more

If you are looking for a quite place for lunch this is not the place but if you are looking for amazing fresh piping hot and great tasting Mexican food look no further. I had passed through this intersection hundreds of times and never noticed this restaurant until today when I stopped for fuel and seen the building now I'm the kind of guy that loves little out of the way mom and pop places to eat, not real big on the chain corporate restaurants. As I headed into the parking lot I can see that there are 2 places to eat but I was set on the Mexican food and it was amazing but it is a one man show out front and he was busy as there are 6 tables that translates into 24 chairs so to say it's small is safe so sit back and enjoy read more

We were recommended this place by the Airbnb owner. We ordered the beans rice on the side, 2 shredded chicken tacos, a barbacoa taco. A double cheeseburger with fries and a fresh lemonade. So I liked the limonada, the beans and the rice was fine it had a Lima bean in it and other diced veggies. The patty and the fries were cold, the potatoes were limp. There wasn't anyone in the drive thru maybe 1-2 cars in the parking lot. I was just disappointed, my toddler only liked the rice. I think it might be a regional taste cause we are from San Antonio. El Tapitio is a great place to get homemade Mexican food! I never have had to complain not once! I go there all of the time!

We were headed back to Houston today and happen to come across this Spot! Don't be fooled by how it looks! Chips salsa was amazing! I had lemonade, tortilla soup, barbacoa taco w rice and beans! I mean some of the best I have ever had! We also had mixed fajita plate( absolutely flavoring). Great portions and flavor! The past 3 times we have been here in 2 weeks the rice was extremely dry and bland. Our food order has been messed up all 3 times. I think them only being open for drive thru is effecting their quality. Probably will not be returning!! read more

Pretty much the best breakfast around! I always think it's worth driving the 11 miles from Marlin when I'm in town to come on out. Also has affordable Mexican drinks (hot chats, etc) and a nice, cool place to sit. They're open every day (no dinner Sundays) so no excuse to not check it out. read more

Nice Little Joint! Given there is really not much choices around this place (one other location across the street) I am very glad this place was there. Driving back from Waco to Houston with a hunger for something other than fast food, this place hit the spot. The food was delicious. My mother-in-law has several food allergies and the staff was nice enough to make her meal with items she could eat. The waiters were very attentive and polite. They greeted everyone the moment you open the door. By the time you sit down one of the waiters is ready with chips and salsa at your table. This will be our stopping spot when traveling to and from Waco with a hefty appetite. read more

This place was a stop on the way home from a short road trip. We had passed it before. It was late (nearly eight) on a weeknight, so we didn't expect much. The menu was extensive, particularly for such a small place (seating for maybe 25). Excellent food - I had the quesadilla al pastor (marinated pork); a first for me. Very good, with an excellent flavor we couldn't quite distinguish. My wife ala cart - enchilada, taco - both very good. Pleasant service, very reasonable pricing. read more

Coming from the town of San Angelo, TX where we are known for some of the best Mexican food, I was pleasantly surprised to find this place! We ended up here on a whim and walked in 20 min before closing(which I hate doing) but they didn't mind and we were treated to an incredible dining experience. This place is an authentic spot for great Mexican food. The salsa they serve with the chips is delicious. It's hard to find something unique about something like that, but I definitely regret not taking some to go. I had the beef enchilada plate and as I was eating I was already thinking of what I was going to try next time! We weren't sure we wanted to go in when we arrived but after seeing other posts on Yelp decided to give it a try. We had the fajitas for two with shrimp, chicken & beef. They were delicious! There was only one waitress. There was one table of eight & several other tables with couples. We had excellent service. She also worked the register. Don't wait for your ticket when done. Just go to the register. She has it there. Will definitely eat here again if we're ever back in this area. read more

This was our first visit here based on the great reviews from Yelp members. This is the best Mexican food in the area including Waco! The chips are warm and crispy - and oh, so yummy dipped into their homemade salsa. The chicken fajitas are moist and tasty. The refried and charro beans were quite good. The enchilada plate was sooo delicious. And nothing was greasy at all. Marisa served our meal with a beautiful smile. We will drive the 30 minutes to get here again very soon! read more
