A great pumpkin patch for the family. The price is less expensive than other pumpkin patches in the area and you get bang for buck. I don't know what they do to their pumpkins but they are the most vibrant and long lasting pumpkins you will find in the area. They are always bright orange with healthy green stems and last well through the year. The staff at the park and farm store are very friendly and always helpful. The good: adorable piglets and true to its name, the pumpkin patch is indeed "jumbo." The bad: You have to pay extra to do things like the corn cob shooter game and ride the horses. It is not an all inclusive ticket. But the worst thing (and the main reason for the two star rating) is that the jumbo pumpkin patch was absolutely INFESTED with Jimsonweed, a toxic and very spiky plant! It is not somewhere to take kids, especially toddlers, because they could easily grab the spiked pods and injure themselves. We will not be coming back here and do not recommend this spot at all, especially if you have small children. Hopefully, for their sake, they are able to get rid of the weeds next year. read more

A nice selection od pumpkins and Mums! The day we visited it rained, so they didn't charge for parking (normally $5). We found some wonderful pumpkins (.55/lb) and I was really impressed with the mum selection. Most were $20, but they were already potted in nice pots, not plastic. Large selection of blooming and not yet bloomed. Inside the barn was a nice selection of Fall and Halloween trinkets and candles. My kids bought cookies and a whoopie pie (also very tasty, I might have taste tasted for quality control). Ended up here because all other pumpkin patches were sold out of their admission tickets by mid October, and it did not disappoint! We arrived and there were plenty of people helping everyone park in a very efficient fashion. The corn maze was difficult/big enough to have fun and go in with a larger group, but not too hard that you would spend an hour in there. The pumpkin patch was right next to the corn maze, so whenever everyone made it out, we just walked over to find our pumpkins. We thought we were late to the game, but they patch still had decent pumpkins- mainly orange ones but we did see a couple rarity of white ones at the side. Once we were satisfied with our pick, there was a hay ride that picked us up and vendors that sold drinks/food. Not to mention that the petting zoo was a plus and there was plenty do look/do once we got back on the main building area. 10/10 highly recommend, overall great experience. read more

This place is worth the hour or so drive from DC. They have a small petting zoo that has a few cows, pigs, goats and pony rides for kids. The star here is the corn maze and this thing is no joke. I've never been to one before and figured I'd be in and out in 10 minutes. No comment on how I did but I did manage to accidentally find the emergency exit twice and realized the observation tower just shows you a sea of corn. Once you finally escape the corn maze, you can get a pumpkin in the nearby patch and buy some tasty peach preserves and a bunch of other stuff at the general store. My groupon gave me a corn maze ticket, $5 pumpkin credit, and a $5 snack credit I used on a tasty caramel apple. If you have a groupon, head to the back barn to redeem it. This place is worth checking out if you want to check out a corn maze, I had a fun time and would come back next year to see if I can do a little better on that maze! read more

This was tons of fun even for adults who are kids at heart! The drive from DC to Middletown during this time of year is gorgeous - the highway is lined with tall, colorful trees. There is even a 'scenic view' exit on the way (clustered towers of Frederick), which we stopped at for a few minutes. I suggest going earlier in the day to avoid traffic. If you buy the groupon, once you get there you check-in to the "kids barn" and are told that a hayride will take you to two stops: the corn maze and then the pumpkin patch. You get off at the corn maze and go through it to find the pumpkin patch (don't worry - you will find your way), and then take a hayride back to the main shop. You won't feel out of place and only among children, there are people of all ages. We picked several pumpkins which ended up costing around $17. (49 cents a lb sounds cheap until you weigh huge pumpkins). They also sell pie pumpkins (which are SO cute and tiny!) for a cheap price in the store so you can get those if you're not into carving pumpkins. Just ask a staff member to help you if you can't find them. It was my first time doing something like this and I highly enjoyed it. Great fun, cheap date idea. Food-wise they have fried food typical of country fairs: funnel cake, fried oreos, mozzarella sticks, hamburgers and hotdogs. read more

Jumbo's is a fun family oriented place to spend a few hours. Admission and parking are free but activities can add up fast so if you see a Groupon, jump on it. The one I bought said it included a $5 snack bar credit but it was actually $5 per person, as well as $5/person credit for pumpkins and the corn maze. The corn maze isn't too challenging- even after a few wrong turns it only took about 20-30 minutes to find our way out. The pumpkin patch is pretty large and I enjoyed looking for the perfect pumpkin. If that's not your thing, there are plenty of pre-picked pumpkins near the entrance you can purchase. The petting zoo is small but cool. 2 complaints: first, the funnel cakes aren't made to order so they're served cold. Who wants a cold funnel cake? Second, there are a few bad parents running around, i.e. letting their kids push to the front of lines without correcting them. So annoying. read more

Came her again for a third year in a row and they don't cease to impress. We even got the golden pumpkin this year (Yay) and my brother was super happy (he's 12). The one thing I recommend and why I am bumping this review down to 4 stars is if we park at the entrance, don't make us walk all the way to the back to check in. If you want people to walk through the farm and see their options, put the hay ride pickup at he back. It's also safer that way since it won't be in the middle and you won't have to keep an eye on stray kids from the parking lot and the farm. The corn maze was amazing as always, I love getting lost in it. This year they created a cheaters way out and I saw tons of people using it. In my opinion, you should charge them for taking the easy way out because they're not having any fun. I love the fact the livingsocial deal is $20 and we get $20 off pumpkins. I understand we obviously will spend more and that's how they make their money, but this place knows how to show it. The snacks are a little overpriced, but maybe you're getting what you pay for. I liked em last year and will go get something again in a few minutes. It doesn't matter is you're 2 months, 2 years, 12 years, 20 years or 80 years old, you'll have a great time here. Here are a few more recommendations that you can do that would be a lot of fun: 1. Competitive games (kids only, different age groups), with prizes (free entry, top 3 get pumpkins, food, free horse rides, whatever. 2. BEST farm in the area! I've visited probably every one that has some sort of fall festivities, and this one beats them all by far! First of all, there is no admission fee, which is a departure from most of the other farms in the vicinity. That doesn't mean they're missing any action, though. They have the necessary basics, a great hayride into an expansive field of pumpkins to pick and a large store with gourds and other food and craft items, and a corn maze that's neither too difficult nor too easy (which is perfect). Even without the admission fee, prices are right on-par with other farms as far as pumpkin pricing goes (.45/lb), and even late in the month there were plenty of immaculate pumpkins to choose from in the field. This will definitely be my go-to farm from now on when I take my annual trip to western MD for autumn fun. read more

Great fun for the family! There is no charge for admission so the kids get to go to the animal petting area, play on the play grounds and go to the pumpkin patch on a hay ride, all for free! They get to pick out their own pumpkins, right off the vine! I went there yesterday with a family group that included a 20 month old and a 6 year old. They had a blast! The staff was friendly. The pumpkin patch was sad ... Two weeks till Halloween and most pumpkins were gone. No small pumpkins at all. No hay on the hayride. We only had a 10 min drive so that's why 3 stars. This is a real pumpkin patch, beautiful rural setting and not so commercialized as places such as Pumpkinville in Leesburg (walking around a pumpkin patch, don't expect to be looking at a subdivision) or Cox Farms in Centreville (admission fee there is ridiculous). Meh. We were in the area so decided to stop by. It was a gorgeous, sunny day, and the place was uncomfortably packed, with looong lines for everything. We purchased $3 cups of "apple cider", which was really just apple juice and a delicious but small and crumbly funnel cake. They had a band playing bluegrass, which was great, but no place set up to sit and enjoy it. We didn't try the corn maze, but it looked promising.
